I'll continue to work on the Burdens story series, but I'm going to slow down a little while I work on a secondary project.

I've decided to turn Simultaneous into the first of a series (as in, I decided to ok-go on the series). I'll be working on the next part, though there are some grammar mistakes and plot holes that I had been fixing lately. If you find any, please let me know.

The story series will be labeled "Knights of Syz" and will follow the stories of the individuals important to such a thing (As in, the knights). Once each story is done, it's pretty much done. I will most likely never write about the otter and ferret again, if only in mention or remembrance. Their relationship is up to the audience's interpretation and imagination. Once the other stories pop up, the same rule will generally apply, unless I find that it needs to stay inflexible for plot purposes.

If you have any questions about that kind of stuff, please let me know, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.



I had mentioned before that some of my work is in the same universe. My husband remarked that it was a sad universe, and I guess that's the case. Burdens and the soon-to-be series Knights of Syz are in the same world, and most of the others can be assumed to be, except Kirren's New Life (which hardly anyone has read anyway, so disregard it - I need to make major changes to it one day). Not really news, just a fun fact I guess. As the author, it's kind of just me spewing bullshit at this point, so take it how you will.

Looking through craigslist ads for animals, tons of puppies and kittens and dogs and cats need new homes and can't find anyone.
So depressing, I want to adopt them all. :(

Was coming back from grocery shopping, crossing the crosswalk when the light told me to. I always hesitate to cross for a moment before actually doing so, 'cause I don't want to get run over by the crazy drivers that look like they're about to run that red light.
Got a half-hearted angry one liner telling me to learn how to use the crosswalk by the chick that almost ran the red light.

There is an odd beauty in witnessing a life ruined
A sort of cruelty in such a life in flux
But also the grandeur of seeing potential reduced to null
Like those who sit on the sidelines
Watching and saying, "That would be horrible"
Yet staring intently, captivated by the subtle destruction.

How strange are these people
Yet how plentiful.

Some don't really believe in it. Some do.
Some think you can go against it.
But how is that not following it? Perhaps it was fated.

The choices we make are irrelevant. They hold no ground on how things will happen
Because really, things will happen.
They might bring us to them,
Or they might push them away,
But it will happen.
It's inevitable.

Sometimes we see these choices, and we think how we'd never be in the situation where we'd have to choose
We like to remain optimistic.
We think, it might be bad if that choice came about.
That it only happens in stories
That it never would happen to us
But it does.
And when it does, it is bad.

Worse than we imagine.

But that is that. There isn't much to do other than accept what has happened and get by
Because the things that happen, happen
And we live and abide by the strings that bind us
Called fate.
Hold dear what we can
Because if we lose it, we lose it.

If we gain it, we gain it.

And if it happens, it happens.

Sometimes, what's good for some, is bad for others.
Actually, that's all of the time.
There is never a true win-win situation when things need balance.
And this needs balance.
And right now, it's unbalanced.
Heavily unbalanced.

So we'll lose.
Others will gain.
That's life.

Because the choices we make
Don't really shape what will happen
Because what will happen, will happen
And when it happens
We choose all we like
But it happens.
