How is everyone? Good, I hope.

Currently sick. I was taking care of my mom after she got really sick, had to take her to the clinic with a high fever. Hoping I do not get it as bad, I have been staying hydrated and trying to rest.
It sucks because there's things I need to get done, but I am very limited in terms of energy. Kinda gets me bummed


I guess y'all could cheer me up by sharing anything you've recently drawn that you are really proud of? Or if you designed/adopted a new character?

I may not be able to get to every submission, and it will mostly be based on if I have a good idea for the design. I'm hoping to do these more than once a year, so more folks will have a chance.

I've had a variety of things going on lately.
I had originally planned to have commissions opened by the beginning of March, but I ended up doing some video work to take a load off a friend and a few other things stacked up from there.

I have nearly completed what I have in my queue, and I am definitely realizing I vastly underestimate how much time it will take me to finish things! (Thank you ADHD...) This is especially true when I accept projects that are more challenging, since I am apt to lose some motivation midway through as things get difficult.


So my new plan:
April- I will just be on a break to finish up personal work/ different collaborative projects.
There is a chance I may open for some design requests because I love doing those.

May- barring anything interfering, I will open for commissions! Limited slots

June- Depending on the commission situation, I may open up for more slots.


Is there anything you're hoping to see available in the future? Trades, adoptables, YCHs?

For whatever reason I am having trouble getting my meds filled- not because of money or anything like that... my prescription is literally just sitting in limbo and no one can tell me why. I've been back and forth trying to get answers/get meds filled... so long that I ran out.

It's really impacting my ability to focus and get work done. I can really only go in spurts. I can barely sleep.

I'm just so frustrated that I finally got on something that did me so much good, and it's been ripped away from me like this. I try to remind myself that things will get sorted out, but I really did not expect this to take so long.

Delays to be expected. I was planning opening commissions soon, but given the way things are going right now.... I have no idea what this month is gonna be like.

Thank you everyone that has requested a commission. I was truly not expecting to have this much on my plate. I will be going through my notes and trying to respond to everyone.

I will open back up once I have made more progress on what's already in my queue.

Other things have me emotionally overwhelmed, so hopefully that will pass soon. Hoping I dont receive any correspondence from family, that will just bring me further down.

Took in a rat (named Ratticus Finch) who looks like he's gonna need at least a big abscess removed and who knows what we'll discover. once we get him checked out. The poor boy is older, so he will face a challenge in getting adopted once he heals up... so I'm thinking he is just gonna stay with us.

I have so many plans for this month, its just a matter of getting things organized (which has been much easier with meds now!).

Possibly a Terrible Tales in the works? They haven't been really popular, but I love making these.

The rat rescue is currently at capacity and there's been a lot of vet bills, so to help I'm going to be keeping commissions open and donating the money to the rescue.

I picked up some fosters last Sunday and both are suffering from a bad infestation of mites. Basically picture a very handsome strawberry blond rat, and then imagine his back end looks like Freddy Krueger's butt cheek and you have a decent idea of what my foster Thor looks like.
No matter how many precautions I took, anything short of a hazmat suit was gonna land me with my own little colony of skin munchers. As much as it irritates me, I can only imagine how bad it must feel for these boys. Thor cries out in pain any time he tries to groom himself. Loki kinda just stays curled up in a sad ball and looks at you like he's begging you to make it stop.

Luckily I have kitten flea and tick shampoo to help alleviate the infestation both in myself and in the boys.
The vet gave them a dose of ivermectin and its been a huge relief. I've ordered myself a medicated soap that should come in soon... really tempted to try getting horrifically drunk to see if I can make my body incompatible to these little parasites. I've been joking that I've put some much steroid cream on the worst rashes that the mites have opened up a gym and are busy getting swol.

Earlier in the week I had to take Watson to the emergency vet- don't worry he is doing fine now.

Oh yes, I joined in for the first time ever.
If nothing else, it will be a good chance to use up some nervous energy and try out random ideas.

Feeling a little bored with my own work and just want to work on inking again. So send me some of your sketches to ink.

I was well for a few days but it seems I am either having the worst allergies, or I caught something again because my coworkers nasty... seriously, when I had a cold a week ago I had a sign up on my cubicle that said "I am SICK, please keep your distance" and people would still come up to my desk for things that could be an email...

I'm also just super cranky because my throat is sore from sinuses draining. I was gunna have a weekend to enjoy myself and I'm stuck bed because I feel so crummy

As such I have to put everything on hold again. If you are interested in Commissions it will have to be delayed a week

First order of business... I caught the friggin' flu! I only go to work and the store, I barely have any human contact beyond adoptions, but one of the guys at work was hacking and I think he's the one that gave it to me.

New foster rat

Someone threw their female rat out in the alley, in her cage. Animal Control was called and they contacted the rescue once they had her at their shelter, and the rescue called me since I was the closest. We took her home and it looks like she might be pregnant. She's a sweetheart, she was obviously loved enough that she has no fear of people, so it's baffling that she was thrown out like that.

We're currently on baby watch. Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly.

Since it's looking like my whole office will be staying home tomorrow due to ice (and I can't do my job from home) I might as well while away the day doing art.
