Life Update :<
Posted 10 years agoNot such a good few weeks. My grandmother was hospitalized shortly before Thanksgiving. She recovered, unexpectedly, but now needs care 24/7 so I am helping with that. Some days are like a gift, but other times she's distraught and there's nothing to be done because she thinks reassurances that the house is not on fire are lies. Now my ferret hurt herself on her bedding, the same type of bedding they've had for the past two years I've had them, and the vet wants her to stay overnight a second day.
I apologize for being so inactive, it feels like every time I'm happily resolved to being more productive... stuff goes awry. I can still be contacted if anyone needs to reach me, and I'll be working on stuff on and off for now so hopefully there will be more things posted soon.

Inktober 2015
Posted 10 years agoSo I am gonna try to do it this year aw yeah! Art will probably be scanned in chunks instead of daily because I am not always at a place with a scanner. It will be DONE daily though! Cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye.
I'll mostly be using my mess of characters for this. Any suggestions as to what characters you might like to see done in inky stuff are welcome, I got 31 of these to do (28 to go) so fresh ideas might be a good plan.
Anyone else doing inktober? I love to see traditional media.
Inspiration Halp
Posted 10 years agoHey all. I'm trying to maintain some activity here every week (at least) and hopefully also do that with my blog too because otherwise why have one amirite? Problem is, I'm really horribly utterly consumed by a much larger project and keep forgetting to work on... anything else. I AM HOPING that this project will be all ready to go in about half a month but that is why it consumes me so.
It makes pickings slim for smaller, more frequent updates though. That's no good. I want to make scribbly doodles and tiny short stories/drabbles in between burying myself in this project.
So please please ask me questions about/for my characters. Tell me things you want to see. Give me something to think about besides my current project. ANYTHING.
"What is X's favorite color?"
"Who is most likely to overdraw their bank account?"
"I'd love to see something involving unicorns."
"Do you have any undead characters?"
ANYTHING. Because right now it is so hard to think about not this project and since I can't post it that seems to mean I'm doing almost nothing and that's not okey.
Story Up~
Posted 10 years agoHello Watchers! And any other peeps who pop by.
I am excited to say that I've posted a prologue to one of my longest stories today! The super wonderful Kiocah was kind enough to help me with a cover image for it, she's done most of the cover artwork for the things I post so if the art in my Gallery appeals to you I suggest you go check her out!
I've been working on this story since October. It has developed into a series and I have spent months outlining it, working out characters, and roughing out a few scenes. The prologue is finished, so that's what I've posted. I'm hoping to get some feedback so I can use whatever critiques and suggestions people have to improve my writing for it. I have finished the outline so the story itself will not be changed, but I do want to know what people think of it.
I'm also hoping that by posting it up I will feel more obligated to keep working at it. It's so easy to get distracted by other ideas! I have a bunch of the other stories I've been playing with listed up in my That feeling of being watched... journal in case you have curiosity for my other projects. I am also still open to anyone who'd want to Pick someone for a short as sometimes it is easier to play around with quick little stories to get a better feel for my settings.
Labyrinth: Haunted Prologue for anyone who wants to know what the heck I'm talking about without having to click all the way over to my Gallery for it.
Thanks for dropping by my page!

Wonderful Artists
Posted 10 years agoI have recently acquired two peices of artwork that moooove <3
Both .gifs came out amazing. If any of you guys ever wanted one of your characters to do something besides sit or stand perfectly still, I completely recommend both of the following artists. They are also lovely to work with as a commissioner.
nothing-but-sweets did two of my faife being adorable
sightlessbutterfly made this very cute picture of Sunny listening to music
For regular art, which is just as wonderful, I have commissioned many talented artists most of whom I would happily recommend to anyone looking for some art of a character. There are a lot of lovely people to list, so I may have missed someone, but I'd like to take a moment to recommend the following artists. Not all of them are currently open for commissions, but all of them are worth checking out. Not only is their artwork great all of them were quite pleasant to work with.
SalKitten
Kiocah who also did a great .gif for me but I... didn't upload it anywhere. Mine.
YaoiMeowmaster
Silly_bree_nya
nepetacide
Deikitten
KeroTheStrange
lilmissjames
MariLimmy
padmenvy
shinkei-shinto
Saucy
Rottie.
hanazawa, who does not accept Paypal but was fantastic in helping me to learn a very simple alternate payment site and whose art is definitely worth it.

Posted 10 years agoHELLO WATCHERS. I dunno where you're coming from, seriously omg why. Someone tell me why? I don't know :c WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME AND MY (almost) EMPTY GALLERY?
Erm. Yes. Anyway. I DO have things I am working on, but I am super distraction and jump and fuss and fret over all of them at once. So, here is the 'priority' list of 'all of them at once'. A few use the same setting, some are series. All are in the outline and development process, with worldbuilding and character developing and backgrounding and all that jazz. Will probably take a while. As in, a long time. But I may post some of the short-stories I write of the character background developing stuff, because some of that is fun. I'll note which stories share a setting, some stand alone and some are just in the same world. Some have crossover, some do not, so no crossover promises. Some are more refined than others. It will probably be obvious which. Sort of in order of how much I've prioritized, sort of.
FAIFE STORY. This is happening. This is huge priority. I must write this. kiocah has info on Faife if you are curious. Check out kiocah for faife. Yes.
Haunted – modern fantasy/supernatural, Labyrinth setting Book One(ish)
Something is amiss in the realm of the dead. Jake is the only one the ghosts can speak with. He knows he should not ignore a plea for help, but getting involved with the dead may cost him the chance to fit in with the living.
Marked – Labyrinth setting Book Two(ish)
lol spoilers nopenopenope ...and trusting the wrong person would be the last mistake he'd ever make.
Harbinger – Labyrinth setting Book Three(ish)
lol spoilers nopenopenope
Ironspine – uh... 'dystopian future'? I dunno. SciFi sounds wrong. Blood and Oil setting.
Magic and machine don't mix well in an unwilling host. It's only a matter of time before his body is as ripped up and tattered as what's left of his soul, but time is exactly what he needs to right the wrongs that were done. There are many ways to purchase time, but sometimes the present can swallow up the past.
Fractured – Blood and Oil setting
“Please stop calling me a doctor, I'm not a doctor. I never finished my studies. I was...” He hesitated, the long, rusting scar where his spine used to be beginning to itch. “Interrupted,” he finished weakly, trying to maintain an air of calm with the eyes of too many strangers upon him.
Nonborn Blood and Oil short (or it was a few chapters ago orz)
Does having a mortal creator really mean never being able to achieve that wondrous freedom called personhood?
Soul Thief – medieval fantasy style world, setting 1 (for current lack of setting name)
Clinging to his stolen personality, a necromancer's pet flees his accidental creator. With the guidance of a cunning exile, he attempts the impossible challenge of making the others of his kind into 'people' as well... by giving them a god of their own.
Foresight – medieval fantasy style world, setting 1
When a naïve wish for his father's approval has unintended consequences a young noble swears to do whatever it takes to set things right, but the journey to keeping that promise may have unexpected occurrences of its own.
Unlikely – medieval fantasy style world, setting 1
A felidae on her story-quest scrounges up the oddest assortment of traveling companions she can find in hopes of creating the greatest adventure the goddess has ever added to The Great Library.
Destiny Divine – medieval fantasy style world
When a multi-realm war results in the death of the god of nature, the mortal world is thrown off-balance. Inspired by a vision his ambitious disciple sets out to restore the natural order. A dead god leaves big shoes to fill, but someone has got to step up to the challenge...
Compromising Situations – uhhh... scifi I guess?
A young woman's campaign to stop a new mine's pollution gets her the wrong sort of attention. When she is placed as a priority on the hitlist of a dangerous assassin, she finds herself in very strange company as her simple movement escalates into something a lot bigger than she'd ever wanted. Together, they might discover just how far one voice can reach, provided her protectors don't murder one anther first.
Shadow Fall - medieval fantasy setting, kind of a triggery story am uncertain about it
A 'lesser creature' gets tangled up in the consequences of an ancient war that spawned from mankind's half-forgotten trespass.
Sun and Snow – medieval fantasy style comic
Am not creative for this one right now. Ahem. Main character suffers from severe memory loss, trying to put the pieces together while pretending all is well for the people that seem to be part of a traveling group except... MC doesn't remember who they are whoops. I dunno. Huge work in progress, will probably take a few more years ._.
Hey, if anyone is especially interested in any of these, or if some of the characters I have made some sort of ref of catch your interest, feel free to ask about them. Interest helps yield some inspiration, so if you like something maybe you could convince me to work on that thing more often. Otherwise it'll pretty much stay random.
Whoop whoop pile of random stuff here. Let me know your thoughts, I'd rather do something you people would like than do something you have no interest in. There are OPTIONS after all!

So then... question.
Posted 10 years agoSo now that I have watchers, I has a question for them :3
What sort of things do you like? I don't have anything on my page right now, but I enjoy writing and I will eventually be posting that and some art-ish stuff on here. When it (and I) am ready anyway. But while watchers who watch after looking through a gallery are easier to understand, I don't actually know what you guys would be interested in. It's not going to change my overall goals, I have been working too long on my roughs and outlines to throw them all away for something else, but I AM curious all the same.
What sort of stories/art are you guys interested in? Is it all about the adventure? The romance? Got a thing for wolves? For ferrets? Nimble rogues? Huge warriors? Heroes or antiheroes? Tragic stories or happy endings? Magic or science? Modern or medieval or futuristic?
Come on guys, tell me what you like :3
Watchers
Posted 10 years agoSeriously guys, there's been nothing here for ages why?
But thank you for your preemptive support. I will try to upload things. I just do not have many things worth uploading right now. I will work on that!
Thank you for your support ;A;
Snow snow snow
Posted 10 years agoWe have gotten a lot of snow this last week and a bit where I live. So much so that my job actually closed today, finally. This means I got a whole extra eight hours of time to work on stuff! Now I have a whole bunch more color references for my characters, and I finished roughing out another chunk of outline for their stories. For the first time in forever I feel as though I've had a productive day.
I love days off, but I hate having to drive in the messy, slushy, icy roads. Hope everyone has good weather, or at least good roads, where they are.
Glee~
Posted 11 years agoWon my first auction just a bit ago. Will probably not be getting such things as coffee before work and take-out for... uh, a while. But so completely worth it. I always feel more motivated to work on a story when I have art of the characters. I'm excited for the idea all over again, I'm just distracted by the artwork at the moment. It's sooooo so sosososo cute.
Made my day. Thanks to salkitten for the auction :3
(Go love all the fabulous art on Sal's page. Go go!)
First Journal
Posted 11 years agoI've been rattling around this site long enough, I figured it was well past time to make a journal. I don't really have all that much to say, but at this point I should have at least had one! So, tada, here it is.
I am and have been working on projects, but as I am mind-numbingly slow it seems really silly to wait to make a journal until I've finished something worth sharing. My user page is so bare and empty. Had to post something. Journal seems to be the easiest. So journal it is.
That seems to be all I've got to say. Kind of shy, but trying to branch out a bit. Hullo FR, I've been here a while but I don't talk much. Nice to be here though :3
50 journals skipped
