Transform Fiction: Pilot — Looking for Submissions! OPEN
General | Posted 3 days agoTransform Fiction: Pilot
"Transform Fiction" will be a digital magazine inspired by classic pulp science fiction. For the pilot, we aim to test the idea by creating an anthology of submitted stories from (furry) writers that feature transformation of all kinds — Anthro TF, TFTG, gender TF, pooltoy, inanimate, etc — written in all kinds of prose, such as: speculative fiction, character dramas, smutty escapades, horror, and so forth! The Transform Fiction pilot will be a compilation of (likely) six stories into a free digital magazine .pdf format. Given the feedback received so far, starting small gives us a chance to test the project and give an example of what we'd like to achieve in future.
Submissions
Transform Fiction is open for submissions! Currently — as this first edition of Transform Fiction is a pilot — we are only accepting stories of 5,000 words or less. If you would like to have your story featured in the first edition of our magazine, please refer to the information below:
• You can only submit stories that you, yourself the author, have written. We will only accept one submission per author, per round. If the pilot is successful, there will be more opportunities to submit stories for future magazines.
• The story must strictly involve some kind of transformation within the plot or sub-plot. Be imaginative and expressive in how you depict this! "Transformation" is defined as: a (drastic) change in physical appearance and/or form.
• Only fiction will be accepted (no non-fiction) and stories should not include political and religious commentary, excessive violence, and/or extreme content [see additional details below].
• Fanfiction is not allowed. Please only write original characters (which may include self-inserts/sonas) that belong to you, or that you have permission to use.
• Stories should be well-written and convenient to format in black and white for on-screen reading (no images).
• Submissions do not have to be new and written specifically for Transform Fiction — we accept already posted stories as long as they do not feature in a previous publication (e.g., a short story collection, anthology, or novel).
• Adult content (NSFW) is allowed but any smut must be foremost porn-with-plot.
• The use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) is strictly forbidden, nothing deemed to be written or "assisted" by GenAI will be accepted.
Please submit your story file as an email attachment — the file must be in an editable format (.RTF or .DOCX) ideally formatted with the Shunn format (e.g., https://www.shunn.net/format/story/ ) but do not include any personal details. Make sure to include within your email: (1) your author/display name; (2) story title; (3) word count [5000 words or less]; (4) content warnings (if appropriate), and; (5) a one-to-two sentence summary of what the story entails — knowing the crux will help us divvy stories between editors.
Send submissions to: transform.fiction@outlook.com
All submissions will be reviewed by our editors to ensure a sufficient baseline quality, i.e., grammatically coherent and without distracting spelling mistakes. Decisions by editors to reject submissions are final. We only accept stories written in English at this time. Transform Fiction is organised as a project to share the work of furry creators, we do not offer payment for accepted submissions.
As this is the pilot, we're aiming to publish six stories. We are unsure of how popular Transform Fiction will be — i.e., how many authors would like to submit something — so we may have to reject a lot of submissions this first time. The pilot magazine is a learning experience and also a chance to gather data/feedback. Please work with us and give the benefit of the doubt — we're all new to this : )
Additional Details
"Author" means you, the person who submits a written fiction to Transform Fiction.
"Transform Fiction" means us, the people (aka the editorial team) handling and/or publishing the written fiction.
Submission Process Overview
(1) The author sends a story via email as an editable .RTF or .DOCX file attachment (as described above).
(2) The story file is checked by the editorial team to verify content/length/quality; if there are a lot of story submissions, the editorial team will choose a selection (likely to be six) to publish.
(3) Authors are notified whether their submission was successful.
(4) Editors will format submitted (and selected) stories for publication, including possible edits to fix grammatical errors or spelling mistakes. Prior to publication, authors will view the publication-ready version to verify. Transform Fiction will work with authors and thus is it necessary for authors to be responsive over email s editors may have questions/feedback/files to review.
(5) All submitted stories are collated into the magazine
(6) Publication of the submitted stories
Terms of Service
• To submit a story to Transform Fiction, regardless of story content, the author must be 18 years or older. They must be the person who authored the story they are submitting. At this time, stories cannot be submitted on behalf of another person. Plagiarism is not tolerated.
• Any and all characters portrayed within a situation in a story deemed sexual (i.e., meant to be read for sexual gratification) must be consenting adults over the age of 18. This is at the editors discretion.
• Fanfiction or, specifically, writing intellectual property that you do not have permission to use, is forbidden. Characters in the story must be fictional and must be original. The story should not contain real-life people and/or the characters they use to represent themselves (i.e., fursonas) without written permission.
• Small edits and minor corrections may be made by editors to the submitted work (e.g., to fix grammatical errors or spelling mistakes). These will be communicated and checked with the author prior to publication. We expect authors to respond in a timely manner to emails during the expecting four-to-eight weeks of editorial. Specifically, we expect authors to respond within three working days (unless notified) to emails from Transform Fiction.
• All rights to the submitted fiction are retained by the author. The submitted fiction may have been uploaded previously (e.g., to the author's FurAffinity profile) but cannot have featured in a previously published anthology, short story collection, novel, etc.,
• The content of the submission is at the discretion of Transform Fiction. Transform Fiction has the right to reject at submission, specifically (but not exhaustively) if: the submitter is under the age of 18; the submission contains inappropriate themes [e.g.,] glorification of violence, non-consenting adults in sexual situation (rape), incest and intrafamily, excessively dark horror, etc., Themes considered 'triggering' are unlikely to be published.
• Prior to publication, no submissions will be shared with anyone outside our editorial staff. Individual work will be treated as confidential material. Submitted files accepted for publication will be stored to enable editing/formatting and privately archived. Submitted files not accepted for publication will be deleted after review.
The Editorial Team
For the pilot, the following 'staff' members of Transform Fiction are volunteering their time for the proof-of-concept. If the pilot proves successful, we're hoping to grow the team.
Zen — https://www.furaffinity.net/user/zen~
Marquis Orias — https://www.furaffinity.net/user/gr.....dmarquisorias/
Nall — https://www.furaffinity.net/user/azimuth/
Final Remarks
If you have any questions about anything here, please send over an email or drop a comment below. Given the amount of feedback we've got on this project so far, we're all really excited to see where it goes. This initial pilot proof-of-concept is going to be (admittedly) a little scrappy with the aims of ascertaining: (1) community interest; (2) the workload it'll take to run a magazine, and; (3) further feedback on the project to produce something the community can get behind. Thanks so much for all your support!

Starting a regular TF-themed writing mag...maybe...?
General | Posted 4 weeks agoHi all!
Having talked with Marquis Orias for some time about this idea, I've put aside some time to (hopefully) bring it to life. This leads on from a series of conversations about how to both build and also bring together more of the furry writing community. I'd like to run through my proposal and ask: Is this something you'd be interested in?
"Transform Fiction" would be a digital magazine partially inspired by the concept of classic pulp science fiction novels. It would consist of submitted stories from (furry) writers that feature transformation of all kinds — Anthro TF, TFTG, gender TF, pooltoy, inanimate, etc — written in all kinds of prose, such as: speculative fiction, character dramas, smutty escapades, horror, and so forth! Transform Fiction would be structured as an anthology of stories, including NSFW smut assuming these are porn-with-plot (i.e., transformation is the primary focus). The structure could also include cover artwork, an interview with an author, and recommendations/reviews for other furry media.
Transform Fiction would be a free digital magazine in .pdf format. It wouldn't be able to pay authors for submissions but building on my network and those of other writers, we hope it'll become one of many foci in the community — a thing which can be shared, posted, and enjoyed in a way that'll (1) celebrate great TF fiction out there and (2) get readership for new undiscovered creators.
Any thoughts, ideas, and feedback is welcomed! If you think you'd like to get involved either by submitting something or in organising the magazine, drop a comment too! I can't promise anything at this point — just doing a little research — but your response will be appreciated!
Stay amazing,
Zen

Updates — Commission Break / Projects / Patreon
General | Posted 2 months agoHi everyone!
This is an update from me about plans for the rest of the year. Apologies for the wall of text…
First of all, I'll be taking a short break from commissions. I wasn't expecting to be as burnt-out as I have been this past couple of months. A combination of life changes (like moving in with my partner!), work stress, and the culmination of tiredness from publishing my novel has finally caught up with me — I need a rest and a creative reset. I won't be disappearing! In fact, I've taken the decision to block out some time so I can: (1) rest because yes that's a priority; (2) work on personal stories alongside book promotion, and; (3) put together a community TF writing website I've been researching. See my last journal for more info and to share your thoughts: https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/11187413/
One of those projects I need a little more time for is a new-ish 'meta' Twine interactive story called "The K9 Condition". This is a complete rewrite and remodel of an interactive story I took down years ago for content tags that didn't represent my writing. However, I enjoyed the storytelling elements and knew I had to revisit the 'meta' style. I'm making the game accessible to Patreon supporters first to be my guinea pigs — playtesting and providing feedback before I publicly launch the game. The Transformation Game Jam (https://itch.io/jam/tf25) is running again this year, so my goal is to launch when submissions open at the start of November. If you want a sneak peak then please consider supporting me on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/c/zenyote. Supporters get early access and the chance to vote on upcoming stories — including the Diane Foxington story I've recently uploaded! Thanks so much!
I also want some time to go through my reading-list backlog. I've been making a real effort to read through more stories, both to learn more about writing myself and to explore the huge breadth of creators here on FA. So! If you've got any story recommendations, please drop a comment below (whether this is something you've written or a recommendation for somebody else!). I can't promise to read everything but I'll try my best! Stories should be posted here on FA and if you'd like, please include a one-sentence summary of broad themes. That'll help me and others to find what interests them!
Thanks greatly for all your support! My plan is to open for commissions again in three months' time (January 2026!), but there'll be plenty of stuff posted in the meantime. Watch this space!

Thoughts (and looking for suggestions)!
General | Posted 4 months agoHello all,
A lot has happened over the past week, namely the itch shadowban (a developing situation: https://itch.io/updates/update-on-n.....#addendum-faq) as well as the introduction of the UK "Online Safety Act" which is largely incoherent and risks limiting both freedom of expression and access to information. On top of this, the topic of Google Docs has also re-risen to the surface — specifically, take-down of content from Google Drive if deemed in breach of T&Cs. The latter suddenly feels (whether true or not) a much bigger risk than it once was. Notably, because so much of my furry writing is enabled through Google Docs collaborative features.
So, I'm writing this journal to ask for your feedback on two things:
(1) Are there other writing apps you'd recommend with the same collaborative functionality of Google Docs? I'm currently trialing Ellipsus. Any other suggestions would be great! I need something which I can (a) write and format [a4] text documents with, and (b) link to others so they can view/comment on the document.
(2) What do you think about a website specifically tailored for furry transformation fiction? I.e., a library/gallery of stories from authors (that wish to contribute) hosted independently — meaning I'd help set up and run this personally — that isn't relying on the whims of giant websites. The website could be a repository or something more active, depending on what the TF writing community wants.
Any comments are welcome, though please just in response to these two questions. The culmination of recent events is a LOT to take in right now. It's very important we talk about them together, but this journal isn't the place for that : )
Thanks so much. Stay awesome, stay wholesome, stick together and help each other.

Phase Three — One Week on!
General | Posted 4 months agoHi!
A huge thank you to everyone that's supported the release of my novella, Phase Three. One week later and the mad rush ahead of publication has subsided, and honestly I'm humbled by the response. Thank you all so much for supporting my work. For those that want to grab a physical copy, there is still availability (as well as the eBook too, of course!):
Book only: https://ko-fi.com/s/40127d12b9
Book bundle (with original art and postcard print): https://ko-fi.com/s/23cdde181d
eBook: https://www.kobo.com/gb/en/ebook/phase-three-1
The book is also available to buy from The Book Badgers, if you want to support a UK vendor!: https://www.thebookbadgers.uk/produ.....7ETXRNDEBYQQPW
If you're still unsure what the book is about, then imagine a post-apocalyptic alien robot invasion, 'hard' sci-fi story with an anthro snow leopard character, additional anthro transformation, awkward British characters, and non-binary representation. I can't say too much more without giving away the ending…but read the blurb below for a better summary!
Two decades have passed since Earth was ravaged by extraterrestrial, self-replicating robots known as the machines. Wrenn was raised in Fort Rush, a utilitarian outpost constructed to withstand the apocalypse. When exploring a ruined city, she encounters Delta, an anthropomorphic snow leopard with a mysterious past and a bold plan. Can they stop the alien machines for good? Unwittingly, Fort Rush becomes the staging ground for a battle that may define the future of Earth. The conflict between civilisation and invasive robots runs parallel to themes of transition, gender, and what it means to be human when humanity is all but gone. For some more literally than others.
As always, wait…perhaps for this one time .pdf is not the best way to read! Try a paperback! : P

Phase Three: a Preface and a Thankyou!
General | Posted 5 months agoHi everyone!
I'm super excited to announce that my debut novel will be available to buy in about one week's time. I'll be offering physical paperbacks via my Ko-fi store and eBooks via Kobo — the latter is now open for pre-orders: https://www.kobo.com/gb/en/ebook/phase-three-1
This project has been a huge undertaking. The roots of the novel trace back to 2017, when I started writing a fanfiction piece that took three years (and a few hundred-thousand words) to complete. I learnt so much from long format writing and developed a story which, tied within the constraints of fanfiction, always felt like it was something more. The world changed in 2020 and I moved towards writing short-form, adult stories. Unexpectedly (though perhaps not, in hindsight) writing has since become a huge part of my life. I've become a regular poster here on FurAffinity, but I always wanted to write a book. Recently, my motivation has grown though primarily for two reasons: (1) my nostalgia for long-form writing, and; (2) now having something very special — an audience.
Writing is a form of creative expression that is meaningful to me. I've been writing consistently since around 2012, self-taught through trial and error, and primarily…well..with just me sat at a computer. Seclusion is what I dislike about creating stories. When I started writing on fanfiction.net, I found a tiny but supportive group of people to bounce ideas off, including a fantastic co-writer. Skipping ahead through tumblr and AO3, here I am on FA writing kinky smut because it's such a wholesome community. I write commissions because I really enjoy working for and with other people. By a combination of my compulsive writing output, the wholesome furry community, and dumb luck, I've ended up with one heck of an awesome following — far too many individuals to name who have been so supportive with comments/likes here on Furaffinity, chatting on Discord, and (more rarely!) in IRL too. You've been my cheerleaders, unknowingly fostering my creative drive to sink time, effort, and emotion into a book. Thank you.
The theme(s) in Phase Three changed a lot from my initial plan. I remember an old meme on Tumblr that claimed writers rarely have a grand scheme, imagining instead one or two really cool scenes before desperately wrangling a story to give them context. That's always been the case for me. However, what was meant to be 'filler' became — almost subconsciously — a canvas for expression. Gender and transition developed into key themes. Anthro transformation crucial to the storyline evolved beyond a purely logistical plotpoint into a metaphor that had me thinking about a lot of stuff. I poured more of myself into this book than I'd planned. Honestly, it felt refreshing to consider (post)transformation as a mechanism for the characters to explore hurt, comfort, and reflection; perhaps mirroring my own. Over the past few years, I've personally experienced the adventures of coming out as non-binary with a name change and the joyous chaos of exploring how to express myself. Yet somehow, I forgot what was right there under my snoot: writing as a form of self-expression. Phase Three wasn't what I initially planned but wow, it was what I needed. Writing in a longer format is both terrifying and exciting in the way only a blank piece of paper can be, but it offers the freedom to find your voice. So if you want to read a story that blends a post-apocalyptic siege with science fiction robots, meanwhile providing commentary on non-binary gender, with awkward British characters, all written by a queer furry author — I'd appreciate you giving this book a go. I promise it's more well-written than this train-of-thought journal!
Lastly, I want to finish with a statement to ensure this is noted down as a public record. Generative AI was not used to write anything in this novel. Spellcheckers were implemented, these arguably use machine learning algorithms to analyze text for grammatical errors/typos, but that application of such software is a world away from feeding prompts into ChatGPT (or similar) to poop out 'content'. All the words and the ideas within Phase Three are — painstakingly — my own.
I'd like to thank everyone one last time, whether you're interested in purchasing my book or not. This is a very exciting time for me and I'm grateful to share it with you all! : )

Commissions (and Confuzzled!) Update
General | Posted 8 months agoHi all, just a quick journal with a few updates!
1) I'll next be opening for commissions during the second week of April (most likely the 7th of April). Normally, I prefer to open slots at the start of the month, but I'm taking a short break at that time — Note: I'll only be taking Word Scoots (~2,500 words) this round, for reasons discussed below!
2) My first book (novella!) has progressed significantly. I'm in the final stints of editing/formatting whilst reaching out to printers, so it's all starting to feel very real. It would be awesome to have everything ready at the end of spring, meaning I can begin offering books over the summer. There's a LOT more to do before that, however, and I am making time to ensure everything is ready. Watch this space!
3) This year, I'll be attending Confuzzled for the first time! The con takes place at the end of May here in the UK! I'm excited to attend writing panels, as well as meeting people I've only chatted to online (thus far!) — if you're going to Confuzzled and want to say hello, drop me a line! It would be awesome to meet more TF fans : )
Thanks everyone so much for all the support, stay amazing!

ADAPT early playtesting [Patreon]
General | Posted 9 months agoHi all!
First of all, as the journal title suggests, a new and improved version of my Twine CYOA game "ADAPT" is now available for playtesting on Patreon: LINK! Resource collection and survival mechanics have been improved, with some additional masturbation scenes. The complexity of the project has rocketed as it's grown; I'm writing less story and coding more functionality. What this really means is that I've fallen out of love with the concept a little — playtesting will continue ahead of pushing out a final update publicly in approx. a couple of months.
Alongside WIPS, I'll continue to use Patreon to post early access to stories before they are posted publicly here on FA. Thanks to everyone that's chosen to support my work!
All my effort will now pour into completing and preparing to publish my upcoming novella! Watch this space!
Thanks everyone and stay awesome,

Tagging Stories on FA: Recommendations!
General | Posted 10 months agoI've been meaning to write a journal on this for a long time! Now Fur Affinity (FA) is starting to implement tag functionality — see 09/01/25 update — this is a good time for the community to reflect on best practices. Disclaimers: (1) these are just my suggestions, notably from a writer's perspective; (2) this is English-language-centric, and; (3) specifics are for the Transformation (TF) community, more on that at the end!
Thanks to the following for their help with this:

Good Practice
• At the time of writing, FA does not recognise tags that are only two letters long. This means that the initialism 'TF' for Transformation is not searchable. Only use tags that are three letters or longer.
• It is important you tag your creations, allowing people to find your work and/or provide content warnings for people to hide content they don't wish to see.
• For character-centric creations, tag characters that are present. For furry (self-)inserts and/or original characters, tag the person's username. If you're uploading somebody else's work to archive it within your gallery, tag the username or whoever made the creation.
Standardisation
As a community, it's important that we standardise what and how we tag creative works. Having consistent tag usage across the community will make it easier to find creations and/or hide content others have blacklisted. Currently, FA requires a minimum of three tags when uploading. Tagging bolsters the community by making creative works more accessible. In my opinion, tagging terminology should be impartial (e.g., what's present regardless of personal relationship to that kink), self-descriptive, and grandparent in semi-systematic tags the TF community has holistically developed.
Basic Recommendations:• For international English-language usage, American English (rather than British/'Oxford') is widely used within the TF community. Tagging should be within American English for consistency: e.g., feminization has a 'z' and wish_fulfillment has two 'll's.
• Combine key phrases/collocations with underscores. Currently writing "muscle growth" will tag the two words separately: "muscle" and "growth". Instead, use an underscore "muscle_growth" to preserve the meaning.
As a rule of thumb, use tags that you see other creators using. If multiple tags exist for the same thing, then use them all! Having more tags will increase the chance of your creations being found.
Tagging Dictionary
I personally think some kind of tag 'dictionary' would be useful for the community, primarily to improve conversation amongst TF fans and help with content curation (similar to e621). Transformation has connotations around certain concepts that are unique to our sub-community. Developing a list of common definitions would be useful. I'm not qualified to decree suitable definitions/terminology outright, but below are suggestions derived from how I implement some common tags. Note that some of these descriptions are wholly/partially inspired by the fandom transformation wiki
Transformation (TF)
noun A (drastic) change in physical appearance and/or form
Tags: transformation
Transgender (TFTG)
noun A misnomer for a (drastic) change in sex, gender, or both. Such a change may be described by binary physical sexual characteristics (male-to-female: MtF; and female-to-male: FtM) independent of gender identity.
Tags: transgender, genderswap, genderbend
Feminization
noun A progressive change in physical appearance and/or behaviours typically associated with femininity. Thus, potentially synonymous with 'transgender' albeit typically evolving (exaggerated) stereotypes associated with women. Feminization may be used within kink subcultures to denote a reversal of gender roles without physical changes.
Tags: feminization, sissification
Mind Change
noun A change in personality, behaviour, and/or thinking habits. Mental changes commonly occur parallel to a physical transformation, where an individual's mind alters to match their new appearance.
Tags: mind_change, mental_change,
Corruption
noun A form of physical transformation and/or mental change wherein the subject grapples with their physical self, morals, or sense of identity — resisting an ultimately irresistible change. Corruption can be contextualised as positive or negative, as long as it's controversial within context.
Tags: corruption
Permanent
noun A physical and/or mental change that lasts (or is intended to last) indefinitely, making a transformation irreversible.
Tags: permanent
Future Topics of Interest
• Distinctions between anthro / feral / demi within the TF community
• The extent of mental changes / instincts / personality shift — i.e., defining 'identity death'
• Consistent multi-word tagging solutions

Happy New Year!
General | Posted 11 months agoHi all!
Wishing you a happy new year and all the best for 2025!
I've seen a number of creators do a similar post to this, and it's inspired me to also ask:
(1) What story upload did you like from 2024?
(2) What would you like to see more of in 2025?
Stay wholesome and awesome, wishing you all the best for the year ahead!

Patreon and Commissions for 2025
General | Posted 11 months agoHi everyone!
As a quick announcement: there are currently five early access stories viewable before public posting on FA. I'm also running my first poll on Patreon (and will try to run this semi-regularly) voting for upcoming personal stories to write — ideas from my list, many self-indulgent, that I'm sure fans of my work will enjoy too! If you'd like to support what I do then consider subscribing over on Patreon. Thank you!
I'll be opening slots in January for stories to be completed over the next three months, with the plan to open four times (once every three months) for the rest of the year. I'll aim to open slots in Jan/April/July/Oct at the start of the month. The next slot opening will be Sat 4th January — I'll stay open for 2 days to allow time for interested furs to submit commission forms. All the info about my commission process is within my Handbook.
My prices have increased slightly to accommodate (1) increasing living costs and (2) better quality as I learn more and improve. I'll now be charging $35 USD per 1,000 words, meaning:
Word Scoot (~2,500 words) = $85
Short Story (~5,000 words) = $175
Long Fiction (8,000 words+) = $280+
Any questions, feel free to drop a comment below!

Plans for 2025!
General | Posted 11 months agoHi all, this is a quick journal to share updates and plans for the year ahead!
Foremost, I'm really excited that my first novella is undergoing final edits! There's still a lot of work needed to get this into print and availible to buy — I'm hoping to publish in spring of next year! I've already commissioned some AMAZING art by Royz to accompany the story (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/58965594/). Infrequent updates regarding progress will be posted on my BlueSky.
2024 has been a big period of personal growth for me. I've been diving into the furry community more in person (meaing UK fur-meets) and I'm super excited to be attending Confuzzled next year. It'll be my first furry con! After attending Shiftercon online a few months ago, I've been energized about the TF community — you're a wholesome bunch! It'll be awesome to meet more TF fans in person!
I've also experimented with my writing process this year. Regarding my commission process, I will be operating on (1) three-monthly commission slot cycles, starting in January, and (2) a price increase to match inflation and my developing skill. All of this will be explained in my commission handbook and a later journal update. I'm planning to run commissions through the entirity of 2025 and write more personal works too, with polls (via Patreon) to decide story content. I've still got a twine game in the works and (fingers crossed) I'll have time to itterate on that too!
Lastly and most important of all, I want to say a HUGE thank-you for you support! It's humbling seeing how many of you enjoy my silly stories. It's been an awesome year. Thanks so much to everyone that's supporting me on Ko-fi and Patreon — you're keeping this coyote caffienated, hydrated, and waggy-tailed!
To everyone who celebrates this time of year, happy holidays! Stay wholesome! Stay awesome!

Patreon
General | Posted a year agoHi all!
After chatting with several furries, I've been persuaded to go ahead and create a Patreon page. If you enjoy my stories and would like to support my writing, you can now subscribe and get: (1) early access before I post on FurAffinity, and; (2) voting power on future stories! Woop!
https://www.patreon.com/c/zenyote
I will continue to accept tips on Ko-fi and will be using its website features when I come to publish my book next year! : D
Thank you so much everyone, stay amazing and wholesome!

Ko-fi Suggestions?
General | Posted a year agoHi all!
I've been considering adding more benefits to my Ko-fi page, partly to get more involved with the community now that I'm moving to a three-month commission cycle. I have two ideas I'd love to get feedback on! Currently, I am thinking about either:
(1) A themed story each month where subscribers can suggest and vote on what gets written!
(2) A CYOA-styled story where subscribers can suggest and vote on the next path to take. Each passage could spin out into one or multiple possible transformations, ultimately with bad (or good!) ends. This could also involve 'commission' style bite-size chunks to purchase through Ko-fi — including for non-subscribers. The CYOA story would be updated approx. weekly and essentially beta-tested by subscribers before going public via itch.io / FurAffinity.
And if these aren't what you're after? I would love to hear other ideas!
I'm sticking with Ko-fi (rather than Patreon) and these types of ideas because I do not want to create needless paywalls. All of my stories will continue to be visible here. Stories I write are posted early-access to Ko-fi subscribers
Thank you all for reading, and please let me know what you think! I'm really grateful for the community I've developed and want to keep things fresh and interesting for you all!
Let me know your thoughts!

5000 Watchers AMA — Thankyou!
General | Posted a year agoA huge thankyou to you all for supporting my work! I can't believe what started as a silly little hobby writing transformation stories has spiralled into this. I'm really grateful for the furry community and all the wholesome peeps I've met through it — honestly, I can't put into words just how much I appreciate your support and enthusiasm for my creative work.
To mark this milestone, I'm hosting an AMA (ask me anything): just drop a comment below! I'll do my best to reply to everyone but please (i) no weird/creepy comments, and (ii) keep things respectful and positive!
Stay amazing,
Zen

Update!
General | Posted a year agoHi all, just making a journal to fill you in with what's happening with me — as well as asking for a little bit of help/feedback!
The good news is I've got a first draft of my book written! It's going to be a novella at ~45,000 words with post-apoc and sci-fi themes. Set approximately twenty years after a self-replicating spacecraft arrives on Earth and overwhelms civilization with robotic machines, survivors attempt to overcome the threat before it's too late. The book is furry adjacent given one of the main characters is an anthropomorphic snow leopard and there's some TF involved (no spoilers!). The plan is to likely self-publish…but I may take a punt with furry publishers. I'm also considering hiring the skills of an editor to take a look at the manuscript — so if you have any recommendations for experienced editors (or are one yourself) send me an FA Note/email if interested!
Regarding writing on FA, I'll be continuing to upload stories weekly. I'm aiming to reopen publically for story commissions around the start of October — hopefully to take me through until the end of the year. From experience, the monthly slot system has proved too much work and a three-month (quarterly) time scale might be a better model to adopt!
The brief period when FA was hijacked was a worrying time — I've found a community on this website and that's something I don't want to lose. Creating my own website to post and read stories online is something I've been considering. Not to migrate away from FA but to have a "flag standard" to gather around if needed. Indeed, I've been imagining a community-led site which posts stories from multiple authors alongside some kind of monthly emailing list. GrandMarquisOrias and myself have been discussing this in addition to another project: running a community suggestion box to better define a "dictionary" of key content tagging words, especially for story writing. I'll throw my hat into the ring and say those are two things that would be helpful for the online transformation writing community — (i) a website of curated works, and; (ii) a dictionary of terminology for consistent tagging of said works. Everything I've mentioned is still at the consideration/brainstorming phase but if you've got thoughts/feedback/suggestions then do drop a comment below! I can't guarantee I'll have the time to bring anything to fruition, but I think it's important to start the conversation all the same!

Update!
General | Posted a year agoHi all!
I meant to write this sooner but things have been a whirlwind up until yesterday! I've wrapped up a doctorate and now (apart from a few admin tasks) I've got a break until mid-September when my next job starts. Woo! I won't be opening for commissions during this time — and likely not until later this year once everything has settled. Burn-out is on my doorstep so I'm forcing myself some time to: (i) rest and relax, and; (ii) finish writing the first draft of a novel. The latter is something I've repeatedly hit a roadblock with, paused for a while, and then returned with fresh ideas to push the narrative a lot further. This time for sure!
In the meantime, I've got a backlog of stories that I'll be posting weekly over the next couple of months. If you want to see them before they go public, ko-fi subscribers (link) can view pdfs via my Discord server. For the future I'm planning to return to commissions, finish another instalment of my current twine game, and write some personal work too.
All the best and thanks for your awesome support!

Commission Slots for April [CLOSED]
General | Posted a year agoHi all!
Slots are now open for story commissions! The cost of commissions can be seen on my Commission Sheet. Please read my Commission Handbook for all the details. Examples of my work can be seen in my gallery.
I apologise for the sporadic openings. To clarify, I plan to open consistently at the start of each month from now until approx. August, after which I'll be having a break. The only caveat being that I may have to create a waiting list, delaying stories a month if I get too many requests. If that does happen, I'll make it clear in a journal. Any questions or queries feel free to leave a comment below or send me a note!
