Doesn't feel like it's been a whole year. But today's my hatchday!




I feel old xD

Kind of hard to feel like celebrating anything right now though, with everything that's been going on lately..
at this point I just want to stay in bed and do nothing. but can't even do that, since I have to get my brother his meds every few hours..

I just found out that last night, a real life friend of mine just died in a car crash..

It's been a while since I last posted anything about this. but there's great news now
My brother is now at the point where he able to start trying to walk, with the help of crutches. and now mostly just needs the wheelchair when going longer distances outside the house.

My mom has also recovered enough to go back to work, though I still worry about her pushing herself too much.

My brother has been brought back home again, but they finally looked into his nausea and such. and this time around actually supplied us with his meds.
Having something to stop the nausea has allowed him to sleep for more then 15 minutes for the first time in weeks. and things seem much easier on him now that he finally has.

now if only I could get in a couple hours myself xD

for the last 4 days before he was released he's been complaining about stomach pain and nausea, and Kaiser just ignored and sent him home without warning. now we had to call 911 because he vomited blood, and is being rushed back into the ICU again

we are going to make sure he gets transferred to UC Davis this time, so Kaiser won't have the chance to damn near kill him again

My brother was just discharged from the hospital because his insurance didn't want to cover his stay there anymore. but it's too early >_<
they gave us no warning, just told him and I less then an hour before they were going to load him up in a van, and was also told I might not even be able to ride in there with him.
meanwhile no one was home, and I don't have a house key.

I managed to get them to delay the van for an hour while my dad rushed home from work, picked me up as well as everyone else, and got us home so we could pretty much throw everything we were going to put in storage to make room for the wheelchair, out side..

they also never bothered giving us the medication they prescribed for him, and instead told us we have to pick it up at some pharmacy that could already be closed for the night.. we are hoping we can get what he needs, because his painkillers only last about 4 hours >_<

and even if we can get everything, they never told us when or how often he needs to take everything!

Kaiser Permanente is the most incompetent, sorry, and irresponsible hospital I have ever seen.

My mom, who's been in much much better condition only just now got the ok from UC Davis for us to bring her home. So we will be picking her up as soon as we get all the problems with my brother taken care of

not only did Kaiser discharge my brother without supplying us with the medicine HE NEEDS TO LIVE! They also didn't even check if his insurance would cover picking up the meds at the pharmacy they told us to go to!
What the fuck is wrong with them?!

My mom and brother are now out of the ICU, and at this rate, my mom might be able to come back home by the end of the week.
My brother however will most likely have to be at the hospital for a good while longer..
we are trying to get him transferred to the same hospital that my mom is in, now that he isn't in critical condition.

We also have to remodel a lot of the house, to make it wheelchair accessible.

My mom has now been moved to a less neglectful hospital now, and will hopefully get the care she needs.
For my brother, they had to remove his spleen, and also managed to get the internal bleeding under control enough to move on to replacing his hip.. he's been in surgery again for the last 5 hours..

My mom, brother, and other brother's girlfriend were injured in a car crash, caused by a reckless driver T-boning my brother's car. they are all thankfully alive, but my mom and brother need to go through surgery...

I most likely won't be online much for a while...

Just in time for the 8th worst tornado in recorded history!
Had to spend a lot of time in the shelter. Also been without power for most of the time since it hit. and only just now got internet and TV back.

I've at least been able to get storm updates from my family back in California through texts.

I forgot to post on here sooner, but the move to my master's place went well.
I've been enjoying being here with him and am glad I came here!

Currently I'm trying to find work out here, but I've still got some money of my own for now. so I don't have to feel like too much of a moocher for the time being.

In about 13 more days I'll be hopping onto the bus, and heading all the way to my master's place!
And I'll arrive the night right before my hatchday too! (April 10th)

Him and I have been talking about this trip for so many years. So even with it being so close, it still feels kind of.. unreal to me!

I've got internet again for now. But for now it's just a 14 day free trial though Clear.
turned out there's a cellphone tower about 3 blocks away, that we can see just by looking out the back windows of our house.
So we get a really stable connection through that with Clear. Despite what they want to call it, they do throttle down your download speeds, when too many people are doing big downloads, so hopefully it'll speed up some once everyone on this tower is done updating WoW and whatnot.

We haven't dropped Comcast just yet, but we probably will after/if they ever get around to installing the new lines (so other providers won't have to pay for them and will be more likely to say yes later on).
Today also marks the 20th day since we were cut off. But in their system it claims it hasn't even been 10 yet, because someone is editing all the logs to hide the fact they have been missing the deadlines.

we called in on the end of the 3rd, and even though we had spoken to them earlier that day, suddenly they were saying there was no record of it ever being scheduled for the 3rd, and that it was apparently for the 6th the whole time. when we have proof in writing, and in the voice mails left on our phones, that it was on the 3rd. AND it's now the 7th, and we have yet to see even one Comcast van stop by.


So anyway for now as it stands with Clear, we've got something that while not grate at the moment, is at least far more reliable then when we've had for the past 3 years with comcast

Seems I spoke too soon about Clear being reliable. Dispite being so close to the tower, we still somehow lose our connection at random times, on top of every night between 12-3 AM they apparently do maintenance which brings it down multiple times on top of that... So in other words, with them it would actually be a surprise to go a full day without getting disconnected. and with the slow download speed even when NOT being throttled, we can't count on a download finishing before getting cut off..

meanwhile Comcast FINALLY got the new line installed, and while still not as fast as advertised, it is noticeably better then it used to be, and so far I haven't seen it cut us off again YET. So for now we will have to stick with comcast until something better (like Surewest *crosses fingers*) comes along..

As I've managed to tell a couple friends, in the short time I was able to find random wireless networks to connect to. I've had no internet connection whatsoever from Comcast. It went down on the 17th of last month during a storm that caused our power to go out, and we never got our connection back since.

It turns out though, that this time it's actually NOT because of the messed up installation they did over 3 years ago and refused to ever get around to fixing. But instead that they got some "weird signals" during the storm, and flat out shut off our connection for "safety reasons"..

We've called them multiple times, and every time they just send someone to do the same thing they have been sending everyone to do for the past 3 years. To check on our lines and see why the signal has always been so very very poor and unstable/nonexistent so often.
But they already know exactly why, because the first tech guy to show up about 2 and a half years ago (as well as every single one to show up to this day) already found out that it's because they are running a long cable to wrap all the way around the back of the house, to the other side. instead of just going to the correct side in the first place. Since they didn't want to take the time to dig under our driveway to lay new pipes to run it through, like they were supposed to do in the first place..

So anyway, we called when it first went down this last time. They sent someone to check again. He said the same thing all the others have, then managed to get things set up for Comcast to come down in a week to lay the new pipes and everything.
Next week comes, and no one shows up till about 4 PM. When someone does, the guy tells me he doesn't even know why they sent him, since they already know what needs to be done, and he doesn't have permission to work on anything.

He calls in, trying to get another attempt scheduled, but can't get so much as a date out of his managers for when they can get someone out here to do the job they were supposed to have done that very day..

so yeah.. that's why I haven't been around lately.. They now claim they will be doing the installation on the 3rd now, but this is their last chance before we drop them completely and hope the few other things available in our area aren't as bad as they sound.. >_<

First my dad's truck two weeks ago, and today the car of a friend of mine who finally stopped by for the first time in months..

This last time it seems that the bastards apparently came through the side gate, and watched through our back window, to make sure none of us were approaching the front door and made off with at least $400 worth of stuff, as well as all the paperwork for it that was inside.

With how they've still been watching our house since the first break in, we are expecting them to go for the house itself real soon..

so yeah... I am VERY pissed off right now!

Basically this means I'm back to my old, slow, in the process of dieing laptop, whose screen can't even stand up on it own and must be propped up against something or else it will fall back and snap off like a twig! until either that dies too, or someone will call me back from at least one freaking one of the applications I've put out, give me an interview, and give me a job, so I can save up the money I needed to replace my motherboard, CPU, and RAM. which I was planning to replace anyway...

I now have most of my stuff back on my computer again!
Well other then Oblivion and the overly large amount of mods I got for it, but I can deal with that later.
