{{ Obligatory New Year Post of Inspiration and Goals }}
Posted 11 years agoHappy New Year! I was feeling more inspired to write this yesterday, but I didn't want to let myself do it until the new years eve or day of lmao. Oh well. I guess... where to begin?
Highlights of 2014: Moved out of my parents cramped house, got MARRIED. Then went to a bunch of conventions. Witnessed the death of Furlaxation. katalist ordered a partial fursuit that is in progress.
For 2015: Well commissions are going well. Conventions I have planned are MCFC, FWA, GLFC, Anthrocon and then more in the fall. I do still want a fursuit very badly and hope to save up for one. At the same time the lease for my current car is ending in March so I will be looking for a new one that will cost more most likely. So I probably won't be able to effectively save for a fursuit until fall.
And on top of that, I have renewed hope and interest in saving up for and attending SIGGRAPH (short for Special Interest Group on GRAPHics and Interactive Techniques) in 2016. There is no way I would be able to save up and go this year, and in 2016 it will be in Anaheim where katalist's aunt lives. She has offered for us to stay with her which would make getting a trip there so much more affordable. Still expensive because we will have to fly, but I hope I can save up enough to go! Wish me luck! And on top of that will need to work on my animation skills and figure out which industry job I want to prep for. I was very into story-boarding, but have to figure out if I still want to go that route, or concept art, character design, or even animation itself.
We hope to save up enough to stay for a week afterwards so that if anyone wants to interview me I will be around still. And also Katalist and I can finally visit Cars Land that is in Anaheim also! Heeheehee. If, at SIGGRAPH, I do not get any interviews or jobs etc. I will be picking up information on different art schools while I am there as well. There were a lot of schools there when I went a few years ago with my college.
So it would seem that my new years post for 2015 is mostly about 2016... it is important for now because I have to work hard and save up the money and that will take all of 2015. Especially if I also want a fursuit lol.
For 2015, I have been training for a new full time job that is amazing. I love it so much so far and it is more my style than Wal-Mart. I am very grateful for both jobs, but am glad to be progressing. What this means for commissioners is that art production will slow down. Only for the academic year though - it is on a college campus and for the summer I will most likely be back at Wal-Mart with lower hours. If anyone has any questions about when a commission might be done don't hesitate to ask. I work 9-5 every weekday now, and will be doing commissions solely on the weekends from now on. It will slow, but never stop.
I love making furry art, so if you would like to help me get to SIGGRAPH or get a fursuit, please commission me sometime. Either online or at a convention, you know it! Don't be surprised if I get a banner up for the summer for income lol.
Love you all! I enjoy meeting you all and hanging out at cons and can't wait to see what 2015 holds.

Posted 11 years ago**Before you commission me, know that I also work a 40+ hour/week job in addition to my art commissions. Thank you for understanding in advance.**
By reading these terms of service below, you agree to follow and honor them throughout the transaction. Please note that I am more skilled in cartoon style, "toony" animals.
I am good at drawing:
Toony, canines, dragons, expressions, almost any species, romance, couples. I love drawing transformation, pool toys, goo, and some inflation. I can draw copyrighted characters, but a commissioner is paying for the drawing itself. I do not claim any copyright to those characters in any way.
I am not so good at drawing:
Realism, anything mechanical, vehicles, fat furs, hyper-muscle.
Things I will not draw:
I CAN draw nudity, but it will be barbie-doll aka "fluff". No nipples, vaginas or penises. Ask for example if you would like.
No cub porn, intense vore, intense gore, water sports, scat, porn, mutilation. The best way to clarify anything is to ask me what I will or will not draw!
Visual References
I need to have a colored reference of your character such as a reference sheet or badge. If you have no art of your character I would love to create a design based off of your description, however a $10 creation fee will be added for researching. Exact species name required, and as many details as possible! I am not responsible for anything that you forget to tell me. Changes can be made up until inking is started, after that I cannot edit.
Payment Details
Full payment is expected upfront before I begin on a commissioned work. I accept Paypal for all commissions, or cash and credit card in person for works made at a convention or being picked up at a convention.
Shipping Details
Shipping for badges and illustrations is $5 within the USA. Unfortunately shipping does not include badge clips for the badges due to complications with the postal service. If you like you can pick up a box of badge clips at Walmart or another store for $1-$2.
If you are worried that your badge will be lost or damaged in the mail and you would like to purchase insurance for your mail let me know beforehand and we can set this up. But it has to be before I ship your item, there is nothing I can do after I leave the post office. This being said - once I have shipped your artwork it is out of my possession and out of my responsibility. If the artwork is lost or damaged by the post office, that is unfortunately the fault of the postal service. I cannot refund you for the artwork after the artwork has been completed. If you have received damaged products take it up with the postal service. Not with the artist.
Completion Time
Most commissions take many months. This is not due to a particular piece taking me months to make, but it is because I have a list to work through in order. It might take me time to get to your piece. Rest assured when it is time for your illustration the utmost attention to detail and hard work will be put in.
The price of any commission includes one round of small edits, (small adjustments like an expression or hair color) Any large edits, or redraws, or more than one round of edits will need a separate price quote in order to continue.
For peace of mind if a piece ever takes longer than 11 months you are entitled to a full refund, no questions asked. If you decide to take the refund after 11 months, simply email me and I will PayPal you the money back and remove you from the work queue. This has NEVER happened before, but I want you to know your art WILL be done within that 11 month period or your money back.
Order of Commissions
I do my best to do all commissions in the order they were taken. However, certain circumstances can prevent this. Lack of communication can cause a piece to be temporarily skipped. Once communication is found, I usually return to the commission that was put on hold. In general, I work on one entire convention's orders before moving to the next convention. (example: I will work on my AnthroCon commission list BEFORE beginning my Midwest Furfest commission list, because AnthroCon is earlier in the year and those orders were taken first). The only reason I will pull commissions to be worked on sooner is if there was a specified pick up date that the commissioner let me know about AS THE ITEM WAS ORDERED. I need at least one month notice to get a piece done for a certain due date, whether holiday, birthday, or convention. If you would like to speak to me a bout a pick up date, please do not hesitate to email me.
Refunds
I do not give full refunds on any of my completed artwork. After an artist has spent hours drawing a piece, they cannot get that time back, so please respect that this is my main source of income. If you are completely dissatisfied I can PayPal you back 25% of what you paid. PayPal will remove fees from what I send, be warned.
Artist Cancellations
I reserve the right, as the artist, to cancel any commission for any reason and issue the customer a refund, at any time. If I become uncomfortable with the subject matter, it is not right for me to complete a piece that no longer serves my business image. This has never happened before, but it is in my terms of service to clarify. If there is a lack of respect between customer and artist, OR harassment/spamming, I can also cancel for that reason.
Image Rights
I retain all copyrights to the images I draw. I have the right to put my artwork in my portfolio or make prints/t-shirts or other items if I choose to. You are allowed to post the commissioned piece on other websites as long as visible credit is given and my signature remains in-tact. You are NOT allowed to resell or create prints of the commissioned artwork (unless written permission is given beforehand). Please get my permission before paying another artist to color the image. I reserve the right to adapt the artwork for my personal use and/or sales of merchandise. I will never sell merchandise with your fursona, but the base idea of a commission may be used for my shop or dealer table.

{{ Furlaxation 2014 }}
Posted 11 years agoSo Furlaxation is wrapping up, or pretty much wrapped up lol. I am one of a handful of the people staying until tomorrow. Most people left early this morning, not even bothering to stay for Sunday. I roomed with my amazing friends tikikata, lordfenrir, candythecane and hubby katalist.
Friday
Left at 5:30 am with Fen and Tiki for Furlaxation, had a nice breakfast and car drive. Got to the convention and registration was in some random hotel room instead of the lobby. Interesting? And one computer was down and being worked on, out of two total computers. Not too bad then, but hope they got it fixed before it got 'busy'. Artist Alley hours were posted in many places, all different times. Turns out it was 24 hours again despite what the website said, but no real start time so the three of us just went in and set up. knottyascot joined us with another artist, Kiki. That was it for artists on Friday. Many empty free tables abound.
Checked out Dealers Den and they were the same as last year, and many empty tables. The books that I wanted to buy ((New Out of Position and others)) were not even in stock. I talked to the vendor to look at a lot of what he did have and left sad and disappointed even though there are many books I do want! "Oh, I didn't refill the stock before this con." Well you just lost sales. Nothing very exciting for me personally.
We finally got into the room and the toilet didn't flush well and later clogged that night. The girls bathroom downstairs two toilets barely worked and the large stall had the door ripped off and against a wall. And the pool was fricken closed! No hottub or pool for us. The whole convention smelled like mold as well. No sales on Friday for any of our group. We had a great dinner on Friday at Teejay's though and recommend to anyone near Columbus area.
Then Katalist, Tiki and Candy went suiting, it was Candy's first time! And we walked around the convention and went to the game room where they played Rock Band in suit.
Saturday
Sold five commissions, the lowest I have ever had at a convention. Thank you so much to those that commissioned me! Spent the morning doing giftart and art trades before having a commission.
Got to see our artist friend Fig! He stopped by in the evening. One of my convention highlights of amazingness is that Iiiix brought me an autographed Weird Al flag that is from a Weird Al convention, I was so floored and shocked and happy, words cannot describe how grateful I am. Definitely going to hand that up!
Left Artist Alley and had Wendy's for dinner, then waited for Candy's husband and then went to the 16-bit bar that was amazingly fun and super packed. It is a bar full of arcade games that you can play for free if you get a drink. Had three amazing drinks, one of which was blue and had a pineapple and I dropped the pineapple on the floor playing pin ball! So sad, but I got to reconnect with a highschool friend there that I was never expecting to see. It was great! I got to play Gorf and was pretty good! Never heard of it!
Sunday
Slept in some because there was still no threat of not getting an artist alley table at all. Went in and got a table no problem even thought it was later. More artists were in the room, but no one was getting many sales. I finished the few commissions I did have and got them done before they left early, like 2 or 3. Not much promising to keep people there. Later they were having issues with the charity auction, nobody was bidding on anything! Even 2 the Ranting Gryphon came in the Artist Alley and talked to a few about it. Very sad.
I did get to go on my first "suit outing" as Sam Coyote for the closing ceremonies, it was a good little practice for suiting and I had fun! Kept hitting my own nose though lol not knowing where it was. Closing ceremonies did not release any numbers at all. The charity computers were "down" so they could not give the tally for the charity, which we later found out it was $200 total. Attendance was 188. Last years attendance was 384 and first year was 250. So the convention did even worse that its first year. Also throughout the entire convention there were long periods of time that no one was checking badges, so any hotel customers could go in artist alley or the dance. A mom brought here little girl into the Alley asking about nearby food locations and the girl looked horrified at the site of a fursuiter waving at her. It was hilarious because she looked like a grumpy spoiled girl anyways, lol.
For dinner Tiki, Fen, Katalist and I went do BWW and it was amazing! Great dinner! Then we went to Target and looked around and are now chilling in the hotel room because we can't even go to the hot tub... hm. The convention was fun, but there were barely any staff. Artist Alley had no staff and was run by us artists the whole time. Even convention attendees were asking where everyone was. It was like a furmeet that you had to pay to attend more than a convention.
It was great fun with friends and I do not regret going in any way, but I will not likely be back next year unless some serious changes are made. Here's to Fur Reality, my next and well run convention.

{{ IFC 2014 Recap }}
Posted 11 years agoBack from Indyfurcon 2014 and it was pretty fun! Got to room with candythecane, gifn01, pandolfs-parade, and katalist.
I will updated my queue tomorrow, but sales were not good at this convention. I sold some badges and that is about it I think I am adding one thing or two items. On Friday got to register and check in, artist alley opened about an hour late, yay getting there early for no reason whatsoever. After artist alley the roomies and I all went to Applebee's and that was great! pandolfs_parade and I went hot tubbing since we didn't have art to work on yet.
The next morning, Saturday, Artist Alley opened at nine and I didn't sell a single thing until 3:30 so that was very boring. Got to see my friend knottyascot, and nekochen among others! Cafe was great for the coffees but always closed at 3 pm so no good at all for staying awake in artist alley. After it closed we ran to Subway and scarfed our sammiches and ran back to get to the first IFC Dance Competition and it was amazing! Not very long but some amazing dancers and some cute acts. I did get commisioned to draw
and his mate Alkali so I cant wait to post those! I was so honored to draw them! Then we stayed up late in the hotel room and drew badges that night and watched great youtube videos with Neko and had a blast. We all did some art trade thing where we drew with our left hands and I loved Fig's drawing of Infierna so much I paid him to polish and finish it as an actual commission.
Sunday not much doings, wrapping up the last couple badges. Got one last commission order, yay! And then worked and worked, saw more suiters and tried to take more pictures but still doesn't seem like I have many. The fursuit parade actually came through the artist alley so that was great, usually we don't get to see it! And on Sunday went to the pool with all the roomies as well and we had fun tossing a beach ball around that Fig brought. Great idea! Better than just floating... and acting like seals going from the hot tub to the pool in one motion. Sliiiiide.
Look for updates this week on queue and posts because I go to sleep soon... update laterz. See ya at Furlaxation if you're going!
Also my Weird Al inspired YCH ends tomorrow night: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/14389078/

{{ Getting Married ~!~ }}
Posted 11 years agoI don't know how to write long and romantic messages when I am this tired haha. But I have spent this week wrapping up commissions and mass preparing for a wedding because tomorrow I am being wed to
! We have been together for six years, and we met in high school and spent the college years seeing each other once a week, now we have graduated and found an apartment together. There are a lot of memories over these six years, and it is odd to think about the plethora of memories still to be at because being together for the rest of our lives will be so much fun! I am so excited! It makes me nervous and so excited to vow being together forever tomorrow and all that... I mean it's just too many emotions to put into words. You mean the world to me
! I hope we get to go on many adventures together and have grand ole times and stay together through thick and thin. You are too good to me.
Will see some peeps tomorrow lol hope you have fun!!! It has only taken... 2 years to prepare haha.
Oh yeah notes... will be back on FA for commissions, returning to normal life on July 29.

{{ For Those Who Like Long Journals }}
Posted 11 years agoThis is a journal to mark and celebrate that tomorrow
katalist and I will be getting our apartment together, finally!
This has been the worst and best year for us all in one... and it has been rough.
Part of me wishes I had never moved back home with my parents, but at the same time if I did not, we would never have been able to pay for our wedding. It's bittersweet. The only reason I say it was the best year is because it is the first year I met furries and went to a ton of furry conventions ((yay!)). It was perhaps the only positive of living at home.
For those that feel like reading, here is my timeline... move from my apartment of two years back home with my mom, my dad, brother and sister. And my guinea pigs too of course! My first convention: Furlaxation 2013. During which I was in my first Artist Alley and did fairly well, my sister started texting me and saying things were bad at home but didnt want to ruin my trip. Upon returning home my sister informs me that my mom has tried committing suicide by taking sleeping pills because she hated her life so much. This led to a rocky month, being afraid of my mom calling me for fear of what state she would be in and at least once a week coming home to my sister bawling and latching on to me while I have no idea what happened while at work. There was a whole back story that pertains to her boyfriend causing drama and tearing up my family and I am glad he is gone now. My mom returned home and since my mom tried to kill herself in my sisters bedroom it was "haunted" to my sister and she had to switch rooms with my brother.
That was... August or September I believe and only a month after I moved back home. Since then it went up and down. Furlaxation in September was a god-send to break up the irritation work schedule I had at Wal-mart and my family mishaps. I do not remember too much drama then... Midwest Furfest was amazing as well, Christmas I remember there being drama but heck I dont remember what because as you can see coming up events get kind of eclipsed.
Also in November
katalist found his father passed away in their apartment and that was sudden, scarring and unexpected. He called 911 and his mother came right away from GA and we packed up their entire apartment within a week or two. Since then Katalist has been staying in my tiny high school bedroom with me and at his cousin's as well. He hasn't had his own bedroom this entire time, since November! My heart is very happy that he will finally have a home again come tomorrow and not be living out of a tote in my tiny-butt bedroom.
In February I believe I went to GLFC and that was fine, and it was either just before that or just after that convention that my Mom wrote a huge-ass letter to my dad about how horrible he is ((eight pages)) and said she is moving out come March 1st. And then she ran to my grandmothers and took my sister, and left me to answer all the questions my dad had about the issue. And it was not a kind letter in any way so it was very hard for me to deal with. She was very cowardly on this and go figure she got herself kicked out. He didnt let her back in and said to hell with you moving March 1st, you move now. So she ended up living about 40 mins away at my grandmothers with my sister until she finally got an apartment in April I think.
Since then it feels like my mind has been such a whilrlwind of confusion. It sounds so cheesy but it is true. Half the time I don't even know what is upseting me but when I am home in the evening I find myself snapping at everyone, especially Katalist because their the only one I really stand to be around and he really doesnt deserve it. He wants to make me happier but neither of us know what is doing it. When I am at home my dad goes on and on about how much he hates my mother now, and my sister, and when I visit my mom all she does is go on about hating my dad. She wrecked my brothers car and never fixed it and they both go on about that so much. My dad goes in my room when I am not at home and moves things or leaves things in there. I work 9 hours a day and when I get home I don't like knowing people have been snooping around. Also he thinks I do nothing when I have a day off.
I tell him again and again I am doing commission work and after he gets home he just harps on me for not cleaning or other nonsense. To tell you the truth that's why my commissions are so slow, when I have a day off I would normally spend the whole day working on those, but he has gotten to the point of coming into my room so often I can't even work so before he gets home I have to go to the coffee shop and then I cant work on art anymore. It is very nerve-racking to work on commissions this way.
There is a long standing list of complaints on his side and my mothers. At the same time my dad is a great guy and he doesn't know what do to with the family drifting like this. I can tell he is despairing and getting lonely, but he goes about things so wrong it can be hard to help. He has a horrible temper at times and it can make him hard to talk to.
It is not a very comfortable home to live in at all. Between leaving every day to hide at the coffee shop, to not having the a/c on ever ((poor guinea pigs!)), to my mom randomly skipping her bipolar meds, my sister only caring about herself... I just need to worry about my wedding and my commissions and it has been very difficult. The conventions and my friends here are the only ones keeping me going this past few months.
Katalist and I are moving tomorrow ((thank God)) and Saturday is a NW Ohio BBQ, and Sunday is bridal shower, Monday is wedding cake meeting... this will be a busy month and a new apartment for us could not have come soon enough. Ugh!
If anyone read all of that... wow!

My Main Character: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/12629448/
What made you choose the species of your main Character?
I have had three fursonas in the past, all very short-lived. None of them felt "me." When I decided to "join" the furry community I decided to think harder about a fursona. I "felt" closer to a big cat. So then I went through lots of pictures of big cats, looking for one that wasn't overused and unique and felt creative. I singled out leopards, then clouded leopards, and from there to jaguar. Then to make her more unique I puts lots of spikes on her and wings to express creativity and freedom.
Is your character just like you, or how you want to be?
She is more like a part of me... I myself am really nice, modest, kind. Infierna is stronger, bolder, braver. When I feel scared of something or tired of things I try to be like her, for strength.
Does your character have the same personality you have?
She is a little more crude, doesn't hold back like I would.
Does your character have the same dislikes and likes as you do?
Pretty much yeah.
Does your character look like you at all?
Not really. I don't look like a jaguar...
Is your character the same gender as you, if not why?
Yes lol.
Do you have more then one main character?
Just the other, older fursonas.
Do you have a back story for your character, if so does it have anything to do with your own history?
She doesn't have a backstory. She is just me.
Is your character mated, if so is it to your real life significant other?
Yes, my real life significant other.
If not are they looking for a mate, or are they a swinger so to speak?
She has a mate.
Is there something special about your character that you think sets them apart from others?
Her two rows of back spikes.
Do you have much art of your main character?
Not a lot, but starting to accumulate some.
Would you ever consider parting with your main character, if so why?
Not currently, no.
If you suit, do you have a suit of your main character?
No, I don't! If I ever did make a fursuit or commissioned one it would be of her.
Have you ever roleplayed with your main character, or do you prefer not to?
Once. And I would like to again but she doesnt really have a "story" to play out.
Do you consider your main character to be a part of you in any way?
Yeah, of course. The strong and wicked part! Haha.

GLFC Recap and new Queu!
Posted 11 years agoSo it's been a few days, a week almost, since GLFC and I have been too busy since returning lol. I haven't even had time to post this journal! GLFC was so much fun, and the hotel was very nice as well. I didn't leave the duration of the convention I was drawing so much! I made a lot of new friends, like
Nekochen,
Lancaster, and
Skule to name a couple. The commissions I got will be posted hopefully within the next week, and the couple of commissions that I purchased will be uploaded to
infierna as well. Such beautiful art! We all had so much fun in the Artist Alley and I especially enjoyed rocking out to Marilyn Manson, it was extreme! Haha.
My brother,
dingomel came along like normal, and my sister and mother came this time as well. It was different, but they all had fun and my mom has really come around on furries, she really loves them now especially after meeting
tychoaussie! My sister has started designing little refsheets as well and coming up with a fursona for herself.
Oh and did I mention the hot tub? Super nice! The entire pool area was themed like a luau and it was super awesome! Except when it was flooded with obnoxious cheerleaders that somehow ended up with rooms during the convention. Furries and cheerleaders, what a mix.
After the convention I headed to Michaels and bought new ink pens, Faber Castell as recommended by Artist Alley friends as well as a white gel pen.
Oh yeah, queu!

Posted 12 years agoI have had such a busy week after returning from MFF, hence the super late journal! It was amazing - it was a nice change to actually room with other furs for once and I hope to do it again. I stayed up late each night working on commissions and watching animash on youtube with my brother. The hotel itself was pretty amazing, although the entire weekend I did not leave at all for fear of losing my parking spot. I spent all Friday and Saturday in the Artist Alley and met lots of awesome furs, made new friends and reconnected with people I met before. It was the biggest con I have been to so it was crazy! I did not even have time to visit all three of the other artist rooms. I made it through like, one and a half, and the most of the Dealers Den. On Sunday I was shopping in the DD and got to see the Dance Competition, it was so amazing! And then back to the DD and picked up Kyell Gold's "Isolation Play" and "Divisions." And some stickers and certified badges.
It was a wonderful experience and I hope that I can go again next year, right now I am excited to get ready for my next two conventions, Great Lakes Fur Con and FWA!
Right now, listening to the awesome CD by
ziggy-zerda and working on my art list! Yay!
Current Queue:
- Colored drawing of Heidi
- Badge of Lyenuv
Of course commissions are still open it just might take a little bit to get to yours. ;)
