Updated FAQ, price guide, order forms, etc.
Posted 13 years agoJust announcing some revisions to my commission rules and such. Streamlined some of the questions/answers, included inked commissions in the examples, and tweaked a couple of rules that needed clarifying or no longer felt relevant.
Here's what's different:
-Payment is due ASAP, and unpaid slots will be put up for grabs after 5 days. I understand some folks may have to transfer funds into Paypal first, and that's ok within reason, but I'm also on a schedule and can't wait forever.
-You can enter up to three commission rounds in a row. It used to be two, because I had a couple of repeat customers who kept getting in on like every single round and other people were starting to complain. This doesn't seem to be so much of a problem now, so I'm relaxing it a little.
-Specific costumes and props MUST have reference pictures. I don't actually watch much TV or play many video games, and I don't know one kind of gun from another, so if your character is dressed up as someone from a movie/game/book/etc. or uses a very specific prop, the only way you can be sure you get exactly what you want is to provide me with a reference that you know is accurate!

First of all, this is going to be a single character only round again. I'm not quitting couples commissions forever, don't worry! They just take me a lot longer than single-character ones, and I'd like to get these done fairly quickly.
The response on the inked commission examples was really positive, so I'm pleased to announce that I'm going to be offering them alongside regular sketches from now on! The price tiers will actually be slightly cheaper than sketches ($10, $12, and $15 for single characters), and this is why: because they are traditionally inked, there are no revisions or WIP stages. They're meant to have a quick turnaround, so what you see is what you get. The originals can be mailed just like sketches though, and you will receive a .png with either a transparent bg or in the bg color of your choice, a little larger than the examples linked above.
Good ol' sketch commissions are still available as well, and the usual rules apply for both commission types: no porn or super hardcore fetishy stuff, just ask if you have an idea you're not sure about! Sketch prices start at $12 for simple characters, complex details like clothes or wings will run $15 to $18!

Posted 14 years agoUgh, I hate that things always seem to come up and throw off my schedule. In case anyone's been wondering where I've been, the short of it is that my boss had to go out of town and I was the only one who could cover for him, so I've been working out in 100-110 degree weather day after day. At least I'm getting paid for it, but I think I'd rather be indoors drawing :P He's finally back, so I can resume working on sketches again. Due to some unexpected things coming up I need to raise a certain amount by the end of this month. Part of me kind of wants to open ~*emergency commissions*~ this moment, but I don't feel it would be right to do that before the current sketches are totally done. Secondly, I've been thinking a lot about how I want to approach two-character sketches in the future. Folks seem to like them, but they're not my strong suit and sometimes I feel like I shouldn't be charging as much as I do for them. And when so many people ask for them, they can get pretty overwhelming @_@ So here's what I think I'm going to do: I will be offering three or four 2-character slots every round at a slightly reduced price (like, a sketch that was $25 before would be around $22.) But all the other slots will be 1-character only!
That said, IT'S SKETCH TIME. As always, nothing pornographic or super fetishy plz. Full-body, full-color and TOTALLY AWESOME.

Status Update
Posted 14 years agoHope everyone had a great holiday weekend! I'm just popping in real quick to give a general status update. It looks like I won't be finishing the current sketch round by the end of the month as I'd hoped to, this is totally due to poor scheduling on my part and I want to apologize for any inconvenience it might cause. I'll be wrapping the sketches up this weekend and hopefully by the middle of next week they'll all be finished. Then I'll be mailing out originals to everyone who's requested theirs. If you want your sketch shipped and you don't see your name at the bottom of this journal, please let me know!

Posted 14 years agoHey guys! Just wanted to say that I've got some part-time work now helping a family friend with his business, so if things seem a little slow, that's part of the reason why. Really, it's cool as long as it's done within a reasonable amount of time. Posted 14 years agoFirst batch of the new year, hooray! I'm really going to try to improve the quality of my work this year, as well as my turnaround time. Y'all probably know the drill by now. One or two characters, nothing creepy or explicit. Prices for paper-drawn sketches are going up, but now that I have a tablet, I can use that to provide digitally-drawn sketches for the same low price.

Keep in mind that prices depend on the number of characters in the picture, how complex those characters are, whether or not there are background elements, and whether or not there are detailed props such as weapons.
Inked commissions are cheaper because they cannot be edited or revised.

Happy new year! Announcements for 2011
Posted 15 years agoHey guys, hope you had/are having a great new year's eve!
In the coming week I'm going to be finishing all my current commission orders, and then I'll be ready to open for some more. I'm kinda burnt out on sketches though, so I'm thinking about offering some alternatives, like icons or traditional badges. I have a borrowed tablet to play around with now, so I might open for some cheap digital stuff to get some practice in. Feel free to make suggestions if there's anything you'd be interested in commissioning.
I'm also in the middle of rewriting my Commission FAQ and updating a few rules. I'll make a new post for that when I'm finished.
As of this post, sketch commission prices are staying the same, though I still have to think about it a little. I want to turn out better art on a more consistent basis in 2011, but I can only draw and color so much for $10-15. We'll see!
2010 kinda sucked, I hope the new year is better for all of you! Have a fun, safe, and awesome night tonight, everyone.
