gerbils are illegal? r u srs?

C'mon guys! This is ridiculous,.you wouldn't believe the things that are illegal in this state..and i draw the line at charging a 8 year-old with misdemeanor for owning a gerbil.

That's right..Gerbils are illegal to own. They're seen as exotic animals. But all animals were wild once... should we count horses too? They also exist in the wild.
Gerbils are illegal to own, as well as perakeets and a ton of reptiles.

My first pet ever was a Gerbil named Keeker. We didnt have the space for a cat or dog, so my mom got me a little brown ball of fluff who was my companion for most of elementary school. He was my mothers way of teaching me responsibility, and honestly..i ran home every day because i felt like he was waiting for me.

She tought me what was alright for them to eat, to always keep water available..to make sure the bedding was clean, etc. I was an 'only child' in the sense that my two older brothers were 15,16 years older and no longer lived at home.
Rodents don't live very long and he did eventually pass away, but he was my best friend during his short little life and he brought me a lot of joy and happiness.

Lets give California's children their pets back.
