Opening Sculpture Commissions! (6 slots!)
Posted 13 years agoOkay guys, so since the internship I have this summer isn't a paid one, I'm looking for a way to get some extra monies~ So for the first (and probably last) time ever I'm opening up some sculpture commissions. I don't have a lot of clay at the moment so I will only be opening up *6 SLOTS*
The price range is anywhere between $25 to $65 depending on how complex the character you want me to sculpt is. The price will never be below or above that range~
I will sculpt pretty much anything, but I only sculpt animal or anthro characters, because I am bad at sculpting people XD Now, this can include original characters as well as fan characters like pokemon, digimon, monster rancher, anything like that~
Here are the different types of sculptures I can make as well as the price ranges:
Simple Sculptures- $25

Normal Sculpture-$30-$40

http://iron-zing.deviantart.com/art.....gure-215853079
Complex Sculpture- $45-$65

http://iron-zing.deviantart.com/art.....ture-215803846
http://iron-zing.deviantart.com/art.....ture-303165333
When you purchase a sculpture from me, I need to receive the payment *before* I begin sculpting it. However you can reserve a spot in the slots even if you don't have money right this second~ My paypal is at kbolte[at]mcad.edu
Also, please send me a good reference of the character I am to sculpt for you. Once I see the character design I can tell you how much the price will be for that sculpture~

Wow I haven't updated forever
Posted 15 years agoLol just realized that I haven't written an actual update journal for a long time!
Hmmm well lots of things have been going on with me! I'm a sophomore now at MCAD, really enjoying my classes, especially Character Animation and Ideation and Process...not so much 3D animation |D I fucking hate that class. I like the teacher but not like, anything else about that class.
Besides totally getting all A's in my classes, I've been just enjoying college life in general...just making brownies and drinking koolaid and sleeping until 3pm every day and being a janitor on the 4th floor of the main building. Also been hanging with my friends a lot too, especially with my friend Sam. We're playing through all the Silent Hill games together! So far we've played 2, 3, Origins, and atm we're in the middle of playing #1. That's tons of fun.
I'm also active in a lot of clubs. As you may or may not know, I started a Pokemon Club here at MCAD! We have 66 members right now, fucking rad~ We meet every other Saturday and like, hang out and watch Pokemon movies on the projector and stuff. We have lots of stuff going on, like a Gym Leader system. You have to train a team to lvl 55 and try and beat the 9 MCAD gym leaders. If you collect all the badges (yes we even made badges, I used the button maker tee hee) then you can choose any pkmn merchandise you want off the internet as a reward.
We can afford nice prizes like this cause our club is actually funded by the school. I go to a SAC meeting (student advisory council) every other Wends, and fill out a proposal form to ask for money for prizes or pizza or whatever we need. The proposal is voted on by the council members and then if it passes, I get a check to use for my club. Isn't that awesome?
Pokemon Club actually has it's own Facebook and DA- http://mcadpokemonclub.deviantart.com/
Right now we're doing an Art Tournament; if you win you can have either a brand new DS Lite or any Pokemon game of your choice. We have 22 people in the tourney atm, but round 1 ends tonight, so half of them will be eliminated! Since it's a tourney for MCAD students, the art that is being submitted is fucking awesome. You should check it out sometime!
Hmm what else...can't think of anything OH YEAH! I'm joining Tango Club here at MCAD! I've always wanted to know how to dance, so this is gonna be awesome! My friend Lindsay runs the club, I'm excited to start~
Guess that's all for now! :D Thanks for reading!

Warrior Cats Episode 1 FINISHED
Posted 16 years agoAHHHHHH YOU GUYS!!! The first episode of Warrior Cats, the fan animation I help make, is finally up on youtube! 8DDD GO WATCH! WHOOOOO! I'm so excited!
Part1 -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1XYgtSCHvp4
Part 2-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkMnR2H...awOU&
Part 3-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OgEtrOl91gE&
I did a lot of coloring and some in between frames for part 1, for part 2 I did coloring and sound effects, and for part three I did more coloring and in between. That's mostly what I do for this project, but Asi, the director, is giving me a few scenes to animate on my own in ep 2! I'm the 'croud control' cause I enjoy giving the bg characters unique pelt colors and stuff ;D So Asi's gonna let me do all the scenes with large groups of cats. So be sure to keep an eye out for any parts with large groups of bg characters- I'll be the one who animated them!
AUHGAJSKFASHFG BEST DAY EVER! THIS IS WHAT I LIVE FOR!
Now to go do homework like a good college student :>

Calling all dog/animation fans!
Posted 16 years agoHey guys! While browsing Youtube I've come across a lot of animated dog films that not many people know about. They are mostly short films but there are a few feature length ones as well, and they're from all over the world, from Russia to Japan to the USA. So, if you're a dog fan or just want something new to watch, please check these out sometime! If anyone watches them, please comment and let me know what you think!
THE FILMS:
<b>Junkers come here</b>
This Japanese film is about a little girl and her pet Miniature Schnauzer named Junkers who can talk and has the power to grant three wishes. Besides the talking dog part, the film doesn't have anything magical; no epic journeys or battles. Instead it focuses on the conflics of everyday life for a girl whose parents are getting divorced. The movie has absolutely AMAZING animation- it looks like something Hayao Miazaki would dish out- but the story might be seen as too 'slow' for some because of the 'real life' focus. But don't let that faze you, this is an adorble movie!
Runs about 2 1/2 hours
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Y5N.....eature=related
<b>There Was Once a Dog</b>
A Ukranian animation that tells the tale of an old dog who gets kicked out of his house for being lazy, and he befriends a wolf in the forest who helps him reclaim his life as a pet. The animation in this short film is very 'cartoony' but unique and definitally eye candy. The characters are hilarious- the old dog is my favorite, because he is too lazy to bark at things, so he just lays on the ground and woofs half heartedly at them. Also, look for the part when the baby of the house is stolen by the Wolf. The mother and sister don't run after it, they just throw back their heads and scream and wail, while continuing to rake the grass. XD It's great.
Runs about 10 mins

<b>The Dog Door</b>
A Russian short film about a group of dogs who live in an abandoned ravine and whom are in search of 'The Dog Door', a magical portal that will lead them to happiness.
The animation is realistic and appears to be made using colored pencils or pastels. The character designs are absolutly beautiful. I definitaly got attached to the main character, Noble, whose breed I'm not sure of. A must watch!
Runs about 15 mins.

<b>The Disscusion</b>
This is just a little snippet from Seseme Street I guess. A great example of character animation- expression and gestures and the like
Runs 1 min
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z19tl_vTwR0
<b>Wild Dogs</b>
The only dog animation I liked that was 3D! This was someones college project. It's about an African Wild dog who finds a dinosaur skeleton. Problem is, the bones are too big to eat! The character designs are great and the expressions are priceless! Based on the creators website, I think she works for Pixar.
Runs 2 mins
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sn2qepWagbc
<b>Still Life of Animated Dogs</b>
The beginning of this film has what appears to be like...advertisments and then an intro to the film with some guy talking, but DON'T LET THAT FOOL YOU! This ia an amazing short film! Also, although it seems unimportant, watch the intro tho because it tells a TON about the guy and why he made the movie.
The movie itself was animated by this one guy over the span of his entire life. It's a really deep, moving film about the dogs that shared this guys life over the span of like 50 years. A really super good film that uses paint or colored pencils or the like for the animation. The dogs movements are really realistic as well.
Runs about 30 mins
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BU7Hb9DXXuU
And this one is about a guy who wants to ride in a kangaroos pouch...not a dog movie but still a great animation. You'll never see the end coming! It's also 3D and is like 2 mins or so-

Well, hope at least some of you are animation/dog freaks like me and watch these!
Enjoy!

2 Sense Interview and Warrior Cats Animation
Posted 17 years agoQuick overview for lazy people:
1) I was interviewed on the popular radio show 2 Sense with 2 the Ranting Gryphon! Whooo!
2)Asi (Yu-Ji), Rosi and I are all making an an8imated version of the book Warrior Cats! Whooo!
Now, for the actual journal:
Yeah, I already typed out this whole thing once before but my computrer was a dick and closed the window. So yeah. >:/
Anyways...HOLY CRAP. I was interviewed on 2 SENSE! That's crazy! For those of you who don't know, 2 Sense is a popular radio show that is listened to around the world! And every week, 2 will call someone up and interview them on the show, just to kinda get the unpopluar people known out there. :D
So, I got an e-mail on Monday from 2, that he picked ME to be interviewed! ;D I was like WHOOOOOO HOLY CRAP you guys! Cause I'd always wanted to be interviewed but I never thought he would pick me XD But he diiiiid.
Whehn he called later that night to do the interview, I was kinda nervous at first, but after I started talking about him, I compleatly relaxed. He's areally cool guy, and he's easy to talk to :)
I talked about the Warrior cats animating that Asi, Rosi and I are making a bit on there too.
If you wanna hear the show, it's up now, here is the link:
http://www.ranting-gryphon-media.com/2Sense
It's show 135. The show is very long, but you don't have to listen to the whole thing. Just download it and skip to 46:18. That's when the interview starts. I start talking about our animation around 50:21. And after the interview, the host 2 Gryphon and his co-host, Jibba, talk a little bit about our animation and wish us good luck. They also both want to do voices for the characters :D
More on the animation...like I said before, it's based on a book by Erin Hunter. I've never read it, though. But yeah, so far, Asi's the only one animating, but pretty soon, Rosi and I will both get to animate scenes ourselves X3 So Im excited about that. Right now I'm just doing the coloring and shading for the animation. If you wanna see some teasers for the animation, go here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mMWz9evo-s

Going once...going twice...
Posted 18 years agoSOLD!
So this weekened I went to Prarie Beach 2007, a greyhound gathering for people who have adopted retired racers or who love greyhounds.
And the people wanted me to do some greyhound piccys for the silent acution and raffle. So I did four piccys:
A headshot in charcol
Two greyhounds running in charcol
An egyptian greyhound in colored pencil
An angle greyhound in pencil
The headshot and the egypt greyhound were put into the auction, and the headshot one went for $65! 8D It was pwnsome. And then I earned $40 by doing some small scethes of peoples dogs. The scethes were free but some people donated.
So yeah, I had a great time there. It was fun cause there were doggies everywhere
And then today I worked on putting paper mache over the chicken wire that I used for the form of my dragon float...so yeah...I've been busy and tired, but it's been fun .

Back from College!
Posted 18 years agoOkay...lets see...I'll tell about college now...
Most of my time was spent animating in the animation room XD Most days were like this:
I'd wake up at like...7:30 or so, and then me and my rommate Dani would go down to the cafeteria and eat some breakfast with my friend Meghan at the table beside the dead mosqitoe and the tiny grasshopper. XDDD And ever morning I'd have a bagle, and it got to the point where the chef would see me coming and just had me one XDD
Then we'd go to drawing class. That was kinda boring for the first week cause we had to stand for an hour and a half and draw boxes and cloth and other assorted still life. It was very tireing, but I learned a lot about proportions and angles and such, so that was cool The teachers in that class were fun too. The second week of drawing class was awesome though, cause we had a modle come in qan pose for us so we could learn anatomy and stuff. And yes, she was nekkid, you pervs. It was funny though cause one time she was posing and then she looked at me and was all, "I REMEMBER YOU!" And I was like, "Uhm...okay?" Cause apperantly I had met her before, but I didn't remember.
Well, after drawing class we'd go to Text and Image...and ya know how if you draw in class at school they yell at you? Well, they'd yell at you in Text and Image if you DIDN'T draw while they were talking! XDDD It was SO cool! And the teacher was AWESOME. She was really funny, and we talked about deep stuff like the meaning of life and the sexual aspect of gloves XD
And then we'd go have lunch, and Dani would wave at the colony of Japanese people who were always standing in the parking lot, but they never waved back. D:
And after that we went to animation class!WHOOOO. And we'd stay there until like...2:00 or so animating The animation teachers were soooo funny! They were so cool! They let us watch movies on the big projector, and Dani and Meghan and I watched Chrono Crusade on the huge screen! WHOOO.
But yes, my animation was a collab with this encreadably retarded, annoying, uber-christian dude named Autsin, so yeh. But we animated the Lucky Star Dance- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdERUrLvIW4
with pokemon XD I'll haveta upload it once the college people send it to me on a DVD.
WRITING FROM COLLEGE OMG!111!1ONE!
Posted 18 years agoOMFG Dudes! I'm writing this in animation class! No, not cause I snuck on...cause it's free time ;D Eeeeee dude., this place is SO awesome! Whooo! Yeah, I got here yesterday and got all settled into the dorm and stuff, and then today the classes started. First class was Drawing, and I played around with some Charcols. Then we had Text and Image, which I thought would be boring, but it was actually really cool! We talked about all kinds of mind boggling stuff like why are we really here and do we really exist (Spencer,. you would have had a great time XD). But yesh, now I'm in animation class and today we did a bounching ball animation for practice. We did it on notecards though, so I couldn't see the previous frame cause it was so thick. So I had to hold them over my head to let the light through, and I looked like such a geek XD
OH OH! And them we watched my Zing's Amazing Exploding Babies animation on a projecter! OMG it was cool. but when it was all big I could see all the mistakes ^^: Oh well. Well, I gotz ta go now...be back later...maybe...probably not

Y gaymarrigde is RONG!
Posted 18 years ago1) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.
2) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.
3) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.
4) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.
5) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Britany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.
6) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.
7) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.
8) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.
9) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.
10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.
