Posted 7 years agoH'lo. Well, my 11th (and maybe my last) Furbowl went over well. We didn;t have as many attendees, but those that did come, well, you were all from very close by. I had a BALL at the IHOP rrestaraunt afterwards. I gotts to say I missed many of my old friends. I guess y'all have better things to do. I know who ya are, and yes, its cool you've moved on.
I did have a lot of fun. Maybe I'll do some more. but.. I just caint place my paw on it,
something is gone. maybe our 'tradish' or 'old school' approach to our core, our artwork method or even our love to the old cartoons, flix or our media approach : it has become quickly obsolete. I dunno. No one does paper drawings anymore, no one does posts to a semi permanent web gallery like FA or DA. It is all on insta or tele gram, which streams away quickly via 'gimme' messages and poorly done sticker art before an admirer can see an artist's intended value. All gone, within 4 posts off screen, all on your little 10cm tall screens. A shame. Art should be seen in at least 1 time from the artists view "Walk a Mile in My Shoes" and the teeny port that a 10 cm screem is a cramped viewpoint to work from. To you damned milennials who confine your little tiny tether to existance to the 10cm screen apple or android - DAMN YOU! You have NO appreciacion to the WONDERFUL world that is beyond your electronic toys. I would CONDEMN you to the empty life you will deserve,
except that you might consider to turn away from the 10cm screen, and look your favorite artist in their eye, and tell them you truly admire their efforts.
I know I am way off base in this journal. But I just love the art that I see, and I see the way it is quickly bypassed or discarded on this new type of social media. mark My Words... from a ragged, stinking OLD coyote. This "social Media" is YOUR DEATH

Posted 7 years agoI am not one who complains about my feelings but I just have to get this off my mind. I am suffering from a depression so crushing I have been unable to do anything beyond getting out of bed. I have no motivation to do anything. I have no appetite. I don't feel sad, or lonely, or disgusted. Just unemotional, empty. It's like how you feel when you first wake up, before you've washed your face or had the morning coffee, except it lasts all day.
I am having problems with my ankle and knee joints, probably due to the lethargy. I know I have an alcohol addiction problem. I can't rid myself of it alone. This is I am sure, at the core of my depression and lethargy. I can't reach out very well because there are few local programs beyond the dogmatic '12 step' programs, I think I'll need medical help to shake off the physical withdrawal. Every time I try to stop, I get the shakes so bad I just want to hide away. Wife is my Rock, Glad she's here. I can't do the electronic hobby stuff anymore, 'cause I shake too much. Can't fix car anymore 'cause of the shake. Don't play guitar much annymore, because nerves are so bad. AND ITS MY OWN FUCKIN FAULT! But I want to rid myself of the alcoholism so badly. Help Me.
At any rate, I am OK... I'm STILL going to try to Host this... Maybe this may motivate...

P.C.D.
Posted 7 years agoI had a great time at Anthrocon this year. Played in the poker tournament for awhile, volunteered in Reg and Art Show, walked in that big parade, ate at Primanti's, cool room parties, romped with new and old freinds, all the above.
But, I set my camera wrong aand not a single bloody picture is worth publication. Blurred, dark, light. I'm getting tired of Canons, next one will definately be a Nikon or summent else.

AC Saturday Eve
Posted 7 years agoWhat a day... fursuit photo shoots, the fursuit parade, (best I have walked in lately) artist alley, bid on art, (I hope I don't win) dealers den, full of shiny furry trinkets. I probably walked nearly 10 miles, much of it in my uncomfortable fursuit feetpaws. . And to top it off, we spent the evening on the roof of the DLCC gazing at planets and stars. Jupiter, Saturn, Alberion, M3 cluster. Spent a few minutes in the big dance, and roamed around the front of the Westin. I met Mannick there, and my conversation has turned me to the idea of a furmeet, one I had awhile back - let's meet on U 30 near Breezewood PA, take about a 2 mile hike on abandoned sections of the PA Turnpike, and into the Sideling Hill Tunnel. Ideas anyone? As I write, its just after 1 AM sunday. Early in the night for hundreds of con victims, but not for me. [All of those boys out looking for a last lil bit of boy-cock] ... After Friday and today, I just don't have the staying power I had some time back. But, there Is Tomorrow, after all.
Pictures later, pals...

See you in the Pitt! Dilly-Dilly!
Posted 7 years agoI'll be seeing you very soon at Anthrocon!!!!!
Strangely enough, I've tried various ideas to acquaint myself with the other furries around me so that I wouldn't feel alone at the convention. Backyard pic a nics, parades, furbowls, etc. Unfortunately, many of you won't be at AC due to other reasons, (same as my absence for the past 2 years) and I'll miss you. But, many of you who came to my furbowls will be there, so I'm looking forward to it! I'm packed for it, everything is lined up, and Launch Sequence is Ready to start!

Anthrocon, just in time, too
Posted 7 years agoHappily we are going to attend Anthrocon! Just in time for me, too. I'm slipping into a pretty bad cycle of depression which has had made me lethargic. I've lost interest in a lot of things lately- guitars, electronics, outdoor stuff... Hopefully the convention experience will reboot my interests.
Hope to see ya there!

Crap I get

Zippy Coyote, [13.05.18 20:00]
I think what I am trying to say- and maybe I am being old fashioned- is that I always liked the idea of Deviant Art and/or Furraffinity as being an 'artists showcase'. A gallery. I guess I do not see how FB, TG, or IG can be a lasting image gallery, because once a posted image is commented upon a few times, it is scrolled away into a 'difficult to retrieve' place. Maybe I am missing something.
Zippy Coyote, [13.05.18 20:02]
I seemed to actually have an Identity with a group of a couple dozen furs on DA/FA. I don't know half of the furs here on TG. And now I am attacked by some newbies I have no knowledge of.
Are you trying to stifle my 1st Amendment rights? It aint gonna happen, commie.

9th hagerstown furbowl
Posted 7 years agoZippy's 9th Western Maryland Furbowl went off exeptionally well in Hagerstown this past Saturday. We had a large turnout, with over 30 visitors, and at least 15 fursuiters, some of whom were debuting their first or newest suits. Everyone had a great time and we adjourned to the local IHop for a late dinner!
Thanks Everyone!
Other than that, this time of year has me impatiently waiting for warmer weather, and I become lazy to the point of lethargy. (You can tell, because I just used the text from the furbowl submission for the above paragraph) That is why a furbowl is a big help. Peculiarly, ol' man winter hasn't visited our little corner too hard, unlike those of you in the NE and western Pa. It goes like this every so often.
We'll probably set a date for the next furbowl in late April or early May.

OLD SCHOOL BARBER CHIRIGURY
Posted 7 years agoO man! I went to an OLD SCHOOL barber today for my periodic "Buzz with a No.2 Attachment" Hair trim. Yep, peeples, I'm a fan of the Military Buzz-Cut. This barbershop was the Best, even tapered the back using a true hot-lather wet shave with a straight blade! Blazing Shades of Military martinets of WW1! Next time I go there, I'll get that tradish straight blade beard shave too... Becky's the best!

More winter blahs
Posted 7 years agoKeeshaba has had her surgery, ands she's home again. The lump is gone but not forgotten. It's on its way to analysis, and I hope they do not find it to be cancerous. I'll know more in a coupla days. She's doing fine, and in no apparent pain.
But wait there's more... Winter just doesn't quit until I'm in trouble I can't climb out of. Winter is like a long and abandoned railroad tunnel. Wednesday I woke up to a house that was only 45 degrees F inside. Our heat went out. At first I thought we'd run out of heating oil. So I called for a delivery, but immediately went out with 2 gas cans and put 10 gallons just to hold it over until Thrsday. I tried and tried to relight the furnace, no joy. I replaced the filter, tried again. Not being an experienced burner tech, I decided to call a serviceman in. $250 and a oil pump later we got the heat back on, just in time to face a 20 deg day today. At least the temperature was a moderate 40-45 degrees while the heat was out...
Let's hope thats the worst of it until spring. I'm praying for it.

AN update on Keeshaba and the lump on her rump...
I have scheduled surgery to have the lump excised in February. Needle aspiration samples have not given us info on the growth, whether it is a lipoma or a benign tumor. The vet is recomending that we have it removed, so as I say, surgery has been scheduled. She is not appear to be in any discomfort, indeed she is a chipper and active as she can be, for a 9 year old.
But this is a major medical expense that Skwirl and I are going to have a lot of trouble keeping up with.... I am trying a thing I really don't feel comfortable to do, and that's to ask for charity. I have set up a GoFundMe site to ask If anyone can help: just a little bit, I will be thankful, Skwirl will be thankful, and especially Keeshaba will Thank You!

Early 2018 update:
Posted 7 years agoSince I've been working a lot of hours, and busy with other stuff on top of being a coyote who hates winter and sleeps it off as much as he can, I've been rather lazy at FA, FB, or FC updates. (Not to mention AA, AB, and AC, BB, BC, wonderful WINO, and WXYZ too) Well at any rate, Christmas was fun, and so was Nude Deer.
On Dec 31, Skwirl and I had a great 'FAREWELL TO 2017' dinner, of a nice thick Strip Steak on New Year's Eve. It ain't too often we splurge to have a thick steak. We fixed this using the Sous Vide method, thanks to one of my furry friends! We've since done a number of other dishes this way, like salmon, pork chops, and even breakfast sausage. Awesome!
So that's how 2018 arrived, with a full belly and a glass of wine. Splendid!
But it was so cold... and I don't work as well when I am cold. Caught some kinda minor flu, was down and out for a few days.
And took our canine pal Keeshaba to the vet, to finally get a bump on her butt checked out. He tells me that she has some type of benign tumor growing on her rump. It may be a lipoma, but he's not sure. He is recomending that it be removed. The lump is slowly growing, and it's now about the size of a tennis ball. Don't worry, Keeshaba's not in any discomfort. But I have scheduled surgery to have the lump excised soon. This is a major medical bill that Skwirl and I are going to have a lot of trouble keeping up with.... I am trying a thing I really don't feel comfortable to do, and that's beg ask for donations. I have set up a GoFundMe site to ask If anyone can help: just a little bit, I will be thankful, Skwirl will be thankful, and especially Keeshaba will Thank You!

I am trying a thing I really don't feel comfortable to do, and that's

Happy New Year!
Posted 7 years agoHere's wishing everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR!
2017 has been a good but trying year. I hope things get better, not just for myself, but for America.
Y'all are in my Prayers!

Merry Christmas to y'all!
Posted 7 years agoChristmas has been a pretty good time this year! Seein's that I'm getting a bit older, it has tended to become a more sedate holiday, not really a bad thing. I'm not a lampshade-on-head party animal anymore. We went to my Parents house on Christmas Eve, had a few drinks and a buffet style dinner. I had cooked a big turkey-tit earlier using a new-to-me method (Sous-Vide, Thank you, Wuff!) that was a big hit. We also had several types of salad, turkey stuffing, spiral cut ham, berry and apple pies and you name it a half dozen other dishes, cheeses and you name it...
We usually go to a Christmas service at the tiny Eyler's Valley Chapel where Skwirl and I were married. RL Time didn't allow us to attend this year, but we did take a little time to remember the reason for the season, Our Savior's gift. We will attend a New Year service though.
Slept in late, while Skwirl took Keesh for her morning walk. (It was Skwirl's turn.) But not too late. Breakfast was a near disaster. It happens once in awhile.
The rest of this Christmas day , well, we will just be relaxin'. I'm making some alcoholic apple sauce (Recipe from Equestria's apple champ AppleJack) using the sous vide method, watchin' Mythbusters on TV, and the Skwirl's making some more fresh apple pie for our dinner tonight.
May we wish you each and everyone, God Bless you, and may you have a wonderful and prosperous 2018!

8th hagerstown furbowl AAR
Posted 8 years agoWe all had a pretty nice little time at last nite's furbowl, the 8th I've hosted here in our great huge metropolis in Western Maryland. Actually this has whole coupla days has turned from a mundane workaday into quite a fine fun weekend. I am very happy. And I have helped some others find a friendly time, and I left behind a lot of frosting-smeared forks and plates (The Cake was Dee-Lish!)
From this point forward, if I don't take time to update my FA Journal, I just want to wish all a MERRY CHRISTMAS and a Great New Year ahead!
