Need travel money to collect father's ashes
General | Posted a month agoI don't like asking for monetary help, and I struggled writing this with the balance of too much/too little information. I want to explain myself properly, but it's also a trauma I'm still living in that needs some privacy. I'm happy to answer questions.
I need travel funds to get my father's ashes and his belongings. I'm born to parents from 2 different countries, I didn't live in my dad's country at the time of his passing after a random stroke. (I had to leave a week before due to running out of money)
I have the money for tickets for me and my mother, but not enough for the housing and food. The father's side of the family will not help me, and consider it "drama", completely ignored, dismissed, and withhold information from us. I consider myself disowned due to this.
I was saving up from early on, but due to unexpected financial issues in the latter part of this year, we have been unable to save up enough.
My aim is at least 500€, but I try to get more. As I really want to stay an extra couple of days to visit 2-3 places with my mom that I visited with my dad, to help us heal more. I prefer to get this fund ASAP, as I'll be told to get the ashes w/o warning and expected to go that moment (I'm not sure what'll happen if I don't go that moment...)
I'm offering many discounted commissions/art, some of which is over 50% off! Here's a list
* Get a cheap character design! (Most batches are just €6, some are over 12€!)
* Surprise art (€20, quick turnaround)
* My sticker shop (launching soon, very anxious about it)
* A special auction for custom art that includes stickers (+shipping) of the art, it's about 60% cheaper than my usual rates
My Ko-Fi is linked with the character designs, donations are very appreciated. But please, consider picking up something! I genuinely love doing commissions and it helps me distract.
I can do more usual commissions for a cheaper price too! Just tell me what you'd like, and if you have a budget (I'm happy to work within limitations, it makes me get crafty!) *I don't use Ko-Fi/Paypal for things over 35€ as the fees get too high after that point, I do bank transfers for those via Wise

General | Posted a month agoI don't like to spam commissions or sales, especially since I don't have much original art posted here. And I promise once I got the money I need it'll DRASTICALLY calm down, as I prefer my commission/sales posts not to be too intrusive in my posting.
Expect adopts, auctions, YCH and commission options. They'll be lower priced and discounted. If you don't wanna see it, just use AD_IGNORE to your blacklist!

My dad died almost a year ago, it's getting close to the anniversary. I'm from 2 different cultures, so I live in a different country than him. I don't have his ashes or any of his belongings. There is money saved for the travel, but not enough. I need extra money for housing and food. I'm trying to earn at least 500€ additionally.
When will I need to collect his ashes? I don't know, my family has completely stonewalled me and my mother, never sent condolences after the day he died. But when they tell me to come to get him and his stuff, they expect me to come THAT minute. (All because I came within 12 hours when I heard my dad had a stroke. Now they think I got money for everything... But I'll keep it at that for now.)
