Back Home. Good Times.
Posted 15 years agoWhee! So, I got back from Chicago on Saturday night around midnight. In short, I had a pretty decent time.
What made this trip so much more enjoyable than ones in the past was that we acted more like tourists than family. I mean, we didn't spend as much time sitting around and visiting family as we spent doing things in the city and the surrounding areas. Like, we visited Navy Pier for the first time since I was like...seven years old or something! I had a great time bumming around the city like a tourist, taking some architectural tour or something. We even did the Sears Tower again for the first time in a long while. Haha....and I totally did the glass balcony on the 103rd floor. That was too awesome! Look for pictures below.
Ahhh...such a beautiful city! ^^
Though, I dare say I still would've had more fun enjoying my week back home with friends. But oh well. I got more family memories now. ^^
It's been quite a long summer, really. I mean, since I got off from school, I went to RCFM. Then Joey (Chill) visited me for two weeks in June. Then I went and visited Bryan (Beau Badger) in Tennessee for a week about a month back. Heh, simply put: I've done my traveling. And with one week remaining, it seems like things can't be getting better!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, let me tell you about the awesomeness that was yesterday! ^^
Yesterday was the first move-in day for the new apartment I'll be having near my university's campus. Needless to say, it's been really exciting!
OH!!!! AND AND...
Yesterday was more awesome for more than just that!
While I was up in Chicago, my grandmother gave me $300. So, where did all that go, you ask? Well, up until now, I played bass on an acoustic bass. SO...it went straight towards my first electric bass! I got myself a Hofner violin-style bass! IT'S SO AWESOME! *hearts float around him* <333
Oh...and while I was away in Chicago, my friend bought me this GIGANTIC fox plush thing. He surprised me with it when he visited last night. So, that'll totally be a pillow in my new apartment! XD
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, lemme wrap this up with some pictures, huh? ^^

Late Night Craziness
Posted 15 years agoSo, I’m sitting here with
redinoutmir after what has been quite an eventful night, to say the least. What happened, you ask? Well, allow me to explain…
Having been with my the majority of the day, me and Redin had plans to go swimming later on at night, and when midnight came around, we did just that. We went to a quiet little neighborhood where I always do most of my night swimming, because no one is ever there after ten or so. However, when we got there, we noticed some high-school kids quite obviously smoking up (I mean, you could pretty much smell it). We didn’t pay attention to them, and they didn’t pay attention to us, so we went swimming anyways. About an hour or so later, they picked up and left…two girls and two guys. The girls left, while the guys were idly smoking (just plain cigarettes this time) along the sidewalk. Me and Redin sat there kinda watching them for a while, heard some strange noises as well…like breaking glass. Then things got interesting…
Soon, we see the two guys making a run for it, running like hell. Me and Redin turn our heads and see a cop car rounding the corner into the neighborhood. He must’ve got a call or something, cause he broke out the spotlight and started scanning the pool and the surrounding areas from the road. At this time, I was shaking like crazy, I was totally nervous…and me and Redin were literally ducking our heads down and hugging the walls of the pool. We didn’t really know what to do. I mean...we weren't doing anything wrong by being there: there were no pool hours, and we weren't in violation of anything. Either way, we kinda held out in a dark corner of the pool, and the shrubs between the pool fence and the road concealed us. The cop made a few more passes with the spotlight until he pulled into the pool parking lot. Me and Redin think he was probably checking the plates on his Firebird, but yeah. He stayed there for close to ten minutes or so before finally leaving. After letting things cool down for a while, we decided to take off and head back to my place, which is where we are now. *sigh of relief*
One hell of a night, that’s for sure. Dodging local authorities…how fun!
No one said it was easy to catch this fox! >=3
...still though...I was scared as hell! Not that we were the ones doing something wrong, but yeah. XD

Attention Everyone!

Posted 15 years agoRCFM 2010. What else can I say other than it being awesomely amazing?
Well, our car ride there was made up of none other than me
kye-the-dragon and
glowsheep. We left on Thursday afternoon, and after battling some Atlanta traffic, a white Nissan Quest, a bitch in a Mercedes Benz, and a slow-moving logging truck, we made it to Huntsville. We didn’t do much else that night other than check in and catch up with some friends.
As for the convention, I spent most of my time with Kye and
badbadbadgerboy. Me and Beau kinda celebrated a one year anniversary of meeting each other and having a wonderful friendship, so it was kinda emotional on that matter. Friday was spent kinda roaming around and catching up with old friends and meeting new ones and whatnot. Friday was kinda a warm-up day, really…not much I can really say about it. In fact, I can’t really even tell you all the order of all the things I did. The convention really just felt like one continuous party looking back on it. XD
Saturday was spent doing the normal convention shenanigans, spending time with Beau, Kye, LW, Pip, Riff and friends. My camcorder got some use to record the talent show and Crimson Mist’s (members: Beau, LW, and guests) concert. Jinx Tiger and Kawazu the Drumming Raccoon were their guest lead guitarist and drummer. After a year of knowing Beau and LW and jamming with them and going to their practices and concerts, I can say that they sounded fantastic on Saturday night. At times, especially when playing Wagon Wheel, I had to keep myself from tearing up. I’m glad I was able to record the concert for you guys.
And of course, who couldn’t forget Sunday?
It all started when
roryhusky woke me and Beau up with a wakeup call to go to Cracker Barrel for Lunch. Afterwards, me, Kye, Electropaw, Beau, Rory, Rob, and Aurafox all went up to the hotel room and laughed the afternoon away, watching and making fun of things we will certainly be going to hell for because of! XD But oh my gosh, it was a blast! Certainly an afternoon I’ll never forget! But yeah, basically, I spent the rest of the night with Beau, Kye, Aura, and a few others. It was a great night and an awesome way to end the convention.
Overall, RCFM 2010 was definitely better than last year’s RCFM…just when I was thinking it couldn’t get any better. I had a great time. Simply put, there was just too much stuff that went down in my RCFM journey to put in this journal.
Even if you’re not mentioned in this journal, thanks to everyone who helped make it happen, and I hope to see you all again very soon! ^^

Happy Birthday to Me!
Posted 15 years agoYup...it's the 25th of April again, and now I'm officially 19. Whooo!
I've been spending all weekend with my friends...even skipped classes on Friday to come home on Thursday night. We've been running all around here and have been pretty busy, so sorry for those who've been wanting to catch me online more. ^^;;
But yup! That's all. Don't really have much planned, but if anything crazy happens, I'll be sure to leave a journal or something. XD
Catch you guys later!

A Little About Myself
Posted 15 years agoY’know…I’ve been sitting around lately, looking at how much my life has changed over the past year or so. I’ve met so many people, experienced so many things, and have gotten comfortable getting closer to people than I have ever before. Through all of this I’ve realized just how much I close myself from people, how much I try to hide…parts of myself that make me a human just like everyone else. You know, just things that everyone experiences.
A big thing that falls into this category is my sexuality. As you guys know, it was only recently that I made a journal that said anything about my relationship with Joey (Chill). We’ve been together for well over two years now, have been visiting each other, etc…but I never said anything. Why? Because I just didn’t feel like disclosing anything about my sexuality on my page. It’s not that I’m scared (heck, I’d have no reason to around half the people here), it’s just that I didn’t see it a necessary. Either way, it still makes me human, y’know? Sexuality is something completely human.
My general philosophy on life is that I’ll be happy with whoever I decide will make me happy. Whether it’s a man or a woman, it makes no difference to me. I don’t generally find people attractive, mainly just their personalities. Physical attraction comes later on for me. Yes, I’d love to possibly get married and raise kids too…but it just all depends on what life throws at me.
I guess I’m just becoming more comfortable with people knowing that. In fact, I just recently explained everything about me to my sister: my views on life, my current relationship, etc. She was very supportive, and we talked about it for quite a long while by ourselves. It was opening, and something I’m very glad I decided to do.
I guess I’m just sort of…clinging to some childhood innocence I have comfort in, refusing to grow up a little bit in a way. I’m afraid of looking bad, but at the same time, I realize that I’m just like everyone else. I just find it silly how much I’ve grown when it comes to this matter. I mean, just a few years ago I was putting down sexual RPs online, then I didn’t. I was once opposed to drawing porn, then I came to draw it myself, though privately. There are even unposted commissions myself and others have made. Half the people out there do these things, and I’m probably one of the few who fears what others may think of it. I realize that this is silly, but I still do it anyways. It’s just…I’m not all that sexual, and I’d hate for people to see me that way. Sure, I have my moments like everyone else, but their very rare. So here's the big conclusion: yes, I look a porn, I draw it occasionally, I masturbate, I spend intimate moments with my boyfriend, I act perverted around everyone...and I freakin' love all of it! I'm just not as open about it as others, but I don't think that being 100% innocent is realistic.
Anyways, that’s what ‘s been on my mind here recently.
In other related news, it’s April 14th, people. Remember the R.M.S. Titanic tonight! 98 years!

FWA 2010
Posted 15 years agoWell, FWA 2010 is over and done with…one convention I’ll certainly remember for all the lazy fun and craziness that went on. So, where to begin?
Friday was when my FWA adventure began. In fact, I even went to my classes that morning (which ended at 11). From there, my dad brought me back home, and me and Kye took off for Atlanta right after. Once there, I picked up my badge and delivered the badges I owed Beau (badbadbadgerboy), Redin, and Lovey Puppy…who were all very happy to receive them. From there, I commissioned a few people, looked around some, and hung out with some friends of mine. Being able to spend time with Rory Husky, Rob, and Aurafox for the first time since MFM was definitely enjoyable! With the conventions so close together at the end of last year, I saw them quite a bit. But there’s a huge gap between MFM and FWA, so it was surprising how a few months of separation can create so much missing. But yeah…Friday was a bunch of fun, and my old high school buddy Glowsheep introduced me to my perfect “long lost brother”. I swear! He’s so much like me, it’s scary sometimes…right down to the squinty-eyed smile. He was a non-furry named Casey (or Snippet the crab), and all convention long, he was a blast to hang out with.
Saturday was just as good. I even got to sleep in the bed the night before! Whoo. Lauren (dreamesque) and Jackson spent a bunch of time in artist alley, while me, Kye, and Beau did a lot of hanging out. It was pretty cool bumping into LW, because it kinda turned into a whole unofficial Crimson Mist jamming session. Beau and LW are guitarists in the band Crimson Mist, who does musical performances at RCFM. Well, this FWA marked the one-year anniversary that I saw them perform in the Furries Got Talent show and fell in love with their performance of Old Crow Medicine Show’s “Wagon Wheel”. Since then, I’ve been regarded as their biggest fan…which has earned me the privilege of carrying all the equipment many times (*sigh*). Haha! But we spent a good part of Saturday night with LW, as well as Rory. Also, the donkey fellow Jackpot was a pleasure to get to know on Saturday. I had seen him many times at meets before, but never really got the chance to talk one-on-one. He’s a really cool guy! To wrap up the night, me and Beau danced a little bit and headed up around 4AM to retire.
Sunday…hard to believe it was just the other day…basically another day of enjoying people’s company. Once again, Ms. Lauren and Mr. Jackson were in the artist alley, selling commissions, while me, Kye, and Beau had fun! I paid for a few commissions on Sunday and whatnot…even got this really neat/creepy (in a good way) looking badge that I’ll have to share. Aside from checking out and running around to put the baggage in the car, we ducked into the talent show for a little bit…which was a whole lot more organized this year! Other than that, a good part of my day was spent chatting with Fuchsia and her boyfriend Ularewolf. They’re really cool people, and it turns out they were rooming with other friends of mine…which made their room even more awesome! Haha. But yeah, soon after, we felt the convention begin to die down as people left. Eventually, we left too…around 9PM…and began the short trip back home. When we got back, we went out to Taco Mac for a nice conclusion to our FWA experience. Not wanting to be alone so soon, I dragged Beau back home with me. He spent the night before leaving in the morning, and then the harsh reality set in.
I’m back at school now…blegh! But this week’s not all that bad. Easy on the workload, so I’m not complaining.
So, I’d like to give my shoutouts now. Thanks a bunch to:
kye-the-dragon
badbadbadgerboy
dreamesque and
jaxzon for being my awesome roommates and con-going group!
Additionally, I’d like to thank
roryhusky
roblf
aurafox
loveypuppy
redinoutmir
jackpot
fuchsia
glowsheep Casey and many more for making FWA 2010 as special as it was.
I had a blast everyone! And I hope we can see each other very soon. Until next time! ^^

FWA Meme
Posted 15 years agoWhere are you staying?
The Hilton
Where will you be?
During the day: Probably wandering around with friends...camera and camcorder in hand, most likely
At night: Wandering around...doing stuff...or something
Who will you be with?
I'll be rooming with my bestest friends
badbadbadgerboy
kye-the-dragon
dreamesque and
jaxzon
Do you do trades?
Uh...I hardly ever have the motivation to do trades...unless I ask... ^^;;
What suits will you have?
None! ...and since Pyro's gone and left on his mission, I don't have any roommates to film in suits. I'll have to find others! XD
What is your gender?
Male
How old are you?
18
Can I talk to you?
Of course you can! I'm not going to kill you or anything.
Can I buy you a drink?
Haha...I doubt I'll be doing any "drinking". I'll probably be getting on others for drinking more than anything. I am the Hammer of Sobriety...apparently XD
What's your poison?
Um...um....um...I'm a sucker for...Coca-Cola? XD
Can I commission you?
I don't plan on doing work at the convention, so...anything you might want will be done at a later time. ^^
What events will you be attending?
Well, I've not really looked. The past two conventions I went to I spent time with friends and didn't really go to any events. BUT...FWA had some great stuff last year. I'll have to look n' see.
Have you visited the website?[ furryweekend.com ]
Of course! ...the pictures at the top of the page even have a few friends in them:
badbadbadgerboy and the band he's in (Crimson Mist) and Pyro! Whoo!
If you were in the Rock Band tournament, what would your band name be?
Uh...never really cared much for Rockband...but I'm not bad at it. Just never got hooked...so...don't ask me! XD
What would you play?
Well, I'm not the best at Guitar or Drums, but I'm pretty good experting on singing and bass
Can I hug you?
I'm not much of a huggy person, but I guess you could. Just as long as you aren't creepy about it.
How tall are you?
5'9"
Are you nice? Or do you think so (no personal references needed)?
Well, of course! Don't I just sound pleasant through all of this text? Hmmm? HMMM?! Haha...seriously, though. I am ^^
Are you friendly?
Nice and friendly typically go hand in hand, so...yeah. I'm a little shy at first though, but I open up and become my regular silly self quickly (especially around friends)
How long are you going?
Getting there around 1pm on Friday (because I'm still going to my Friday classes...cause I'm a good student!) and "planning" on going back on Monday (cause I decided to skip Monday O=)
Do you have an artist table?
Naah! I go to conventions to have fun...not work my butt off with art!
Do you like parties?
I guess it kinda depends on the party. I got invited to happy naked land at RCFM09, but you didn't find me there! I usually stick with my group. XD
If I see you, how should I get your attention?
Uh...come up and say hello or shout something to me? Does that sound fair? XD
For whoever is going...
I'll see you there! ^^
The Hilton
Where will you be?
During the day: Probably wandering around with friends...camera and camcorder in hand, most likely
At night: Wandering around...doing stuff...or something
Who will you be with?
I'll be rooming with my bestest friends

Do you do trades?
Uh...I hardly ever have the motivation to do trades...unless I ask... ^^;;

A Special Visit from California
Posted 15 years agoWell, I have no idea where to start, really.
…but over the past six days, someone really important to me visited me here in Georgia. Kinda stinks that he doesn’t have a FurAffinity account, because he really needs one in my opinion (at least one that he uses for social purposes). I’d just pop a link up if he had one. But anyways, his name is Chill Coyotl (AKA: the coyote in the picture I commissioned in my favorites). He’s been my boyfriend for over two years now, and this was the very first time we were able to see one another in person.
It all kinda came out of nowhere, really. My parents had allowed a friend of mine from New York visit for five days earlier this past summer. I thought that if they were okay with my friends visiting and staying at our house, they might be okay with Chill staying as well. Turns out, I was right! …and he was scheduled to visit at the end of December.
I was really nervous and anxious when the time came around a week ago, but things quickly changed. Hehe…it didn’t take long for my California silly to adjust from the 70 degree weather back home to the 30 degree weather here in Georgia. Contrary to what you guys may think, we didn’t really do any of the tourist sites around here. Instead, we did the exact opposite…we just hung out with my friends and showed him much of the insider life in my area. Needless to say, he had a great time and really hit of well with a lot of my friends, especially my friend Beau
badbadbadgerboy. Among these “insider” activities were a HUGE New Year’s party at a friend’s house and a furmeet at a bowling alley.
Unfortunately, the chilly weather around here got to him, and he caught a fever in the last two days here. But that only gave me the power to break out my fox-nurse powers and be right there for him with a spoonful of sugar and medicine! Haha, though Beau probably did a better job of nursing than I did.
When he left earlier today, it started a new chapter in our relationship. I mean, we weren’t just limited to what webcams, phone calls, and IMs can give us anymore. We bridged the geographical gap between us and learned so much more about one another and ourselves. It was an amazing experience that we’re both looking forward to experiencing again in a few months time. I’m tearing up as I’m writing this; I miss him so much right now. But, I got Beau here with me right now, giving me a shoulder to cry on. You can bet I’ll pounce on that phone right away when Chill calls, though.
Take care everyone.

Late Journal of MFM
Posted 16 years agoYeah yeah...it was like what...almost two weeks ago now? Well, better late than never to tell my story, huh? XD
Well, I took my psychology test on Friday morning before heading off to the convention. For my first test in college, getting an 82 when the class average was 73.1, I think that's awesome! Haha! So, right after that, I was picked up and driven back home where I was picked up by
pyrochan. We all got to Memphis at about 8ish, and wasted no time in hooking up with our buds
roryhusky and
roblf.
kye-the-dragon had taken another ride the day before and also hooked up with us then. We spent the rest of the night doing silly things and called it a night. What was awesome was the Pyro was sleeping in Rob and Rory's room...so that left me and Kye by ourselves in our room with one hell of a giant, king sized, bed! It had...like...a bazillion pillows too. It was awesome!!! XD
Now, I heard that this convention was more or less of a massive party of sorts, and I'll have to agree with it now, having been through it all. The convention activities weren't really all too exciting...but having a group to be in made the convention that much more enjoyable. Along with Rob, Rory, Pyro, and Kye, also going around with us was
wyngaed
joeysparkz and
carson10us. We just spent the whole lot of Saturday goofing off and whatnot.
Sunday was definitely a weird day. Haha, apart from Rob going crazy and entertaining us to high levels with silly jokes and fake Jewish accents, not all too much really went on. The trip to Cracker Barrel in the morning was a nice way to kick it off, with a nice big breakfast and all that good stuff. Rory even bought me some Orange n' Cream soda as a joke back to my April Fools picture. It was okay...a little too much for me about half way though, but...yeah. Um...anyways. We went to the fursuit games, well...watched them really. And just enjoyed another day with the company of our little group. Needless to say, it was a little sad to see the convention ending so soon.
So, back in the car on Monday, driving back all the eight hours it took to get there.
It was a pretty good weekend, though, out of all my convention experiences this year, MFM wasn't all too far up there. Nothing can come close to my experiences at RCFM and Megaplex this year.
That ends my year for conventions, pretty much.
Take care everyone! ^^

UGA Living!
Posted 16 years agoSo, the fall semester has started! Whooo!!! ^^
Y'know....at first I was really dreading college. I didn't know what to expect, I didn't know any of the people around me (except for the very few from my high school)...I was basically starting all over again. What really worried me the most was the size of UGA's campus. It's HUGE!!! I was wondering if I'd ever figure out how to use the bus system effectively...or if I'd even find the right bus to get on period! Haha, I was really down in the dumps the first night in the dorm.
But hey! Things got moving pretty quickly when classes started up on Monday. Luckily, I arranged my schedule so that I am taking no more than two classes a day. My earliest class (which is on Monday and Wednesday) begins at 9:05am, and my latest class (which is on Wednesday) ends at 12:15. So, I'm done really quickly...which is totally awesome. Even better, all my classes are back-to-back, so I get them all done and get the rest of the day to myself.
My classes are pretty awesome too!
On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, I have Political Systems (Meh) and Psychology (Fun fun!). On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I have Anthropology (BEST CLASS EVER) and English (The professor is entertaining). I also have a Freshman Seminar class on Wednesday as well...about forestry or something. But hey, that's cool! The guy who teaches it is funny, and I only have it once a week for an hour, so... XD
So, with the first week done, I have to say that it's been rather enjoyable so far. Turns out, like always, I was worrying for nothing. So, here I am...a freshman at the University of Georgia. ...and enjoying it!
Take care everyone! ^^

Megaplex Review
Posted 16 years agoOoooh, where to even begin? Sorry, I was horribly lazy when it came to writing this journal...and out of nowhere, at six in the morning, I feel like finally telling my story. So, here goes my wonderful story of Megaplex 8.
It was a blast...to say it short and simple. With my good friend
PyroChan, we took off from his place on Thursday morning. The eight hour car ride was piloted by none other than
roryhusky. And I must say, I'm surprised I was entertained so much on the trip. I didn't sleep a wink the night before, and I only slept for one hour during the entire ride down to Florida! Wow! Anyways, when we got there, Rory dropped us off at
Arbok_X's house. It was really really nice of him to offer us a place to stay on Thursday night. I need to pay him back somehow. ^^
On Friday morning, he drove me and Pyro to the convention. We registered, watched opening ceremonies...all that jazz. Then we hooked up with the three people that would become our group: Rory along with
kooky and
roblf. Pyro would be staying in their room, so it was basically our home base throughout the con. To my surprise, one of the coolest people I met at the convention was an older guy, in his 50's. We must have talked for over an hour, and may I say, that was the most fun I've had talking to someone in a long time. The rest of Friday was pretty relaxing, and we all finished it up with the dance that night. Later on, I would hook up with the people I would be rooming with on Friday and Saturday:
durangodingo,
towyncoyote,
DominoDingo,
riffhyena, and Roger. I always hated sleeping on the floor in sleeping bags...but oh well. With so many people in one room, it was really cheap! XD
On Saturday morning, my group all missed the fursuit parade. Why it was at ten in the morning, I'll never know. Stupid scheduling...seriously!!! We all woke up and did our own things, though. Our group consisted of the usual me, Pyro, Kooky, Rory, and Rob...but Towyn and Riff decided to join us as well. Towyn wasn't feeling all too great after missing the parade, so I dragged him along with us. Riff and I enjoyed recording and taking pictures of them all as they suited in the lobby and danced in that night's dance. In the headless lounge, Towyn introduced me to a lot of new people, such as
zelldragon and
concord. He also kinda promoted me a little, haha. Overall, Saturday was pretty relaxing, and there was no better way than to end it all at the pool, having a talk with my old friend again. Before we turned in for the night, I was really happy to hear that Towyn had a great time.
Sunday was the day I was supposed to be returning with Towyn, Durango, Riff and all of them. I would have gone had Rob, Kooky, and Rory hadn't decided to let me room with all of them that night. So, I'd be with Pyro and all of them. We all kinda did our own thing that day, and me and Pyro were together for the most part. Out of nowhere I met
silverwolfoneofmany. I knew he was going to be there, but he just popped up! Haha. Anyways, we ended up finding ourselves playing Apples to Apples in the game room with a bunch of other people. Though Pyro and him would leave to do other things, I stayed and continued to play. I swear! Our group was making more noise than the closing ceremonies and the improv show. We played straight though the dance, until con staff kicked us out. The con was over. Though Rob, Rory, and Pyro were all asleep by that time, Kooky was still out and about, and I eventually found him. I tagged along with him and went to a room party of sorts. There I met
jdpuppy,
nbowa, and
tzup. It was a lot of fun, and Kooky and I eventually turned in around five in the morning.
Monday morning we all said our goodbyes. It was a pretty sad moment, but we're all looking forward to seeing one another again when MFM comes around. Rory and Rob will both be going, so we're all excited. So, Rory drove us back to Pyro's house...another eight hour drive of silliness. Then the three of us said our goodbyes. Never, at the start of the con, would I have expected to have made such good friends with Rory, Rob, and Kooky. The three of them are such fun people to be around, and I can't wait for MFM to come around.
Anyways, I've posted all my videos on youtube. So, enjoy!

Going to Megaplex
Posted 16 years agoMy third convention of the year! Whoo!
Well, when I was going to RCFM, I didn't post a journal saying I was going to do so. Haha...I'm lazy, okay? When school's not in, it's hard to bring myself to do anything...no matter how silly. Anyways, yeah...as the journal says, I'm going to be attending Megaplex this coming weekend. So, here goes my lovely story of the expected!
So, for the lovely eight hour car ride from Atlanta, Georgia, to Kissimmee, Florida, I will be traveling with
roryhusky and
PyroChan. Rory was kind enough to offer to drive us there...which, of course, is very nice. Haha! Eight hours in the car sure beats the fifteen hours I'm in the car to go to Chicago to visit relatives once a year! XD
Me and Pyro will be riding up with Rory, but will be staying at
Arbok_X's house on Thursday night. I'd like to thank him a lot for offering us a place to stay...cause it would be horrible to find a cheap hotel in the middle of summer in the Orlando area! XD
As for the rest of the trip, I'll be staying at the con's hotel with
durangodingo
towyncoyote
DominoDingo and
riffhyena. On Sunday, I also plan to be riding back home with them. Pryo, on the other hand, will be coming back with Rory a day later...cause I don't want to be there that long, okay? D=<
Anyways, that's the plan! I'll see you guys when I get back!
Bye! ^^

UGA Orientation!
Posted 16 years agoSooo...I'd like to thank my friends
durangodingo and
TowynCoyote for offering me a chance to go to AC with them. While I did have the funding to go, I couldn't go due to my college orientation being on the Monday and Tuesday following. Which is what this journal is about! Yay!
As you all 'should' know, I'm going to be attending the University of Georgia in the fall for my very first year of college. Whooo! Haha....so let's wind the clock back to yesterday morning. I didn't get much sleep, and with a lot of anxiety and nervousness, I didn't really think it would be all that much fun. As soon as our orientation leaders came out, though, I knew things would be cool. They have to be one of the silliest groups of students I've seen. Haha...but anyways...after a few boring meetings about the basics and whatnot, we took some exciting placement tests for english and mathematics. While the english one was a little challenging at times, the math one seemed more like an insult to me. It was Algebra II all over again! XD
We learned some cheers and whatnot (duh...UGA!!!), and had really awesome meals! First time I've ever seen a chocolate fountain. That was fun! ANYWAYS...after all the planned events were over for the night, a good few of us decided to go out and stroll around Athens. I'm gonna have to get rather familiar with the area if I don't plan to get bored in college, haha! I have to say that the most valuable experience was spending the night in one of the dorm halls. Ahh...nothing like shower stalls in a giant bathroom of sorts and wearing flipflops as you washed yourself. Silly silly. The kid I stayed with was a really nice guy. Heck, we knew we had to wake up really early, but despite that, we stayed up talking about this and that. I feel I'll have at least one more friend when school starts in the fall.
Taking us to this morning and skipping though another boring meeting and whatnot. I got to go visit the college where my major is going to be. Right now, I'm at UGA's College of Education. Haha...don't ask! My major right now is Social Studies Education...which I wouldn't mind at all, really. I LOVE HISTORY!!! <33 It could change, of course....but anyways! Turns out that all of my AP classes have provided me with at least 11 hours of credit...excluding the scores I got in AP Portfolio (because they're not in yet). That basically eliminated and exempted me from a lot of typical core classes. Cool enough, I don't have to take a math class. Haha! Right now, my schedule is subject to change depending on what I'm feeling like...so I'm not really going to share that. But ahhh....it's going to be great having the same two classes on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and the other two classes on Tuesdays and Fridays. Hehe! ^^
Anyways, I was expecting orientation to be a total drag...but it was the opposite! I really am looking forward to UGA and all the experiences it will offer me. And on the furry side of things...I know there are furries in the Athens area, so that'll be cool to meet even more locals!
So...I'm like a Georgia Bulldog Fox Thingy...or something. Yay! =3
Anyways, I'm out. I'll talk to you all soon! ^^

RCFM 2009
Posted 16 years agoI know I was kinda quiet about it, and I probably should have said something about it here before I headed off for the weekend...but I did attend RCFM this past weekend. Of course, going with my two best buddies
kye-the-dragon and
pyrochan
And might I say, I had a great time!!! Possibly even more so than I did at FWA. So, my second convention ever! To my surprise, I didn't spend nearly as much money as I thought. I had some $300 that I took with and barely spent $60 of it (excluding my share of the hotel fees). So...whoo hoo for going easy on the wallet! Haha! With that money, I commissioned two badges for myself and one for a good friend of mine. After getting permission n' stuff, I'll get to sharing them with you all.
On an awesome side, I also met a bunch of local furries...a few of which are interested in getting badges made be me. How cool is that? They saw the badge I made and...ahh...I feel special! ^^ So, I guess that means I've officially started taking commissions. That also means I must begin negotiating reasonable prices for my things. O=
Anyways, I must give a big shoutout to
durangodingo,
TowynCoyote, Tease Dingo, and Roger (don't know if they have FAs) for making this weekend so much fun! I can't thank you guys enough for making it that much more memorable...and letting us crash with you guys on Sunday night. I'm really glad I could hang out so much on Saturday and Sunday. ^^
I got a ton of video and pictures to post, so keep your eyes open!
Oh, and one last thing. I graduated on Thursday!!! So, I'm now officially FREE!!! ...until I go to UGA for college in a few months. Ugh! Oh well! This summer's going to be a blast, and there was no better way to start it than going to RCFM.
Take care everyone! You'll hear from me again soon! ^^

Happy Birthday to...
Posted 16 years agoME!!!! =3
So...like...today...April 25th...I like...turned 18...n' stuff. Yeeeeah....
Haha, anyways, yuppers! Today was my 18th birthday. Pretty insane how time flies by so quickly, and pretty soon I'll be off to the University of Georgia too. Wow.
Today was pretty cool, I guess...apart from not having much sleep. We got up early to get a few gifts for me *coughmoremodelcarscough* Gifts of which my parents bought me too much of. Arg!!! I wish they wouldn't go crazy! Then I went home and spent the rest of the day with my best friends...who are still over as I write this. *looks left and right* Party's next weekend! WHOOOO!!!
Anyways, I just thought I'd let you all know, so it doesn't come as a surprise to anyone. A few people get disappointed how I keep quiet about these things. XD
So, sorry it wasn't really much of a journal. ^^;
Take care everyone!

Art Appreciation!!!
Posted 16 years agoSo, what's up everyone? ^^
Heh, looks like I'll be going back to Atlanta again tomorrow. It's...like...depressing n' stuff, considering the last time I was there was during FWA. Deja vu! I swear, I've not been able to get that weekend out of my head! It's been over a week, and I keep having dreams about it! When I pass the Hilton, it'll be so weird! XD
Anyways, we're going on a trip to the High Museum of Art for an after-school field trip for Art Club and National Art Honors Society. I went last year too, and it was a blast! But what is really cool about this trip is that a piece of mine will actually be on display there. I don't remember exactly what the event is, but they show the work of some of the best art students in the state (or something) at this time of the year. I was one of ten students chosen in my school. So, it's one heck of an honor to have my work on display at the High...even if it's probably off in some corner in the back. XD
Speaking about art, I'm really proud of how far I've come this year. Not only has my work been on display at the High, but I've also been published in a little literary magazine and have had a piece in the Dogwood Festival in Atlanta. I know I don't post my realistic/traditional stuff (since people tend not to like it as much), but I'm really proud of it. I have to give a big thanks to my three-year art teacher Mr. Lasseter for everything! Without him, none of this would've happened. (You can actually check out Mr. Lasseter's stuff here: http://lasseterartworks.com/)
Oh, and lemme give a nice big 100th birthday wish to R.M.S Titanic. March 31, 1909 was when construction began. Yay for the Titanic!!! Anyways...just had to get that out.
Haha, see you guys around! ^^

Furry Weekend Atlanta
Posted 16 years agoSorry I didn't give a good bit of you any warnings before I left...but as some of you may know, I attended FWA this year. And...
Oooooh goshdarnit that was a ton of fun!!! Especially with my two buds
pyrochan and
kye-the-dragon
The week leading up to it was pure hell due to the bunch of work that would be due on the Monday after the con (today), but it was totally worth it!
Soo many things to do in sooo little time. But don't worry, folks! I had my brand new, spiffy, camcorder and got well over two hours of footage. I will be sure to let you all know when I get that stuff posted on youtube n' stuff. So, for those of you who are interested in the fursuit games, the parade, the talent show...or whatever...I've got it! ^^
As for my $220....it's all gone! Haha...just about the last thing I bought was FWA's t-shirt this year. But apart from that, I ordered a few commissions from a few artists such as
mahrkale (who I had such a fun time 'bothering' in the dealer's den XD), as well as
seanblackthorne, and
clawed who did a commission for me, Pyro, and Kye. After I get permission from these artists, I'll either post them here, or send them a scan to post. I'll try to get those up sometime soon! They're looking really awesome! Oh, and I also got myself a tail...how silly of me! After wearing it for the weekend, it feels really weird not having it on anymore. D=
Haha...but yeah. It's almost depressing that it's over now. You all know that feeling you get when you have to leave something fun to go back to regular life again. That's what it feels like right now. It's sad that it's over, but FWA has provided me with so many happy memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life...and certainly enjoy once again next year.
Overall, it has been...THE BEST WEEKEND I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!!!!!!! (which is an understatement) =3
If you wanna chat with me about it, feel free to message me or ask here! I'll be happy to share my experiences if any of you are interested. ^^

College Approaching
Posted 16 years agoWell, as you all know, I'm 17 and am a senior. Or at least I hope you know....especially if you watch me! XD
Anyways, I had three colleges in mine...two at which I had high hopes of being accepted. One I was looking at North Georgia College. It's not too far from where I live. But what I liked about it most was its sense of tradition, its relatively small classes, and its beautiful campus. I was accepted there relatively quickly and was thinking of going there before other things occurred.
The second college I was looking at was University of Georgia, and, of course, it's a huge college in the country. My sister has been going there the past two years and has a lot of nice things to say about it. I have also been there for tours and stuff over the past few years as well.
As it turns out, I got accepted to UGA as well! I'm almost certain I'm going to go there...no matter how much I like North Georgia. Ugh! It's such a difficult choice. I'm so torn between the two!!!
Anyways, I just wanted to share my excitement with you guys. I just received my acceptance letter to UGA today, and it totally made my day! ^^

New Year's Meme: A Year in Review
Posted 16 years agoJust browsing over stuff, I decided to steal this journal question thingy from
hero who has also stolen it apparently. XD
So, here goes...
_________________________________________________________
1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?
• Tried various methods of printmaking (linocuts, drypoint, screen printing, woodcuts)
• Showed visiting students from Korea what the American lifestyle is all about
• Got together with a group of friends who share an interest in the furry fandom
• Danced classy dances from the roaring 20's
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
• Last year's: NOTHING!!! So, I didn't necessarily fail!
• New year's resolutions:
- Probably do more furry artwork, since people tend to get impatient
- Try to let things slide a little more; not losing my cool in certain situations
3. How will you be spending New Year's Eve?
• At home with my family, as we sip some sparkling grape juice, remembering the times we had in 2008
4. Did anyone close to you die?
• Not close to me. But relatives of my close friends have...
5. What countries did you visit?
• I didn't do much traveling this year, especially outside of the country!
6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
• More inspiration to do some pieces that are in no means similar to one another
7. What date from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
• August something - the day that a friend (that I kinda knew from a math class from the previous school year) asked if I was a furry. Since then, with that common ground, Danny (Pyro) and I have become good friends.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
• Another year avoiding getting a real job! XD
• Becoming one of four people to get an A in AP Art Portfolio
• Helping my buddy out with his fursuit by refoaming it. It turned out pretty decent...
9. What was your biggest failure?
• Making deadlines for artwork I was supposed to do for people. That's one of the reasons I only did a handful of trades this year.
• Making an abundance of cute artwork for people to view
• Not getting even an honorable mention in any of the art contests I entered
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
• Not really. There were a few days with a nasty fever...
11. What was the best thing you bought?
• A whole bunch of art supplies (Paints, brushes, easels, Prismacolor markers)
12. Where did most of your money go?
• Into my hobby of collecting Nascar diecast cars. This year's investments are probably nearing $1000 or so. I wish I didn't use my money like that.
• Into my art hobby with supplies n' stuff
13. What song will always remind you of 2008?
• Grace Kelly by Mika. In January, me and my friend, Ashley, obsessively listened to Mika's "Life in Cartoon Motion" album. It would've driven anyone (but us) insane!
14. What do you wish you'd done more of?
• Spent more time online, catching up with some of my friends. There were times I'd be gone for a week or two, only to be busy when I returned.
• Worked to finish half of the sketches I drew. Most of my drawings this year never had any color, which is an abnormality.
15. What do you wish you'd done less of?
• Staying up late (such as 2am) on most school nights. I can function on five hours of sleep, but four can take a hit on one's academics and patience.
16. What was your favorite TV program?
• Meh, basically whatever the History or Discovery channels can dish out. I like all that interesting nerdy stuff, especially history. XD
17. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
• It takes something very big to make me hate some one. I always said that "hate" was a powerful word. Now, I have lost respect for people, but no one in particular can be targeted here.
18. What was the best book you read?
• Wow...I hardly ever read anything! I'll tell you what book sucked though...The Scarlet Letter!
Curse you Nathaniel Hawthorne!!!
On the contrary, the best book I read this year was The Great Gatsby
19. What was your greatest musical discovery?
• I always liked Big Band/Jazz, and this was the year that I went out and bought a ton of CDs relating to that genre. Since then, it has become my favorite style of music.
20. What was your favorite film of this year?
• I don't like going to movies, and as result, I haven't seen many.
With how little I saw, I would say Bolt was a good movie...if Disney hadn't recycled those same plots over and over. The theme of "You can be a hero without powers" was tied into a Homeward Bound kinda situation. I poke fun at it, so funny is a good thing! XD
21. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
• I turned 17
• I decided not to have a separate party with my friends, but instead, I just had a dinner with my family, and that was good enough for me.
22. What kept you sane?
• My close friends Steve, Joey, and Ashley. I have to thank them for a lot!
• Nascar races on the weekends...to help soothe my mind for difficult Mondays at school
• Music...to equally soothe my mind at any given time
23. Who did you miss?
• My sister. Even if she carried a tension in the air around her, having her away at college so much does make me miss her. She tried to be home every other week, so I'm thankful for that.
• My friend Ashley. We spent a lot of time together earlier in the year, but when she graduated, she went to a college far away. Even on breaks, I rarely get to see her.
24. Who was the best new person you met?
• Well, I met him the year before, but I first got to know him this year. Danny and I have become close friends, and we're the craziest bunch you'll ever see. XD
25. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008:
(nothing that I would not already have known before, but some things were very present this year)
• I learned that true friends wont ever leave you behind. Through the thick and the thin, they will always be there for you when you need them most.
And I added some artwork related questions...
1. [Art] What was your favourite picture you drew in 2008?
• Probably the Lollipop picture. As I said, me and Ashley would listen to Mika's album all the time, so it reminds me of those silly time. Plus, Ashley is the proud owner of the actual piece, and there's nothing like making gifts for friends.
2. [Art] What picture did you get the most feedback on?
• Pfft! I don't know! I don't call "Oh, how cute" to be feedback. I probably get most feedback on my pieces for AP Portfolio. Those pieces, though, are posted on my DA page, since they're not furry in the slightest.
3. [Art] How many pictures did you draw in 2008?
• Including sketches and the stuff I did in art class, it has to be up near 100...
4. [Art] What was the biggest picture you drew?
• Biggest? Hah, that's definitely from AP Portfolio.
It was probably the abstract painting I did of a fox...which I think was some 24 inches at the height. I'm planning on making more of them for other animals.
5. [Art] What was the smallest picture you drew?
• Oh jeez! The furry sketches I do that make it to become actual finished pieces can be as small as 5 inches or so. I usually draw a lot bigger than that.
6. [Art] What projects you planned did you finish?
• It's still in the works, but my series of twelve pieces in AP Portfolio is coming along perfectly! I am very proud of what it has to show.
7. [Art] What projects you planned you did not finish?
• I planned to draw a group picture of all of my characters, but it never found its way onto paper.
• I planned to paint the bow of the rusted Titanic, but after failing, I gave up.
8. [Art] Your personal achievement concerning your art?
• Well, considering I was one of four who got an A in my AP Art class, I think I was doing something right this past semester in art. My skills for traditional art have improved greatly!
• A few students I didn't even know pulled me aside in the hallways to compliment me on the artwork I had in the art show. That was very awkward to get that out of nowhere...and more so to be called by name!
9. [Art] What could you have done better / done more of?
• Spending some quality time with my acrylics instead of rushing into things
• Doing more art trades or pieces for friends
• Drawing more cutesy things for people to spazz over
10. [Art] Any plans for next year?
• Spend more time talking to my online friends in a quality manner. I feel bad having them wanting to talk to me when I'm busy with stuff.
• Draw more furry art with a bigger variety of poses, especially ones that are not solos.
• Keep up my grades in all my classes, hopefully and partly, because I go to sleep earlier than 2am on school nights.

AP Artness
Posted 17 years agoSo, I've been in school for two complete weeks already and am currently starting the third. For the sake of my wanting of free time for my senior year, I decided to go a little easy on the AP classes I was planning on taking. Now now...some of you know how stressful school was last year and don't want me to take anything of that level, BUT AP classes are fun! No busy work, right?
Okay, so my schedule for this semester follows:
Honors Econ
Computer Art and Design
AP Art Portfolio
AP Calculus AB
AP Biology
Honors Senior LA
Easy enough, right?
Let's talk about that those art classes! Good stuff.
As if I wasn't already decent at doing computer art, I signed up for the year-round course. I figured I could use some more knowledge of Photoshop...since I have it, but don't tend to use it. The class has been a breeze thus far...but I hope we'll get a little more in depth sometime soon.
Now for the mother of all art classes offered at my school, AP Portfolio. It is a year-round course as well, offered only to juniors and seniors who've excelled in other art classes. This class is the sole reason I didn't want to take many AP classes. The workload of this class is crazy! One amazingly amazing piece each week. Sadly, you know what that means...those of you who watch my DA page are going to be seeing a lot of un-fuzzy artwork.
I'm glad to be in the class, though...for it can earn me a scholarship if I'm good enough. ^^
