A journal by  let made me realise that I too have been here on FurAffinity for 20 years, and to the exact day! (I did have a prior account that was banned however, lol). Making me an old-fart of an Otherkin/furry (remembering the days of VCL, Draconic, and Elfwood too)!

It's been an ... interesting? varied? mad? bat-shit crazy? traumatic? experience here I reckon. Still plodding on with various art and crafts and mucking about; finding time to do bits here and there; working on several character (yet to be revealed) costumes that I plan to wear), and getting more into leatherworking being the priorities.

First off; I just got a new laptop. Finally!
I was getting very exasperated only using my smart phone for internet stuff (it sucks for watching videos).

I do have art to scan (if my scanner is compatible with this new machine, ha!) and more to follow once i've coloured them.

Life is a bit of a circus? at the moment, packing stuff up while in the hope i will get a different (safer) place to live, so there's boxes everywhere and i have even less idea where anything is in my flat. I desperately want to be moved by end of this year, sick of this fascist (yes, flags on every lamp post) street and the scummy chavs and breeders that inhabit it, creating so much trash and hazards.

Healthwise things are pretty much the same, got a collection of maladies; still need new knees, still have arthritis.

Next year I am hopefully going to my first (full attendance) furry convention/s, ScotiaCon and then possibly ConFuzzled.

I'm also absolutely besotted by my three pet Hognose snakes, and my other non-furred critters, so my time online (Bluesky) consists of photos and the antics of them.

Not dead.
Reached the miserable age of 43 years yesterday, but had a great day wandering around a mixed bag of a tropical/butterfly/wildlife conservation park type place with a couple of friends. Feel more like 63 nowadays, got the arthritis, and a whole catalogue of health conditions to contend with.

Anyway, in amongst a lot of insanity going on right now (looking to move to more suitable housing etc), I have been doing the odd bit of art since my hand is now recovered from the surgery. A few sketches, but mainly personalising tops, t-shirts, and shirts with fabric paints etc.
Added to the collection of various art or craft projects i want/intend/spontaneously deicide to do.

Well, doodles and sketches anyway.

Been having fun creating scruffy and messy sketches as a way of easing the recovery of my hand, so far it's healing well!
EDIT:
I'll eventually get to finishing the sketches i've done in the past few days and progress onto my usual inking and colouring, although a couple may end up more of a mixed traditional media experiment; and will share the finished works here. Needless to say, the Year of the Snake it most definately is and begining to look promising in those regards, lol. Plus more art of that eldritch dragon called Zha'krisstol and other incarnations.

I will try my hand at most creatures, except humanois faces or mech.

Nothing in the works artwise, as i have finally had surgery on my dominant hand for carpal tunnel syndrome. So as of this moment my right hand is in recovery. Can't drive until i get the stitches out, off work for longer (oh what a shame, no dealing with idiots in retail, pity, NOT!).
Annoying and boring af though now i'm effectively stuck at home. However I was prepared, so i've a got a bunch of old and new books to read (especially a bunch of 70's, 80's, and 90's fantasy, sci-fi, and horror/chiller fiction i've got back into). And also the good ol' dvd hoard, and of course my pets are reasonable enough to handle one-handed.
However, all this (and seeing the arts of many talented folks on Bluesky) is making me want to do so much stuff myself right now, but i can't! Guaranted this desire will bugger off when I can eventually get back to arting.

Anyway, still knocking about.

Been a bit radio silent lately.

Very little in the way of art has been attempted, let alone don, except a couple of sketches whilst 'helping' at a comic & creatives convention. To be honest, done bugger all of anything, been too fatigued or unwell to do much of anything as my collection of health conditions conspire against me. That being said, I'm hopefully getting one issue treated - i'm getting surgery done on the carpal tunnel syndrome in my right (dominant) wrist in January! However, it means that i can't work after for 3 weeks, and will struggle on crutches with just my left hand (yet to figure out how this is gonna pan-out, lol).
So, unless i'm able to do any artwork/crafting before January 2025 end, or learn to draw left-handed (unlikely); commissions will be closed until at least March 2025.

And now i've started the process to try and get more suitable housing, due to long-term and worsening health conditions (as well as getting away from shitty neighbours - threats made against me, causing pollution, anti-social behaviour, etc), moving house is definately on the cards, and all the pandemonium that accompanies. Also; how does someone with limiting health issues & mobility, currently in a 1st floor flat, has a lot of possessions, older and further away relatives, friends that don't drive, and low income, manage to move house? Logistical nightmare it is. I really need to have a clear-out.

Here's hoping 2025 will be better.

Possibly a quite ambitious idea, but I kinda want to spend november drawing snakey-themed art, call it 'No-legs-vember' concept so to speak; very unlikely that I will draw something for every day (certainly unrealistic for me).

Nothing much to do currently (aside from a slow illustration project and ANOTHER costume/character suit design) and need some motivation.

Since i'm still unable to create my own tradional art (or any art/craft projects) at the moment, and for a while longer; I'm doing a mass watch and faving of traditional media artworks on here and other online galleries.
I feel that it's getting forgotten and left behind in the vast mass world of digitally created work. Don't get me wrong, digital stuff is great too (except AI, that is NOT art, and can fuck off), but that's the world I come from and hope to continue with.

Anyone got any suggestions for mainly Traditional Media artists and artwork to watch, please do, It would be much appreciated.

It's just art amongst many things in my life that are looking bleak.
The combo of carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis, and minor fractures in my hands has made it impossible to do any art for many weeks now. Also badly affecting day-to-day tasks to the point to creating risk; so the menial things are becoming a challenge. Mediaction can only do so much (only just makes pain tollerable), so I'm on a waiting list for appropriate treatment. No idea of timeframe tho.

But I can at least get out and about to enjoy nature? Nope. Not easily. I'm currently getting about on crutches due to now both my knees failing me (arthritis in both, but damaged the ligament in my right) since both are unpredicatble I need the crutches as support so I don't hit the floor.

I have been very busy with other things, but nothing to really show for it (aside from being exceptionally physically and mentally knackered).

Oh yeah, and I'm still working in supermarket retail now in the run-up to xmas and all that bs.

Rhetorical question, but, what the heck is going on with all the internet?! It's a different waft of shit every day. I'm just gonna carry on with my own dull presence, nothing exciting or unique going on here.

Gotta try to dig myself out of this financial fuck-up I find myself in, that was completely out of my control. I need to raise £350 asap.

Not that i've done much art lately anyway, but it's gonna be even less for a bit. The carpal tunnel syndrome in my dominant hand has returned with an absolute vengeance, and my other hand too (but that's not much good for drawing anyway). Now I've caught up with working out what got lost in dead laptop HD land - Art that I can remember wasn't much, but luckily with trad media & still having original stuff, I'm able to rescan! Everything else is on USB sticks or saved on my phone.

How to computer?

I got my laptop working now with a reconditioned replacement Hard Drive.
Starting from scratch as the old HD is dead beyond reasonable recovery (I don't think I had much on it of importance, but thankfully I can't remember).

I've also had the steroid treatment on my hands, so art can recommence!

My laptop pretty much died, it was already struggling with being old; so accidentally knocking fizzy pop over it REALLY didn't help. It blue-screened and dumped windows off its system.
Gonna try to get the hard drive recovered cos there's art, photos, and videos on it.
Mostly use it for scanning, editing, and uploading art; and for checking up on here.

So, likely to be even less active here than usual for a while longer.

Sodding typical that when I've got many art things I'm in the progress of (various drawings and my dragon costume project) the carpal tunnel syndrome in my wrist decides to get much worse. Due to have a steroid injection to help when? (preferable to surgery for now) But have some medication to try to help until then. However I still can't hold any implement safely in said hand (dropped burning hot porridge on self and almost the frying pan) pen, pencil, cutlery, whatever.
So it puts a firm halt to creativeness for now, which is annoying as heck; I do try specific exercises, wear compression gloves, and a wrist splint at home and work. It's just a pest that I use my hands a lot at work (out th' gutter w' yer!) and that only exacerbates it!
This means that commissions are closed for the near future.
