I wanted to be caught up by the end of October.. Fairly obvious that hasn't happened..
Following October, I had a month of family related issues, being sick in various ways through November, having a slightly over 2 week span of literally being unable to work..
And this month.. Well on top of the usual everything that keeps me busy in December, I had an unfortunate run-in with a troll with a superiority complex elsewhere that has been keeping me largely occupied for going on 3 weeks now..
Went as far as almost getting doxxed... Last time i ever stick up for a friend online, I'll tell you that much..
I'm... hoping to make some progress and finally be able to respond to all of my notes after taking care of some christmas related stuff and my mother's birthday in a couple days..
Again, I'm sorry for the delays..
....Can't wait for this year to be over.. x~x;DELAYS..

To those still waiting on artwork from me, WIP's in particular... Don't worry I haven't forgotten about you.
I've simply been held up for a multitude of reasons..
For example the rather invasive dental work I had earlier this week that has made concentration.... difficult..
Or the preceding three weeks of having to take significant extra time out of my schedule to waste it at the laundromat because our washer/dryer is currently broken and in the process of being replaced..
Just lots of little things that have been wreaking havok with my plans...Cute little dragon's with pudgy butts?

Posted 9 years agoOKAY.. So... after a revelation that everyone hates "paywalls" and it wasn't working anyway, I've opened my Patreon content up to everyone.

Patrons now get different rewards, mainly more influence over what I do next.
HOWEVER.. If you want to see me do more animation (that isn't a commission anyway), I need funding...
It's quite simple, if my Patreon gets enough funding, I can drastically reduce the number of commissions I need to pull in, and that means less spamming you with YCH posts. :P
If it doesn't show signs of increased effectiveness in... I'd say less than 3 weeks.. I'll be scrapping the animation idea entirely and going back to the drawing board.
So if you wanna see more of that and less YCH, it would be a good idea to step forward sooner rather than later, and I'd seriously appreciate it.
That said, what DO you guys wanna see that would get you chipping in on a Patreon?

Through a dumb bit of luck, some negotiation, and... effectively going into debt for about 2 years... I've replaced my obsolete and potentially failing 4 and a half year old laptop with a brand new, custom built desktop PC that is MANY times more powerful....
And I'm now using my older, but much larger, higher resolution display from my previous desktop... 24" (I think) 1920x1080 screen with better color depth, vs my laptops 21" 1600x900 screen... So artwork is going to improve..
But, it's unfortunately held me up.. The parts arrived.... much sooner than I expected (holy crap newegg is fast..) and it wasn't something I could just set aside..
I first needed to learn HOW to assemble a PC.... I then spent an entire day assembling it through trial and error which luckily worked out perfectly.... Then I had to install Windows and configure everything, THEN mirgrate my crapton of files over and get everything sorted...

Choosing Unity over Flash - Future plans...
Posted 9 years agoSo... Following the previous journal, I've decided to say to hell with Flash for what I was planning....
Instead I will be using something I have far more recent experience with, is free, and doesn't have any annoying technical problems...
Unity 5...
What is Unity you ask? Oh nothing... just one of the most popular 3D/2D engines in existence right now among indie developers..
About the only advantage Flash would have had would be direct uploading to sites like FA and being able to play through the browser....
While Unity does have a web player, it's not fantastic, so a zip file containing the end product would need to be downloaded.
What I lose in convenience, I gain drastically in functionality... Including the ability to use all mouse buttons, include gamepad support, include VR support (maybe), no memory restrictions, 3D sound, 2D and 3D polygonal graphics with full shader library, hardware acceleration, full screen HD display... Basically everything you'd expect to see in a modern PC game and NOT in flash....
What am I planning on using all this for? Simple.
Interactive adult games... Patreon funded.

I am having a certifiable NIGHTMARE finding one... I refuse to believe there isn't a good one...
And Adobe can go sit on a razor lined dildo....
I've downloaded the unfortunately discontinued Vectorian Giotto, it's a bit clunky but does what's necessary... Unfortunately it doesn't allow me to add an import protect password to the .SWF files it exports.. Which I'd really prefer...
I have an old copy of Flash 8... But... I'm also on Windows 7, soon to be 10.... so...
What I need, is to be able to import PNG's and animate them, apply very basic button scripting to said animations and simple preloaders, and (preferably) export password protected .SWF files..
Alternatively, as Giotto already kinda works... Is there a way to add a password to a .SWF file after it's already exported if it doesn't have one?

I've resigned from Cats N'Camera's as a result of irreconcilable creative differences..
Unfortunate but necessary..
Frankly given the authors feelings of late I'll be surprised if it continues with another artist... But I wish him the best..
At least I got to do a whole chapter before this..
MOVING FORWARD..
Thanks to working on the comic, I was basically forced to get better fast.... So my production speed is several orders of magnitude above what it was even a month ago.. I will be directing that towards my efforts with new clients.
I am currently open for commissions, and will be working on finishing what I haven't had a chance to thanks to the comic.. My schedule has cleared significantly...
You will see new YCH, probably several a week, popping up within the next day or so... Just need to get myself sorted after this.. change..
There will also be some Patreon related changes and improvements I will announce in a little bit.
I've had a bit of a stumble, but now I'm ready to kick things into high gear like I've never been able to in the past.

I wanna get one, but the prices for all the ones I'm seeing are WAY more than I can afford at the moment...
Price range is at MOST $500 CAD... About $350 USD...
