We're rebuilding the website on the new server- and we need some help! We can pay (though not much) and I'm willing to trade art for it, as well (see occoris and desertwindproductions for examples)- in Addition, if you're a musician and experienced in this field, we'll fun a Spotlignt on you the first week the Stream is running full steam- which will include an interview with your songs played throughout (probably no more than 15min, but we haven't set that much in stone yet.) It will be posted here as well, that that People can find it in the future.

I do have a basic Idea of what I want (VERY basic) and would Prefer the site made in something like Joomla or Wordpress to keep things easier for those of us who are tech-sorry (as opposed to savvy) to work with.

Likely in the next few months!

For now, Here is the news- Bad first, and then good, so we go out on a high note-

I broke my USB stick.
This shouldn't be a problem, except that there was a small bit of information that hadn't made it onto the big computer yet, and was only on the USB- and all of it was ZooFonics related.

Most of it was new music- only three artists or so were impacted, but I have NO CLUE WHICH, so I'm going to have to dedicate my day off to figuring that out- If it was a big impact, chances are that artists in question will receive a note or email with regards to it, but it shouldn't be a big issue.
The above is also the reason that I haven't responded to any notes yet! It's my way of staying organized- Hold tight, I'll get to you as soon as this is sorted!

Next up-
We're in the process of setting up the database so that the music can be stored elsewhere for streaming, accessed by the DJs, but not distributed to every one of them individually. . .
We're going to try to work it out on our end and with the help of some other radio-Furs, but if not, Expect a "HALP PLZ" journal here in the next few weeks.

I haven't been made privy to all the details, but a friend of mine is looking for some techno for a video he's making- here's what I know:

-it's a car video- Honda specifically
-may or may not end up on YouTube
-pre-existing things only (it's just easier that way)

We've been putzing around the last week or so trying to get things back into gear-

in fact, there's a vocal update coming up in the next week or so.

All you need to know right now?

We're in the process of fixing the issue that is caused inherently by the use of the .PLS file, which is not supported by all media players (especially those of the Windows variety.)

Since we seem to be horrible with embedding things (I've broken the php on the listen page so many times now it's not even funny) there's a pop-out version that so far seems to be working quite splendidly. . . We'll have some more info once shade and I can get on at the same time to test it properly.

I've been noticing that a lot of people have trouble listening to the streams, because they're not sure how to make the .pls file work or whatever.

I'm making this journal so you can comment below and ask us any questions regarding the station, whether it be technical difficulties or not. Maybe in the future, we can reference back to this journal for a little FAQ or whatever.

We're still alive and, well, kinda kickin. Things have been pretty busy for both myself and occoris, so we haven't had time to really stream. However, we are making progress! We might be having a dedicated server for music and things to stream with coming along soon, and better internet connections for both myself and occoris are in the future!

I've been experimenting with a legit copy of SAM Broadcaster 4.2.2, and I might be giving you guys another test stream soon. However, I probably wont be getting any mic time since my mixer broke.

So the other night, the stream didnt get too many listeners, considering how late it was held, so I decided it'd be cool to have another stream today at a better time! :3

So this time around, the stream will be held at 1:00pm PST. Considering how late the stream ended the other night, I think this time I'll predict it ending around 3:00pm... Maybe later, idk. I'm trying to be more talkative during breaks, and I'm hoping to do a few contests. No prizes, besides recognition.

So I figured it's been WAY too long since the last Zoofonics stream. I seem to have a great internet connection as of late, so I'm gonna test it out and see how good of quality I can stream tonight.

WHOAH, yeah, guys, this is still a work in progress, and yes, progress is actually still being made.

ANYWAY, actual reason for posting this-

I decided that the whole idea of PG_13 was rather childish and frankly kind of silly, and restrictive in a way tha I and what little team I have would not be able to really monitor, so- it's out the window. There are still some basic things in place, some general monitors in place to keep a particular kind of ... agression out. it's a fluid rule, and I'm having a difficult time putting it into words, but the bias will be made more directly toward content as opposed to words and phrases themselves. so, for instance, if the entire thing is mostly "i'm gonna kill you and rape your family and eat your cat" then, yeah, that song probably won't be played. but, theoretically, we're adults and, as an adult, I personally tend to swear alot, so it's a horrible idea to do that to the music, too.

I've heard it hte past few years on a local radio station in my area, so I decided to download it off their website and play it for all of you tonight :3 The show will probably go on until 11pm PST since I'll be throwing in a few intermissions full of christmas tunes (including some from furries) for ya'll (and myself) to go take a potty break :3

Alright, guys-

He, nor any of his alter egos, are on our playlists.

And here is why.

We sent him our general letter saying "yo, 'sup, want yer music played? (except fancier than that)

and he said:
"I'll have to think about it and get back to you on the subject; VULPvibe as a record company already has its own radio station streaming our releases 24/7, so I don't feel as though it would be necessary to have it broadcast somewhere else, what with it constantly being available in one place."
(that is his message in full, sans signature at the end)

this occurred last November (2008)

I'm not putting this up here to slight anyone, and if i hear bad being talked near this journal about him because of it (i.e: no stuck-up-butthead sorts of remarks) I'll be taking an action.

I'm receiving a laptop for Christmas (something to do with it being my last "real" one- the nuances of my father and how being 18 relates to Christmas somewhat eludes me)

SO!
this computer will be receiving a general sort of overhaul- everything unimportant will be loaded off, as far as programs go, and It will continue to exist as the place for ZF to occur and a sort of backup drive for my laptop.

SO now, we're down to just needing anothe rplace to backup ZF files and the DJing program.
Sort of on a roll-
I'm not officially back to working on this yet, but I'm somewhat excited for it again.

I may have found a DJ program other than SAM or WIMAMP that I can use- and that I can learn to use at school-
I'll be looking into it in a few moments, as well as trying to catch up on all the notes and Emails.

I don't -like- to do it, but I feel as though I -have- to.

ZooFonics is simply -not ready- for the release month of September.
It looked like a very good, realistic goal up until it started to get closer and I realized that, aside from the music (of which I believe we now have roughly twelve hours of, in total) we have almost nothing else set up to accommodate this endeavor- or at the very least, nothing to do this and to do it professionally.

Items required:
A dedicated Computer (or server) (or two) The Idea behind this one is that our DJs can remote in to the same box, so that the change between shows is less stop and go. if all else fails, then if/when I naturally get a new computer or other working device, I may just bump zoofonics streaming to this computer that I use now.
A remote-Access Program, such as GoToMyPC It would be most optimal to have the remote access program capable of input from a remote microphone)
an external hard drive so that we don't lose anything, should the computer fail.
Good Sound Card This mostly applies to the -if we use my current computer- scenario, but may apply to a new box, as well.
SAM Broadcaster

If you have a recommendation, then please shoot it our way. We appreciate Input- and I'm no Hardcore audiophile (i like music, but I know nothing of computers, really.)

I will still be working as hard as I can on ZooFonics, but I'm just about to start college- and on top of this, I'm pretty busy, anyway (somehow)
