General | Posted 15 years agoI am losing an old friend. We have spent many wonderful hours togather, and it will be sorely missed. An E74 error now stands between us, and there is no hope in sight. And the towel trick is only a temporary fix. So goodbye old friend, untill I can pull 200.00 dollars plus tax out of my ass, we shall be apart. But fear not, as one day I shall learn to love another.

General | Posted 15 years agoTwo constants in the universe. Of which my grandfather, due to one, is no longer subject to the other. At about 6pm EDT, my grandfather passed, under heavy medication, into the next realm. He had been suffering from Altzhiemers for 7 years. He was 85 years of age and one month away from his birthday. He joins his wife, who passed in December of 2007. May he rest in peace. P.S. he was a heavy beer drinker, and would have loved it if everyone out there would tilt back a brew in his honor. Goodbye Curvin, you will be missed.

General | Posted 15 years agoWhile at Anthrocon, an awesome idea run into my brain, and scrambled my wits. What if every fursuiter had their own, Mini-me. And so the name calling began. Meme rules are simple, name any fursuit, and then name their chibi sidekick. The name should reflect their lack of size, and be related to the name of the original fursuit.

General | Posted 15 years agoThe following is a story written by my half brother, Thomas, concerning the bullshit my family is going through.
"Dear Sirs,
I'm writing on behalf of my family, especially my mother Helen. For the past 6 years my parents, and I have volunteered our time, and sanity to care for my elderly grandparents. In my senior year of high school, we sacrificed my childhood home of 16 years, which was nearly paid off to combine households, and become full time caregivers.
My grandfather is an 85 year old Alzheimer's patient, a Navy veteran, and a blue collar man, who worked hard his whole life for everything he had. For the past 4 years he has been completely unable to care for himself; he is incontinent, cannot bathe himself, or change his own clothing.
Earlier this year my estranged aunt Susan, and her husband whom we haven't seen in over a year filed suit in civil court claiming he didn't need such care, and could fend for himself. We were accused of "absconding" with his estate, and my mother was grilled on the stand for hours in court over finances. Never once was my grandfather's care brought up.
Despite that, the court has placed his finances, and our future in the hands of a mediator who has never been in our shoes. My mother's power of attorney was taken away. We're going to lose our house, and will have to sell everything we own just to survive. We're being forced to choose between my grandfather's care and our mortgage payment.
We don't know who to turn to. Can you help my grandfather, and us?"

General | Posted 16 years agoFor the first time EVER, I can't get to work. There litterally is no road. I drive a Ford Ranger XLT 4X4, and it can't get through the snow cause it is too deep. So hey a free snow day!
