General | Posted 3 years agoSomething a little different. My latest story, Confluence, is available exclusively on The Voice of Dog podcast, as read by Khaki Doggy.

Commissions closed for now
General | Posted 3 years agoI am temporarily closing commissions until October 2022 at the earliest further notice. I have a few things to keep me occupied (literary and otherwise) between now and then.
I am, however, always open to discussing commission and story ideas. It'll just be a couple months before I can take on anything new.
Thank you all for your ongoing support!

REMINDER - Wild North Story Competition - Closes 18 Sept
General | Posted 4 years agoJust a few days left to enter,
and have the chance to win a prize!
https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/9943735Wild North Online 2021 - Story Competition (with prizes!)
General | Posted 4 years agoWild North Online 2021 Story CompetitionSo, who fancies a story competition? (With prizes!)
The competition will follow the con theme – ‘Tails of the Seven Seas’. How you interpret this theme is up to you. Will you take us on a swashbuckling adventure in the age of sail? Will it be a story about pirates and their dastardly deeds, explorers setting course for far-off shores, or maybe naval sailors fighting for king and country? Perhaps you have a more modern tale in mind – with submarines or even ocean liners. Or something more historical – we’d certainly love a Viking story!
HOW TO ENTER
• Email your story to wildnorthuk[at]gmail.com
• Please put the words ‘Story Competition’ in the subject line
• Tell us which name we should refer to you by
• Any file format is fine, as long as we can read it
The closing date for entries is 11.59pm on Saturday 18 September.
Entries received after this date will not be included. If you have trouble entering, please let us know, ideally before the closing date.
RULES
• Maximum 750 words
• One entry per person
• No strong language
• No politics, hateful material, or controversial topics
• No copyrighted characters
• ‘Fantasy-style’ fighting and peril are fine – we’re expecting a few pirate-themed stories, after all. The minimum age for a Twitch stream is 13 years, and we could potentially have viewers of all ages. Think Redwall or Pirates of the Caribbean for the right level of peril. So nothing graphic or excessive please.
Your story should ‘mostly’ centre on anthropomorphic animals. Again, this is open to interpretation. Whether your animals talk, walk on two legs, or are a bit wilder in nature, we’d love to hear their stories.
If we feel your story could be edited to fit the rules, we will contact you to work something out.
LIVESTREAM
The stories will be read out during the livestream, and the judges will share their thoughts, before making their decision.
JUDGING
Stories will be judged on:
• Following the theme
• How well they're written
• Overall enjoyment
The judges will check stories for suitability. If they need to be amended, you’ll be informed.
Judges are independent from the Wild North team, and are free to make decisions as they see fit.
PRIZES
There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place
- 1st place: £50 Waterstone’s voucher (or equivalent store if the winner is non-UK)
- 2nd place: a 2000-word custom story by Ziegenbock
- 3rd place: a 1000-word custom story by Ziegenbock

General | Posted 7 years agoYes I'm open for commissions again! Details below.
Once more, I am offering two kinds of commission. If you’re unsure which is best, message me, and we can discuss.
Standard - £25 GBP
(Approx 2500 words)
A brief story, typically one scene, perfect for established characters.
Examples: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/17417144/ and
Longer - £50 GBP
(Approx 5000 words)
More detail, more space for character and plot development.
Examples: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/23880347/ and http://www.furaffinity.net/view/19553989/
What I enjoy writing:
Furry/anthro, erotic fiction.
Most interests and kinks not listed below (though feel free to message and discuss).
Most settings, in particular post-apocalyptic and wilderness settings.
Feral characters.
Clean animal fiction.
What I don't enjoy writing:
I prefer not to include humas, robots or sci-fi settings.
Specific interests: very few, among them scat, babyfurs, and herm characters.
(Again, if you're unsure I'll write something, please ask. I'll probably say yes, and the worst I can do is politely decline!)
How to commission me
- Send me a note here on FA with your idea (names, species, setting, etc). Your idea can be as simple or as detailed as you like.
- I will then get in touch with you, and we will take it from there.
- I will send you a first draft, and you can suggest any changes, to make sure your story turns out the way you want.
Payment is through PayPal. My address: ziegenbockfur[at]yahoo.com

Birthday Wish List 2016
General | Posted 10 years agoThis goaty is celebrating his birthday on Sunday 24th January! As family and friends are stumped for present ideas (as they were at Christmas), here are a few pointers. This list may change, but it's a start.
- Anything goat or opossum-related!
- This pendant: http://www.welshgifts.co.uk/circlet.....mber-pewter.ir (the closest to Zieg's pendant I'm yet to find)
- A Swiss army knife
- Books (non-fiction): Vargic's Miscellany of Curious Maps
- Books (fiction): Stephen King, Terry Pratchett, Jack London, Neil Gaiman
- DVDs: anything considered a 'classic' (message me and I'll say whether I've seen it)
- Contributions towards a new computer (Of course I don't expect anyone to buy me a computer. But contributions, or maybe peripherals, would do nicely.)
Hope this helps!

Fearlessly Into 2016
General | Posted 10 years agoOne year ago, I set myself a simple new year’s resolution: be fearless. At that time, everything was at a crossroads: my job was coming to an end, and the prospect of weeks or even months of uncertainty and joblessness loomed.
That was when I decided: something had to change. I couldn’t go on living that pathetic, doubtful and uncertain life. On top of that, there was so much more out there to see, to read, to discover, to experience. Yet there I was - “worried, scared, confused and lonely”, as one good friend put it. That person never learned how this world works, and had no desire to learn. He kept making excuses for his shortcomings, even subconsciously. He kept living up to others’ expectations, for no good reason. And he just wasn’t happy. By the end, he simply had nothing to offer – to himself, or to the world.
So I had a choice: carry on being unhappy, or try a radical solution. And the solution was so obvious – in fact he’d been travelling with me for nigh-on six years. A mountain goat whose personality I’d been developing and aspiring to, even as my “real” life stuttered from one dead end to another. Well, rather than simply aspire to that, why not ditch that pathetic persona and embrace who Ziegenbock is? Not just for a few hours every other Saturday, but every waking moment?
And you know something? It paid off.
- First, in February, I landed a new job, twelve days after my old one concluded. And honestly, it’s so much more pleasant. Better atmosphere, better team, a supportive boss, perks, bonuses... I 'm so glad I didn’t settle for the other place. But to do that job required such a mental shift. Could I have done it a few years ago? Absolutely not!
- Speaking of mental shifts: this past year or two, I have acquired a marsupial side. Delph started off simply as a bit of fun, and a desire to be something different. But now he’s so much more. A persona in his own right, bold, downright frightening at times, but ever so exciting to embody.
- Which leads to the next, and probably biggest, development this year…
In March, a rat emerged from the post-industrial depths of the city of Sunderland, and immediately the two of us struck up a close friendship. Opossum and rat, we scavengers two. Yet I’d never have imagined that, three months later, he would ask me to be his mate! Step forward Tyde
. My rat. My mate.
- I took a more hands-on approach at my local furmeets in Birmingham, working with my superb team and all of our friends. Birmingham Furs, “Brumfurs”, reached 100 attendees in December, and I am so delighted for all our support. We have a great venue, a great team, and among the best attendees imaginable. 2016 looks promising, it really does.
(I also worked on the Londonfurs staff, helping to welcome newcomers and to run the fursuit walks. I have since stepped down from that role, but the experience and lessons have been invaluable, for myself as well as for Brumfurs.)
- I am still fencing, training each week and sneaking in the odd competition. I fitted in the training for three half-marathons. And I tried my hand at karate too.
- There were no holidays this year, but plenty of weekends and short breaks. Particular highlights were my visits to Swansea, Cardiff, Liverpool, Llandudno, Whitby, London, Leeds, and many journeys to Newcastle! Let’s also not forget Confuzzled: seven days of madness, furriness and fun. (I just read my convention report again, and all the memories came rushing back. Check it out.)
- I’m done with politics. It was an academic interest, a scientific interest. But in the end, my interest became impossible to separate from all the ideology, dogma, and downright rubbish which surrounds that world. I even made it through an entire general election without entering any discussions. Maybe I’ll go back in the future to argument and dissent. Not right now though. I’m too busy being happy.
And that just sums it up. I am that much happier than 12 months ago. I’ve got my independence, enough money to get by, a stunning mate, friends, a good job… it took a lot of work and there’s a lot more work to do. Yes I’ll admit there’s lots I’d like to have started in 2015, and lots I still want to accomplish. I want to get my schedule even more in order. Write more, run more, get to the gym more. Enjoy the books and films I’ve been missing all these years. Keep singing. Be a quicker and stronger fencer. Speak my languages whenever I can (Eurofurence should help.) And spend every minute possible with my Rat. However, in terms of laying the groundwork, there’s been plenty of good progress. I’m sure ideas and avenue will continue to pop up during 2016.
I am also looking forward to travelling again. Tyde and I will be visiting Paris, and I hope to tour Germany again. There are many places I’m hoping to visit: North Wales, Scotland, maybe even Canada.
So in many ways, there’s still a distance to go. But if 2015 was a new beginning, 2016 will be even better.
Let’s do this.
Fearlessly yours,
Ziegenbock

Step forward Tyde
. My rat. My mate.- I took a more hands-on approach at my local furmeets in Birmingham, working with my superb team and all of our friends.
Fearlessly yours,
Ziegenbock

Remember our trip to Wonderland last weekend? How could we forget!
So I have finally recovered after those seven gloriously mad days. This was my third time at Confuzzled, and my sixth convention overall. Some came to the West Midlands from hundreds or thousands of miles away. Others (like me) were somewhat closer. But we all came for one main reason: to celebrate our love for all things Furry. So then, let us venture back down the rabbit-hole for my final report on Confuzzled 2015.
Furs and Friends
What can I say? I know I’m fortunate to have met so many wonderful people these past five years. But honestly, this year, I was blown away by how friendly everyone was… literally everyone. Before I’d even got in the door on day one, people were chatting with me. And often, I barely walked five metres without someone greeting me. I am overwhelmed at how many amazing people I have met – and continue to meet! To everyone who spoke, fursuited, ate, drank, played games or simply hung out with me… please just keep being your amazing selves.
Thanks go to (brace yourselves):
Akia, Alice, Amethyst Mare, Ant, Arcais, Autumn, Axxis, Blacksnip, Booshie, Brambles, British Foxy, Cavie, Chad, Charlie Bear, Charlie (Pyro Paws), Cosmo, Damien, Damon, Dougal, Draken, Edward Fuzzypaws, Ellis, Equium, Fabi, Faruku, Felder, Fiberkitty, Freaky, Gabs, Geo Cyberwolf, Geo Panda, Guystar, Harlequeen, Hawker, Hawthorn, Hazel, HKK, Indi, Jax, Kenai, Kivuli, Lapres, Lev, Mikune, Mishka, Misty, Muddy Fox (x2), Neonpossum, Niro, Ocio, Omni, Oracle, Ozzy, Philpem, Ponpon, Q-DK, Ram Brissot, Razak, Rizzo, Russ, Sacred, Scuppet, Sethvir, Shchenya, Shenstone, Skavi, Skruf, Snackcat, Sticks, Tamari, Taya, Thayne, Tobias, Toshi, Tyde, Typhon, Vasmeth, Vimto, Wally, Weatoef, Xolani, Zane, Zippy, Zuki.
If we spoke, and your name is missing here, please comment below!
Security
Yes, you know the drill. For the fourth time, I donned my brassard, wired myself into the hive-mind, and resumed my duties keeping all you party-animals happy and safe. It made for a week of 6am bedtimes, caffeine trips, and German dispatcher-dogs barking in my ear… on what is essentially my holiday this year. Of course I’m mad for doing it. And of course I’ll do it all again next year.
Confuzzled 2015 Security Team:

Eurovision
I haven’t missed a single Eurovision since 2004, and this year, I was fortunate to join some other true fans.
neonpossum
pyropaws
bunnybrambles. Together, we cheered (and laughed) at this year’s entries, and also reminisced about Eurovision classics from years gone by. Thank you all: you are the true heroes of our time.
Possum-Con
So I’m fursuiting in the lobby the first night. All of a sudden, two other opossums appear. Now if you’re a fox, say, and there are fifty other foxes in the hotel, that may not seem remarkable. But when you’re a rarer species, it’s always a delight to meet your kin. And that night, I could scarcely imagine just how much of the super marsupials I’d see this year. They were everywhere: on notebooks, on fridge magnets, and of course in artwork (NB watch out for my future Dealers’ Den commissions). All in all, we had a reasonably sized passel of possums – at least five of us. Look forward to seeing you all again next year – just remember to stay off the roads.

Special Mention
And finally, but by no means least, huge thanks must go to
gamepopper, my room-mate for the third year running. Despite all the disruptions, miscommunications and late nights, we stuck together and looked out for each other. A true friend indeed. And yes, I will be bringing more Poppets for Popper next year.
Next year
So, next year… yes I’m already making plans. We know the theme is ‘Carnival of the Night’, when we animals will reconvene for the dark masquerade. Costumes, dances… already the plans are developing in our minds. But until then, or at least until the next furmeet - farewell my friends.

Goodbye 2014, Hello 2015
General | Posted 11 years agoHappy New Year! 2014 is long over, 2015 has begun, and I finally have a chance to put hoof to keypad and set out some thoughts. It is heartening that the past twelve months have been positive for so many people, especially when 2013 was so poor.
As is customary, I will start with a few of my own highlights from 2014. So what were they?
- In a surprise turn of events, I became a Brum Fur! Having found a new job at the start of the year, I moved to a whole new part of the country. While I was sad to leave Wales, it did mean I could spend much more time with the West Midlands furs and be properly involved with their meets. I am now proud to be an organiser of the Brumfurs meets. Organising last month’s Christmas Party was just the culmination of months of successful meets with some of the most fantastic people I could hope to meet. However the Brumfurs staff and I will not rest on these successes. Rather, we promise to make 2015 the best year for Birmingham meets yet.
- I returned to
confuzzled, embarking on an epic 20-minute journey to spend a week with furs from every corner of the UK and beyond. Oh, and to do a little Security work as well.
- After a two-year absence, I returned to Eurofurence, for the convention’s first year in Berlin and for my first stint on their security team. I also spent a week in the south of Germany in the company of two good goaty friends of mine
bocki and
knuddelbock.
- I also dipped my hooves into organising the largest regular furry gathering in the UK (and possibly the world): Londonfurs! With special responsibility for the Newcomers’ Corner initiative, I hope to welcome many more furs in the coming months.
- I am still fencing twice a week, and I ran two half marathons in October.
- My friends continue to astound me with their generosity. Whatever the situation, I can always count on their support. I am so lucky in this respect. When I was facing Christmas alone, up stepped
, and thanks to them, I enjoyed my best Christmas for years. Not to mention all the meets, house parties, fursuiting and impromptu gatherings we have enjoyed this year – too many to list.
- I got back into my writing! Expect plenty more stories in the near future.
Now, some less positive news. The start of 2015 looks set to be full of uncertainty. Several of my close friends already know what has happened, and if any of my friends want to chat about it, they can. But suffice to say, I’m standing on the precipice. That’s good. I’m a mountain goat, I’m at home on precipices. But in short, some big changes are about to happen. Let me explain.
For the past five years or so, I have been living two lives. One life is my furry life. Every time I have travelled to a meet (even 15 minutes away), I have become a different person, and in that life have been all my successes of late. (The proof? Look at my highlights for 2014. Six out of seven are furry-related).
The other life is what I’ve previously called my ‘real life’. For sixteen years, everything seemed to go right for that person. He trotted off to school, did his homework, was polite to everyone, and passed his exams. Then, over several years, everything unravelled. But life didn’t change for him because he himself didn’t want to change. He kept studying politics even though he despised it and it cost him his friends. He took advice from people who barely knew him, and who knew still less about our world of opportunities. And even worse, he was too spineless just to follow his heart. That person is dead, and he deserved to die.
That now means my only persona is Ziegenbock. And no, this doesn’t mean I am going to wear a tail all day, or start bleating at strangers. It’s about taking his personality, the personality which I have been cultivating for five years and which I represent through a white goat, and living it, properly living it. Surefooted. Independent-minded. Hungry to the top. Always curious and always willing to learn, with a deep love for science, technology and the arts. But also ingenious enough to read beyond the base facts and really learn how this world works. And the days of feeling inadequate about gaps in his knowledge? Those are gone.
Therefore this year, I am only making one New Year’s Resolution.
Be Fearless.
Whatever I do this year, whenever and however, I will leap straight in and do it without a hint of fear. Besides, what reason do I have not to be fearless? Nine times out of 10, I get what I need anyway.
But herein lies a problem. Zieg is practically starting from scratch. Ambition is nothing without knowledge and skills. I have been bequeathed some starters (a love of languages, a head for numbers and facts, a decent singing voice), but now it’s up to me to find my passions and to master them. It will be tough, make no mistake. But hey, the climb will be worth it for the view from the summit.
2015 will be a year full of opportunities. Which ones will I be fearless enough to take?

Story Commissions - Closed for now
General | Posted 11 years agoEDIT: All the slots were taken in less than a day. Thank you for your support everyone!
Exactly as the title says, I am opening up for Story Commissions. If you've ever wanted to see your fursona or character feature in their very own story, this is your chance.
I now offer two types of commission. Please get in touch with me, and we can discuss which type of story best matches your idea.
Story Shorts - £10
(Approx 2000-3000 words)
A brief and high-quality story, perfect for a scene between two or more established characters.
Example: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/14062354/
Full Scene - £20
(Approx 6000-7000 words)
A more detailed story and plot. Here I can explore your character and their backstory as well.
Example: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/14862631/ and http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13863920/
For more examples, feel free to look around my gallery. As well as furry erotic fiction (my main area), I will accept clean stories, and I am happy to write about most things in a furry/anthro context. There are just a few things which I'd prefer not to write about. These include scat and babyfurs. Feel free to ask me if you're unsure.
How to commission me
Send me a note here on FA with your idea (names, species, setting, etc). Your idea can be as simple or as detailed as you like. I will then get in touch with you, and we will take it from there. When I have finished a first draft you can suggest any changes, to make sure your story turns out the way you want.
My Paypal: ziegenbockfur[at]yahoo.com
Before I start work on your story, I will ask for payment. Please send payment as a 'personal payment', not as a 'good'.
I am opening for four stories this time.
1.
magnusstreifengrauer - Paid - in progress
2.
kaguranitrogat - Paid - starting soon
3.
silverrat - Paid
4. dugong - Paid
Any other questions, send me a note. I look forward to hearing your ideas!

Total Germany: Eurofurence 2014
General | Posted 11 years ago“Und es wird wahr:
Du hast keine Wahl,
Denn die Ziege ist mein Tier.“
Germany. A country I have come to admire over the past decade-plus. And with Europe’s largest furry convention now in the German capital, I had the perfect reason to explore a part of Deutschland which, astonishingly, I have never visited before. In one way, this was a trip to a familiar country with a familiar convention at the end. But in so many other ways, this journey was completely different.
Part 1 – Alles ausser Hochdeutsch
Before EF, my goat friends were kind enough to welcome me for a few days in the south of Germany.
bocki was my host, and
knuddelbock (JayJay) joined us from across the border in Switzerland. This visit was much more focused on spending time together, exploring the town and country immediately surrounding this corner of Baden, and wrapping my ears around the distinctive Swabia dialect after years of only learning High German.
My journey started on the stroke of midnight. A train, a coach to south London, and a flight brought me to the Continent in just under eight hours. Unfortunately the Swiss proved less than keen to let me stroll into their little nation, when an eagle-eyed Customs official stopped me for carrying two bottles of alcohol. Remember, because Switzerland is outside the European Union, you have to declare everything when you enter. To be serious though, I’d love to know how he picked me out. Did they look in my bag, or was it just a lucky spot-check?
Unfortunately I seemed to have brought the Great British Weather with me when I arrived in Zurich. Nonetheless JayJay kindly met me at Zurich Airport and brought me into Germany… then into Switzerland, then back into Germany. Coming from a part of the world with no boundaries, it’s fascinating to see the labyrinth of borders which criss-cross this region, carving the land between Switzerland and Germany. Most of them are centuries old, and one wrong turn can send you straight through a toll booth and onto the other side. Still, by the time we reached our destination near "Konschdanz" (Konstanz), the weather had cleared up, and while it would be mixed throughout my stay, there were still plenty of clear days to get out and about. One highlight was dinner at an amazing Mexican restaurant. Most of the time though, we were happy to relax at home, swapping stories and watching videos, while I introduced my German hosts to such British cultural highlights as Fursty Ferret beer and The Wurzels.
Interlude – Reise Reise
Eventually though, the time came for me to travel right across Germany for my next event. With my bags all packed and the sun shining, I set off for an entire day in the company of Deutsche Bahn. My first train took me on a winding route through the heart of the Black Forest, with steep wooded hills and log cabins around every bend. Frankfurt was my first change, and from there on, Germany’s state-of-the-art Inter City Express took me to Hanover (an interchange which furs from the Magdeburg days will remember), and then on into Berlin. Stations drifted past… Spandau, Charlottenburg, Tiergarten… before, they were just names in travel guides and on city maps. But now they were here, and very real, and as the bright lights of the Estrel Hotel grew ever closer, I was only getting more excited.
At ten hours, it was by far my longest train journey ever. But would I do it again? Absolutely! Plus I can also add Frankfurt to my list of places visited (of course stepping out of the station counts!)
Part 2 – Die Tiere Sind Hier!
So here I was, in the German capital for the first time, at this brand new hotel. Over a thousand attendees were already there, and another thousand were still to arrive at our very own Tiergarten. But I wasn’t going to let those small details deter me from my Security duties!
Within our team of roughly 40, the level of camaraderie was impressive. With Dhary Montecore and Gyroplast at the helm, our team was ready for any challenge, big or small. And seriously, one could not wish for a better team to work with. I cannot wait to see them next year, ready to face the madness all over again. Gosh, we must all be crazy.
Eurofurence 2014 Security Team: Aphinion, Ayun, Bezel, Brookida, Capeh, Cheagle, Clover, Codewolf, Crimson, Cueball, Dainty, Dingo, Ginge, Io, Junmap, Karuno, Kisu, Kittehbit, Lyserc, Morkai, Naut, Nex, Nov, Nyemi, Ponch, Raider, Rashkar, Ravell, Remco, Rity, Sibertiger, Silwer, Smove, Skyhoof, Tjikko, Token, Tristan, Vixus, Vulpes, Wolffire
While Security took up the bulk of my time, there was still plenty of time to enjoy all that EF had to offer. There was always someone to meet in the bar, whatever the time of day or night. The camp fire proved a huge draw. Plus there were events for everyone, including two engaging fursuit panels: a general panel run by Silverfoxwolf, and ‘Scary Fursuit Acting’ run by Sturmschwinge and her menacing werewolf assistant.
But of course, EF is all about the people. With furs from over 40 countries, this is truly an international convention of the highest order. I want to thank everyone who I had the pleasure of meeting that week: Ani Boxer, Autumn, Blacksnip, Faruku, Fawnspots, Freaky, Garnet, Gregory, J, Niuxii, Q-DK, Rabid, Raika, Rizzo, Sacred, Skapup, Snackcat, Sora, Syruss, Taya, Tazara, Twice, Weatoef, Zane… you are all amazing. (And apologies to anyone I have missed out)
My compliments to Linda Blümel, Convention Manager at the Estrel (whose fursona is also a mountain goat!), and the whole hotel team.
Thank you as well to Kittehbit, my room-mate and brother-in-paw on the security team.
And finally, a special mention to British and Suburban Fox. Thank you for travelling with me on our little excursion into Berlin proper on the final day. A fantastic way to round off my stay in Germany.
And so, life carries on. However, the countdown to Confuzzled has already begun, with registration opening on 1 September. That makes it less than 9 months away.
"Das ist Nümberwang!"
Eurofurence 2014
General | Posted 11 years agoAfter many months of waiting and preparation, it is almost time once again for the largest furry gathering in Europe. For its 20th year, Eurofurence is making its way to the German capital, Berlin, and after a year’s absence, the mountain goat is returning.
In fact, I am already in Germany. I arrived here on Friday for a weekend with furs in the south, and on Tuesday I am making my way to the capital by train to join in the furry festivities. Eight hours in the company of Deutsche Bahn – hopefully it will be more eventful than my 20-minute road trip to Confuzzled.
After two years with the Confuzzled security team, the German security tigers have now drafted me into their European contingent. So there is a good chance you will see me around the convention centre - by all means come up and say hello, any time. I am taking in a couple of events myself, and I will have time to catch up with folk. Anyone who fancies meeting me for food/drinks/etc., do feel free to talk with me about it!
In the meantime though, for everyone who is going, have a safe journey and see you there!

Short Story Commissions - Closed for now, open for enquiries
General | Posted 11 years agoExactly as the title says, I am opening up for written commissions. If you've ever wanted to see your fursona or character feature in their very own short story, this is your chance.
For examples, feel free to look around my gallery, or to take a look at these examples (all NSFW):
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8681006/
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8825500/
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7848641/
As well as furry erotic fiction (my main area), I will accept clean stories, and I am happy to write about most things in a furry/anthro context. There are just a few things which I'd prefer not to write about. These include scat, babyfurs and hard vore.
Price: £10
For this, I am not going to set a word limit, because the final length will be different depending on each individual idea. However I will guarantee a mimimum of 5 pages, in any case you will get a full, unique story featuring your characters.
My Paypal: ziegenbockfur[at]yahoo.com
Before I start work on your story, I will ask for payment. Please send payment as a 'personal payment', not as a 'good'.
I am opening for three stories to begin with. Current turnaround time is roughly a week for each.
1.
silverrat - Paid - Complete
2.
magnusstreifengrauer Paid - Complete
3.
skrufhusky - Paid - Started
4.
kaguranitrogat - Reserved
Any other questions, send me a note. I look forward to hearing your ideas!

Confuzzled - Mission Report
General | Posted 11 years agoHIYA!!!
Wow. These furry conventions just keep getting better! Last weekend, I had the honour of joining 1,081 of my fellow furries for the biggest event in the UK Fandom calendar. The destination? Right here in the West Midlands. The event? Why, none other than Confuzzled 2014, returning for its seventh year (and my second), and this time transporting us to The World of Tomorrow, a glimpse of a future that never was. And so, here is a light-speed recap of my fourth furry convention.
The venue
Unfortunately, much as I would like to recall an epic journey to the convention... there isn’t one. That’s because I live barely a stone’s throw from the convention! I packed the car, drove for 20 minutes, and that was my journey. That didn’t bother me though, for two reasons. Number one: once I am at Confuzzled, I never leave the site. That means it still feels like a holiday. Secondly, once the convention finished, there was no long PCD-filled journey halfway across the country. Again, it was 20 minutes back in the car, and an afternoon to re-adjust to everyday life. (But enough of that, back to the convention)
The hotel staff were… that’s a tricky one actually. I understand that not everyone had a positive experience regarding the hotel staff, and I myself had several long waits at the bar for drinks. However for me, there were three small stand-out moments of service: the Spanish chap who welcomed me to the hotel and checked me in; my housekeeper; and the lady in the canteen on the final morning.
And of course, how could I forget my fantastic room-mate,
gamepopper. Always there for a chat, in the room or around the convention, I would room with him at any time and at any convention. A truly top cat.
Security
This year was also my second turn on the Security team. Led with superb German efficiency by Dhary Montecore and by Crimson, from door work to marshalling the Fursuit Parade, we watched each other’s backs, and if you don’t mind me saying guys, each of you is a real credit to the team and to the convention. The experience, the professionalism, the camaraderie… honestly, I could not ask for a better team to serve alongside.
Now, a few of you came up to me during the convention, and said they hoped I would find time to relax, that I wouldn’t be too busy. And, well, I did! In fact this year struck a nice balance. And I still managed to meet more or less everyone I hoped to. So would I work for Security again? Without a doubt.
Confuzzled 2014 Convention Security: Ash Weststar, Ayun, Bad Boy Bunny, Bezel, Capeh, Codewolf, Cueball, Dief, Drayygon, Flake, Ginge, Io, Lonestar, Mitu, Mooie, Nightpaws, Raithsphere, Ravell, Remco, Rwylin, Shiinsuh, Silva Wolfie, Kitt Spidox and Torikabuto.
Fursuiting
Finally, after four years of watching from the sidelines, I managed to fursuit at a convention.
Delph Possum is a gorgeous suit made by the talented Pickled Lemur, and here he was the perfect excuse, in between busy shifts, just to be somebody completely different. (By the way I do not have a fursuit of Ziegenbock, so if you thought you saw one, it was likely my friend Ram Brissot.) I will be honest though, I would have liked to fursuit more at the convention, meet up with people I know, and get some more photos. But hey, with Security duties, there was always going to be a trade-off. I am still looking forward to the official photos. Plus he was invited to a room party, so can’t really complain!
Events
Many of the big-ticket events I sat out this year, not only due to security, but also due to scheduling clashes. But there was always an hour or two for a few get-togethers. The Hoofers and Horses vs. Bears and Wild Animals meet was interesting. A heated debate pitting carnivore against herbivore to determine... well, which is the best. Under the moderation of Erythro, we beasts clashed over which side offered the best services to humans, to mythology and, ahem, to pornography, as well as who were the most compassionate (and I am proud to say that we Hoofers won). Felder and Vasmeth, our resident heavy horses, proved themselves formidable forces on the debating floor, and full credit is due to Erythro for taking this event (and the Canine vs Feline edition) under his wing. I understand that the event may not have succeeded were it not for his guidance. It is unfortunate that Erythro didn’t lead the Mustelids and Marsupials vs. Rabbits and Rodents meet as well (which Delph attended as the sole marsupial). However it was still a pleasant environment for the smaller critters to greet each other, show off our fursuits, and meet up in a safe environment free from marauding wolves and big cats. Delighted to see Harlequeen, Cavi, Rattie, Medosai and Nall there, among others.
Fureoke again went excellently. Nothing may ever match the atmosphere last year in the Triumph Bar, but we all still gave it our “best” and enjoyed ourselves in the process.
Dealers’ Den and Art Show... for some reason, I made fewer big purchases this year. It must be a sign of me getting older. Still, I picked up a conbadge from Hazel, ordered another from Taya, and of course I collected my themed badge from Lapres and my room sign from Gallifreyan. Even here, artists were willing to chat, and I had some pleasant chats with Autumn, Rabid, Tazara, Garnet and Rachez.
National and International furs
Another big positive about this convention: I could come downstairs, into the bar, at any time of the day or night, and be guaranteed to find someone to talk to. There were just so many people to meet and catch up with, and I am grateful for every one.
A solid Midfurs representation from Awkore, Chad, Equium, Gabs, Hawker, Lev, Shenson, Typhon, and Vimto.
Oracle and Tobias, the first two furs I ever met, alongside Charlie, Freaky, Niro and Toshi who made the long trek from north-east England.
Ocio with his tartare sauce.
Ant, Blacksnip, Geo Cyberwolf, Misty, Russ, Seth, Snackcat, Thayne and Zuki from down London way.
The Leeds furs! Arcais, Cheetahkid, Lupestripe, Mikune, Phil, Rushy, Skavi, Wally, Wolfiee and Xolani
And let’s not forget Amethyst Mare, Bunny Rah and Axxiswolf who joined us from the beautiful country of Wales.
An incredible range of countries were represented here, and who as always add a whole new dimension to these conventions. In particular I would like to thank Q-DK for always appearing with a friendly smile (and a camera), and Weatoef for our ‘possum talk’ on the final day. There were many other visitors with whom I spoke, including Djem, Fiberkitty, Geo Panda, Kyth, Matoa, Rin, Rufus… and many more besides. (Hopefully I have not missed anybody out.)
Seven days of animal antics have given us hundreds, thousands, of brilliant memories. So thank you to each and every one of you, Staff, Crew and Attendees. And… let’s do it all again soon.
To Infinity And Beyond!
