Miniature horse update.
Posted 10 years agoMy little Star, whom is all fat and round, has been lying to me. She is not pregnant like she should be. Now she needs to go on a diet, and exercise program. This is not a problem really since it was not my intention to buy a bred mare. Although I bet a baby mini would have been uber cute.
Horse of my dreams update.
Posted 10 years agoAfter much contemplation, I decided that it would be in my best interest not to pursue the purchase of, Flying Squrrel. I instead found a beautiful miniature horse named Star. I brought her home in the back seat of my car on new years eve. Got some real funny looks from passing motorists. She fits in perfectly at her new home, and we are both very happy. I am still taking donations on Gofund me, to help pay for unexpected emergency care, and some ferrier care to correct an improper hoof alignment.
Need a good, free .wav file edit program.
Posted 10 years agoI have an audio track where about 30 minutes in, the left and right channel go out of sync. and I would like to edit the file so they are back in sync. Anyone know a good free editing program that lets you cut and paste individual channels?
I have found the horse of my dreams, I need a little help.
Posted 11 years agoHer up front cost is a bit much for me. please donate: http://www.gofundme.com/ez8e4c
Gaaaa! I got Pink Eye.
Posted 11 years agoI don't know where or how, but I got pink eye! Now all I can think about is South Park.
Too good to let go.
Posted 12 years agoToday I bought a vertical masticating juicer. I was going to hold off till my finances were better, but the deal was too good to pass up. The juicer I bought sells normally for $330.00, but was on sale for $170.00. When I got to the Khols store, I was told that if I applied for a Khols credit card I would get 15% off. I didn't get the card, but still got the discount. So after tax, I only paid $165.00 for the juicer. A savings of almost $185.00. And boy was that strawberry, blackberry, pear, and apple juice good!
Adventures in automotive.
Posted 13 years agoSo my wonderful room mate, whom I literally can't live without, was planning to treat me to a meal at Chipotle, for driving him to the eye doctor. We get to the car, with burrito on the brain, and what sound meets our ears as I turn the key. The delightful silence that comes from a battery whose soul has gone to god. Now I knew the battery was dying, so this event was no surprise. A trip planned to the battery warehouse for Friday, was now moved to ... right now. As luck would have it there was just enough juice left in the battery to run the fuel injectors. We labored to push the car up a mild inclne, backwards out of my parking space. And with a quick pop of the clutch {always buy a stick shift for just such an event}, the care roars to life. Ok its a four cylinder so roar is a bit of a lie. But none the less, we are rolling in the joys of internal combustion. Straight off to the warehouse for a new power cell. $99.99, whee. My friend adds to his long, and impressive list of kind deeds, and covers the cost of the battery, to be paid in full Friday, when my money ship docks at the bank. Our meal at Chipotle was amazing. My day off almost wasted. The end.
Rest in peace my sweet loving Rachel.
Posted 13 years agoTonight for the first time in over eight years, I am alone. No loving companion to lay at my feet, no sound on crunching dog food, or lapping of water, only the low hum of the cooling fans on my computer, punctuated by the clicking of the keys as I type. On February 8, 2012, I lost my heart and soul, the very fiber of my being, and the only thing in life I had of any real value. What started out to be just a little belly ache, was a truly life ending problem, that could not be saved. I cannot begin to express all the ways I will miss her. The emptyness has torn my heart out. She was the best dog I have ever known, and I work at a dog rescue, so that means something. If there is an existence after this, I know she will be waiting there for me no matter how long it takes. I will love you till the day I die Rachel, rest in peace.

Would it be so bad if life was fair!?
Posted 14 years agoNever had I had to do something so hard, as I have done this morning. I had to break bad news to a man, that I both respect and love, that would shatter his heart, and steal away one of his most precious dreams. A pain as bad as death, is the loss of a loved one, when they must leave you, and travel a different path in life. I wish there was something I could do, I feel so helpless. I have failed him. The bittersweet fact that his love is safe, will be loved, and cared for offers little comfort in the emptiness without her. In their short time together I have never seen him happier, but apart I have never seen such anguish, except that which Hollywood creates.
So again I ask would it be so bad if life was fair? How much worse could that be?

What a sad story, can anybody help them out!
Posted 14 years agoInto a life a little light shines, and then...
Posted 14 years agoSnap, the frames on my glasses just snapped. I will have to get that fixed tomorrow. If they cannot fix it I can get replacement frames for 75.00 plus shipping. Oddly enough the idea of my glasses breaking has been popping into my head for a few days now. Listen to your little voice it knows more than you do.
Zoom Zoom update WTF MPG!!!
Posted 14 years agoSo I went and visited an old friend today. He lives about 65 miles away. I filled the new (used) car all the way, and reset the trip odometer so I could get MPG calculations. My round trip was 130 miles, and I used 3.279 gallons of gas. Now for the record the car was advertised to get 28 MPG on the highway, but my calculated MPG was 39. I want to know how that is possible!

Posted 14 years agoThanks to the most awesome roomate in all of God's creation. I am now the proud owner of a 2006 Mazda 6I sedan. Far better fuel mileage than my prior ride, and with more bells, and whistles than I can shake a stick at. I am lucky, the Mazda only had one owner, and it has only 50k miles on it. I got raped on the interest rate (no thanks to some crap that killed my credit a few years back), but I got a good deal on the car, and my trade-in. It will save me more than enough in gas, to offset the costs, so I has a serious happy right now. I still need to find a second job so that I can eat more than just cereal, and spaghetti, but this will go a long way to getting my life back in the black.
Ah what a nice relaxing day off... WFT!!!!
Posted 14 years agoSo you're lying there in bed, enjoying a relaxing day off. When you hear this odd low rumble. Then you fell this odd back and forth rolling motion. You notice that the stack of boxes next to your bed are rocking back and forth. This experence lasts for about 3 seconds, maybe 4. You ask yourself if this was real, or just a dream. Being a nerd, you instantly hop on the computer, and look up the USGS. You find no information about an earthquake. Could you have been dreaming the whole thing? You check their twitter feed, and BOOM; a 5.9 earthquake pops up. Woot I was right. Strange I was able to feel it a few hundred miles away, but there are reports popping up from much farther away than me. No damage, but I am experencing a cell phone issue. Many of my texts are not sending due to Network outage, and I have had calls not go through due to "Busy signal".
Update: The stupidity of the human race.
Posted 14 years ago Well now its been 5 days since the issue at work. And I guess there is nothing else important going on within 50 miles. Because my work has been; on the front page of the local newspaper, on tv, on the radio, and who knows where else, that I have not noticed. The man that was arrested, was a Police officer, and the internal affairs department, for his station has been both to my work, and to the state police that processed the arrest. He will be lucky if he is not fired.
His loyalty to his 4 footed friend not withstanding, this situation is truly sad. The man, and his wife, for the sake of impatience, and useless anger, have now put they're very future at risk. May all who read this, learn something, as I have, and not give in to bouts of rash judgement. How expensive has their dog become? If they had acted like mature adults, it would have cost them about $32.00.

Another bad day at doggie daycare.
Posted 14 years agoNothing as thrilling as retards getting arrested, but far more unpleasent. My co-worker's foster dog, a 10 year old, black german sheppard suffered a catastrophic bloat. In less than 50 minutes she went from normal, to deceased. I have seen dogs bloat, but never that quickly. My poor co-worker was driving her to emergency surgery, but the poor pooch didn't make it there in time. Her remains will be cremated, and her ashes returned to her foster mom.

Posted 14 years agoWell we had some excitement at the shelter last night. We had gotten a large yellow lab in stray, during day shift. The owners showed up about 6 PM, and after they refused to provide proper paperwork they tried to take the dog without permission. We locked the dog in the office, and told them to bring the necessary paperwork, and then we would release the dog. They called the police on us, not a smart move. The woman called her husband to come with the paperwork, which he did, although he did not have a valid dog licence. Before we were able to look over the paperwork the man declared that we had 3 seconds to open the door, or he was gonna kick it in. The police were arriving at the same time. As he reached the count of 3, the office girl cracked open the door thinking it was I, knocking to get in, and the man forced his way past her and tried to take the dog by force. The police stopped him at the door, and an argument ensued. The police did manage to get the man to calm down, but I was sure that guy was gonna punch the cop. We looked over the paperwork, and gave them a cost for the licence fee, and board for the dog. The police asked if we wished to press charges, and it was decided that we would. So the man, and his wife were taken away by the state police, under arrest. And they were forced to leave the dog in our care for another night. On top of all that, the first of two trucks, they drove to pick the dog up, had no licence plate, and the police made them leave it at the shelter to be towed away. That is one expensive dog now.
I now have a head!
Posted 14 years agoI have now brought home the awesome headpiece that Ormspryde, made for me, in near record time I might add. I am so ready for Anthrocon. After 7 years in a row going to Anthrocon without a fursuit, I will be FLUFFY. I will be getting pictures of myself wearing both the head, and tail soon.
A little head.
Posted 14 years agoI got to try on the head for the Malamute partial, that the awesomely awesome, http://www.furaffinity.net/user/ormspryde/ is makeing for me. Without taking any measurements, the head was an almost perfect fit. It only needs some minor adjustments to the vision, and hopfully a slight loosening of the neck, and it will be perfect. Pictures of the head can be seen in Ormspryde's gallery.
Ouch damnit.
Posted 14 years agoFor those of you who don't know I am an avid mountain biker. And normally I do pretty well at keeping the bike between mother earth, and myself. Yesterday however, I communed with mother earth by force, AKA I did a flying superman impression over the handle bars of my bike. It was simple really, I was shooting up a small narrow uphill path. I was carrying plenty of speed to clear a couple of tree roots at the top. However; when I hit the first root, I was popped into a front wheelie, which landed most unfortunitly directly behind the second root. My bicycle stopped, I didn't. Over the bike I flew as pretty as an eagle in flight. I did an amazing flying push-up upon landing, saving my face from blood, and scarring. Due to the special pedals, and shoes, that mountain bikers wear to stay connected with the bike over normal rough terrain, the bicycle followed me over the root, and landed atop of my prone form. No serious injury, or damage to myself, or the bike was incured. However, I have a few briuses, and a very sore shoulder to endure for a few days.
Not helping the situation, one of the small, young hound dogs at work, decided to play chicken with my leg, and we both lost when he t-boned the left side of my knee cap, and wrapped around my leg as if it were a telephone pole. I was uninjured, just in pain, he was knocked a tad loopy in the head for a minute, but was fine. In total today I have two slightly sore knees, a bruised shin, and a sore right shoulder.
Tomorrow I am biking the rail trail, a cinder trail with no rocks, roots or hills.

Wow what a difference!
Posted 14 years agoI have been having some computer issues lately. And I wasn't sure if it was a power supply problem, or the mother board. So I just put in a new 700 watt Corsair power supply, and BOOM; my PC runns faster than it has in almost a year, when I upgraded it.. I am not 100% sure this will fix the problem I was originaly having, but it sure is a good sign.
