This post might be a little jumbled because I'm going through a whole mess of emotions right now but the basics of the situation is there is this dog at a kill shelter who only has until the 26th to be adopted. This baby is absolutely adorable and would be the perfect fit for me. I suffer from a lot of mental health issues (such as depression and anxiety) that I know taking care of an animal and receiving that unconditional love and affection would help, as well as being more active with having to take her for walks and playtime. Monthly expenses can be taken care of now that I'm more stable in my home, such as food and vet bills, what I need help with is the initial cost of adoption fees, spay and neutering + rabies shot expenses, and apartment fees.

I suffered a really bad cut on my foot that put me back on art the past couple of days. Hopefully it heals fine and I wont need to go to the doctor (pray for me haha) but other than that I'm feeling better when it comes to being sick and migraines! :D So I can actually look at the screen when I draw lol. I got some blue light canceling glasses and I think they've helped a lot! I just need to upgrade to blue light canceling reading glasses and it'd be set!
As for some questions I had for you guys!

Hurricane Dorian has come and gone and thankfully everything is okay in my area! I'm getting right back to work and will hopefully be getting things done quickly! Thank you all so much for your patience and understanding!

I've been more concerned with prepping for the incoming hurricane and making sure my family is going to be okay, rather than finishing art. I am still drawing when I am taking a break from prepping and cleaning, but things are going to be a lot slower. Hopefully, after this week, everything will be okay and I'll get back to my normal schedule. I hope you guys understand!

Stressing out bc of threat of inclement weather and we have literally no food and aren't prepared in any way

Just want to make a little bit of a vent journal about some stuff because I don't know where else to let this all out, and I feel like some of these things do affect the people that follow me here.
I've been feeling like a bad artist lately, especially when it comes to commission work,
I haven't been getting work done at the pace I'd like, haven't been meeting deadlines I've set for myself and every day that I haven't gotten art done for someone, I feel like I'm disappointing the people who support me.
Since moving, my roommate's job situation has been rocky, and we haven't been eating properly, because we're afraid of spending money on food because we don't know if we'll even make rent. I'm stressed, I haven't been sleeping properly and I have been getting extremely sick. I've been letting this affect my quality of work and I feel disappointed in myself and ashamed. I feel like I can't let myself have a break, because I need to constantly be working to make rent, and when I do let myself have a breather, working from home and having no dedicated work space yet makes me feel like the work mode is always on and I can't properly rest.
I'm trying by best to fix things so I can get back onf schedule and get back to the quality of work I personally feel like I should be reaching. I don't know if any of this makes sense, but tldr; I'm so tired and its affecting my work and I'm so sorry.

I have a lot of favorite aesthetics, but I find when I go to make more adopts I reach for the same few a lot. What are your guys' favorite aesthetics? Also open to looking at some pinterest boards you love for inspo!

I really really hate that I have to keep making journals like this but this is dire.
My 21st birthday is on September 1st! Unfortunately, rent is also due on that day, and so far it's not looking so good. My roommate's work has been ghosting him out of nowhere so I, as a free lance artist, have made more money than someone who is supposed to have a "standard job" which you can imagine isnt very much. We luckily have most of the utilities paid, but we need to pay rent, and my roommate has a car payment that he can not afford. We also have no money to buy food for ourselves, as we are too worried about rent to buy proper groceries. I am trying my best, but I cannot do all of it on my own, and what I am tackling already is running me into the ground. I know some people will tell me to get a "real" job, but I have been applying to everything I can in the area, and those who have been job hunting before will know that it isn't an instant thing (trust me I really wish it were) I'd really like to spend my 21st birthday knowing that I won't be evicted from a place we just moved to.

I've been very sick and even getting out of bed has been hard these past couple of days. Trying to take care of myself so I con't end up getting sicker but I have been still working on coms, its just been slow.

sorry things have been slow! I've been trying to get my life together since moving (gotta get an id, phone, job ect) so I've either been out of the house a lot or doing a lot of cleaning and organizing
I've barely even been talking to my friends tbh I tend to isolate myself when overwhelmed

Hey guys
Just a Journal to remind everyone, especially those who struggle with mental or physical illnesses, to keep going. I've been struggling with very intense mental illness almost my whole life, and I just got over a bad ptsd episode tonight, but I keep reminding myself how far I've come and of the person I want to become. It's still hard, but it's been easier to deal with, and there's so much good I wouldn't have done if I gave up earlier. Love you all and I'm here if you need someone to listen or a shoulder to lean on.

I desperately need a peacock fursona to go along with my baku, and I will probably design one myself some time, but I was curious to see if anyone had any peacock characters for sale or trade or perhaps would like to do a custom!
