The story goes on for as long as people comment on it. You can post more than one sentence to it, but you can't post twice in a row. Honestly it's turning out pretty frickin' cool already and I'm excited to see where it winds up!

But anyway it was my birthday on Monday and I had a wonderful day. Between every awesome person who wished me well and drinks with my buddy after school, things were really good!
We just wrapped up our first round of assignments this year, and now we're getting the second installment started. Graphic design is super interesting! I'm glad I'm taking the program.
That said, time to get out the door to class! So for when I get back, how are things treating all of you so far? :)

General | Posted 11 years agoAll right! I'm settled in to the really, really tall land of Toronto. And by "settled in" I mean I still have to unpack my clothes and organize things, but I only have 3 boxes left to empty, and I bought an extension cord so my Cintiq is set up. And we all know that when the art station is set up is when you've really moved in!
Guys I am so stoked to be going to school next week! Just really, really excited for it.

I really want a big online art jam

Kind of like those dual streams that some people do, but with a bunch of artists working instead of just 2, and one big chat that everyone could contribute to instead of separate chat rooms.
I miss having company while I draw and I miss being inspired by other people's work as I go.
I have no idea how one would set this kind of thing up, though, or if it's even possible. Maybe in Google Hangouts with the screen share function?
Of course that would necessitate knowing other people who also wanted a big online art jam.
Well, a girl can dream!

I'm doing things a little differently this time! I'm opening commissions on JUNE 13 (FRIDAY). There will be a link to my commission form provided. Commissions will be open for 24 hours and then I will contact the people whose commission suggestions interest me most! I have no slot limit in mind.
If you have more than 1 idea you are welcome to toss more than 1 form my way.
People on Weasyl will be able to apply for commissions starting on JUNE 12 (THURSDAY).

How's everyone? Got any new year's resolutions? Given up on any new year's resolutions? ;)
On my end 2013 was a hectic nutty year and I'm glad to turn the page over. I'm looking forward to the year ahead though!
I have school acceptance interviews scheduled for this month, so I'm working hard every day getting my portfolio done. (Except right this instant, obviously, which I have set aside for all of you wonderful chaps.) But I'm excited to get started and I'm crossing my fingers that I'll get in!
Which brings me to my next piece of news. It's my dear
lisky's birthday today! So here's wishing him a happy birthday even if he does feel old now. <3

So it's good to see FA back up. I spent the last while updating my Weasyl gallery -- which you can find here:

I'm really excited for the site. They're really eager to take suggestions from their userbase and are looking to be as good as they can be. I think it has immense potential and I really want to see it succeed.
I may eventually move there entirely, but I haven't decided. For now, I have my stuff uploaded and I'll be uploading there first. I'll likely be offering some Weasyl exclusives in the near future as well. :)

While I was moving over to Weasyl, I discovered this Chrome extension, Waxpost, which allows you to directly transfer a submission over to Weasyl from FA, DA, SoFurry or InkBunny. You can find it here:

How it works: Once you've installed it, you go to any of your previous submissions on DA, FA, SoFurry, or InkBunny; click the little red button in the top corner; and bam, it'll have everything filled out and ready to crosspost as a submission on Weasyl. Super handy for those of us who don't like the hassle of filling everything out twice -- it copies keywords, title, description, and of course the file. All you have to do is minor tweaking, selecting the rating, and choosing the thumbnail.
This tool is awesome. If I hadn't had this tool I probably would never have moved over to Weasyl simply because of all the stupid busywork involved in re-uploading submissions. So if a large gallery move is daunting you or a friend you know, this is an excellent way to deal with it. C:

I bought so many hammocks for them that there's going to be a 2nd level of their cage made entirely from cloth. xD

If I get a spot in the Alley on Saturday I'll be selling sketches. ONLY sketches, mind you -- I didn't actually think I'd be attending any cons in the US for the duration of my stay in MI, so I didn't bring any of my traditional art stuff with me. xD;
SO if anybody's interested, I'll have five sketch spots to fill if I get a table. Otherwise, I'll be doing a sketch stream when I get back, haha.
Looking forward to meeting up with some folks when I get there. :) And maybe experiencing gluten-free deep-dish pizza? I hear this is a possible thing. And if it is, I MUST experience it. O_O

I want to do some warmup sketches, and since this worked so well last time I figured I'd open the floor again to willing participants. I think I'll be doing 2, but we'll see if I feel like more later!
These are not first-come first-serve, I'll be choosing based on what I feel most interested in at the time.
If you're interested, please comment with an IMAGE REFERENCE and with three words that sum your character up (eg "racer, ambitious, cocky" or "cheese, cute, petite" or "plaid, punk, 80s"). Please AVOID using overly-general words like "nice" or "good", as those are difficult to work with!

Anybody out there like Tarot?

The illustrations are really pretty and the animal choices well thought-out. I particularly enjoy the Two of Cups illustration that's posted as a preview! I'd love to have it as a print <3 Well, really I'd love the art book and the cards in general, but yeah.
And actually, since I'm curious, who here likes Tarot? Does anybody here read the cards?

I tried very hard not to thank anybody who didn't want those kinds of shouts, including people who cleared their shouts regularly -- so apologies if I missed a couple of you in the process.
It was great to find so many awesome artists and interesting people among you guys! C: And, of course, I appreciate every single one of your watches. Thank you, everyone! And I hope to have some work up for you to view soon :) I have been working steadily, it's just all been from the ground up. xD
