The painful realization of Duality
General | Posted 15 years agoEveryone knows how there's at least two sides to everything. Here's Duality from my end of life.
The Air Force took everything from me. Gave me nothing. Now I've worked my way up to comfortable living in a furnished dormitory (apartment, basically) with a roommate.
Not always the best of things, ensuing arguments, and privacy issues, because my schedule is made for me by the air force.... yeah.... normal adult life. I'm here at home, now, marveling at what it is I used to have.... and crying so hard inside, because I can never have but a single taste of it every now and again. I know I made the right choice, but what I left behind was the most important thing I've ever known: Friends. And not only that... Here... home.... it's the only place I've ever had any friends. Back in Tech Training, I felt so alienated and alone, because I couldn't find anyone who was really my friend. All I ever found was someone that I could talk to for maybe two days. Then the work week came, and it turned out they were in a different squadron. They'd never keep in touch. That's why I was so thankful when I got my second roommate (the first had moved in with a friend). I found out that he and I could/did spend countless hours of the night talking about some of the most personal and secret things we knew. Finally... someone I can talk to in order to let my emotions calm.
And now... I'm never gonna see him again. Training's over. He's going somewhere else. So... Another possible great friendship, right down the toilet. Nothing I can do.
On the good side, there were things I did there that I had never done until then, and they were great. Maybe reckless, stupid, absolutely horrendous things, but hey, I'm finally in the stage of my life were I can experiment with anything I want, because for once in my life, no one's here to stop me. I've done a few of the things I always wanted to try, to see what the hype was. Some were bogus, some weren't. Live and learn, so I will. Now I'm home, and I've been seeing everyone and catching up and doing what I used to. Loving the fact that I can have what I always did, just for one more week. Hating that it's at its end.
I don't want to go back. -sigh- but I'm better than that. I'm an adult, right? so I'm gonna keep playing the game, as I always have, and inside I can remember that no matter what goes on amongst the world and my job, it changes nothing within me, and each night, when I get to my room, I can make sure to keep on the path I chose.

General | Posted 16 years agoSo the world has literally turned upside down on me now. my ex has suddenly changed her mind and decided to try a friendship with me.
Fuckin' wonderful... Just when I finally, truly moved on, this happens. I thought I could be done with this. I was... and now she comes running back, telling me this and that, and that she's not doing well. Me... being the person I am, I was perfectly willing to accept it. But now? are you damn kidding me? -sigh- now I'm in a lose-lose situation, because if this friendship grows, my feelings will grow back, and I'll be left here to sink in them while she goes about life with another man! GOD.... and on the other hand, if I just toss her ass out and be done with it... I can't. I could never do that. I've been torn apart enough. too much pain has resulted from what happened for me to cause myself more grief. Tossing her off and leaving it be would hurt her, and in turn hurt me.
so what the fuck am I supposed to do?! I can't just sit here and let my emotions be played like a fucking violin! ...and yet I can't protect myself, because of a guilty conscience.
Wasn't it enough punishment to lose the love of my life?! and now my mistake comes back for another round.
hmph... I have no choice but to let things play out from here, and try to get things to go well between her and I.
Other than that, I'm making my way slowly, doing better for myself in life. Not much to say on that.

General | Posted 16 years agoI just played Beer Pong for the first time last night. I lost.
I haven't slept at all... kept awake with what seems a dim, but infinite energy, and an emotionless mind. I feel calm, quiet, lost inside of thoughts that have no particular meaning. Nothing makes the time pass. All this, and I only drank... what, maybe one and a half cans total? ugh, it was so nasty. tried eating. tried drinking soda on the side. Nine hours later, I'm still feeling a pressure behind my eyes, and a sort of... numbness. I'm pretty sure all that soda only made things worse.... fuck, I shoulda drank water instead.
It's such an odd feeling. I can feel pain, but I don't react normally. I just want to be surrounded by friends again, so I can be sure nothing goes wrong...
buzzed, drunk, tipsy, I don't care what you call it, I hate it. This isn't who I am, I want myself back.

I talked to her this morning, and she told me about a dream. in it, She was with friends going to a restaurant. She got a call, and went off to answer it. It was me. Somewhere in the conversation, I said "I have to go." Suddenly, I was right in front of her. I then proposed to her. She said I proposed exactly as she wanted me to.
It just... that hit me so hard, to hear her say that...
We're so far apart, and I can't be with her for years. Hearing that makes me want to go to her, but I...I c-can't. I've never felt so horrible as to know that she suffers, too, with me not being there. Knowing that I can't be with her, or give her what she wants, or hug her... or hold her hand in mine.
I just can't... be happy anymore.

If anyone has any ideas, please send a reply with a link leading to the music you want me to play. Just to let you know, I cannot create music. I can only play currently existing music of an intermediate difficulty.
Mostly, I'd like ideas from vidoegame music, but Band music works as well.
