General | Posted 9 years agoSo with FA's Hack and Crash fiasco I ended up changing my password. However, it is not recognizing any of the passwords that I remember. Plus the email I used to create this current account is no longer in use/functional (that's my fault for never updating info).Luckily I was logged onto my account on my phone so I'm still able to update my account via phone ;w;. Oh well, so I'll be switching over to

Rough week
General | Posted 9 years agoI need to vent a bit, sorry guys.
It's been quite a long and rough week. I had been living with one other person in the bunk house that I'm staying in. It was nice, I had my side of the house and they had theirs. Unfortunately that all changed last weekend when three more seasonals moved in. So, originally I was promised my own room when I took the job, but since the other bunk houses were not finished (they are still working on them still), I have to share a room. I thought I'd be cool with it but my brain decided otherwise. My anxiety spiked and insomnia kicked in. Also I discovered that I'm allergic to marijuana smoke or whatever my roommate was smoking in our bathroom (which is attached directly to our room) and had an allergic reaction wooh! Normally I'm pretty cool with people smoking whatever, just not in the room which I am sleeping in. My roomie was supposed to refrain from smoking in the bathroom, but still does it anyways. Luckily she does it earlier in the evening when I'm out surveying, and it mostly airs out before I get home. That's why I'm still sitting in my office, watching webinars waiting for the room to air out haha. I still get a slight reaction but I only have to deal with it for two more nights. Which yay I'm moving into a house! Well renting a room and house/dog sitting for the summer. So this vent ends on a positive note. Art will be posted once FA gets their site up and steady again. I'll be posting another journal with links where to find me in case FA really does kick the bucket.

On the road again
General | Posted 9 years agoIt's been a wild past couple of weeks. Between finishing up and training a new staff member at my last job, to visiting places I won't see for awhile, to packing, time was jammed packed to the rim for things to get done.
I left Wednesday for my new job. Wednesday I drove 13hrs, yesterday I drove 10-11 hrs. Still got 8-10 hours to go but this last stretch is through some of my favorite landscapes to drive through. Today I'm taking a "recharge" day and staying with my good friends

northwestspiritwolf will be meeting up with us as well, which was very awesome to hear and excited to see her again.

General | Posted 10 years agoHey all, just wanted to pop in to say hi and to post an update journal.
It's been super busy for me ever since the holiday season ended. I don't really have much free time for myself. Started volunteering a lot (which I love very much to do) at two environment/nature organizations and ended up getting offered a temp job at one of those places until I go back to my spring/summer job. They've been training me a bunch in the last few weeks in administrative and more animal husbandry techniques/duties.
In preparation for my summer job and for the pack test in the spring, I've been going to the gym to train. I passed the pack test last year but wasn't that prepared since it was a last minute thing. The pack test is needed if you want to maintain your red-card/to be a certified type-II wildland firefighter. Although my main job is a botany and wildlife tech, if a fire is on district I can still work in the area as well as be an auxiliary fire fighter on the line to hold the line. To pass the test you have to complete 3 miles in under 45mins with 45lbs (which is almost half my weight lol) on your back. You can't run or your disqualified, so it's a brisk speed walk and good pacing.
I'm probably not going to be as active on FA as I've been in the past. Sadly, this site has started to irk me. I can't pin-point the reason to one thing, so I'm taking a bit of a break from the site until the spring. I'll pop in once and a while to post things I owe, still slowly working on those haha.
I've also started playing Guild Wars 2 again as well as started playing FFXIV: A Realm reborn. If anyone wants to run dungeons with me or friend me on either you can comment or note me with your username. I'm not at a high level in FFXIV since I don't play often (both games are great stress relievers for me), but I main Paladin and Conjurer(slowly working towards becoming a white mage).
Heard a rumor that Rain Furrest is moving location to Spokane. It's a bit disappointing since it's more expensive sometimes to fly there, not to mention the limited flights into that airport, and the circumstances revolving around the whole move is also disappointing, but the silver lining in the situation is that depending where I end up it might be cheaper for me to road trip it with friends to con next year, so that's a major plus :D.
I'm hoping to move back to Montana, either in the spring or late fall. I miss my home and my friends. "The mountains are calling, and I must go." - JM
That's really about it, hope winter is treating you all alright. Best wishes to you all. ~ <3

Just got done with a 2k+ mile drive back to my folks place for the winter. My field season has ended so I'm hibernating until spring when my job starts again. Oregon was so much fun and I got to see and handle so many adorable flying squirrels and other small mammals. Great experience but dang nature can be brutal.
I'll be volunteering a lot in the next three months of downtime, but I will also have some free time. Hoping to practice a lot of art techniques for improvement, work on my Arctic fursuit a bit more, and I'm hoping to start posting fursuit dance videos dancing as Arctic! I miss dancing so much, especially the folks in the dance troop I was part of, as well as dancing in drag shows. Dancing is a great way to blow off steam and be creative by expressing your emotions with your body. So that's what I'll be up too in the next few months. What are your thoughts on the dance vids yay or nay? If yay, I'd love some suggestions for music to dance too. :3
Still working on art pieces for folks. Everything should be done and posted by the end of the year. In the new year I'm planning to open up for commission and some music inspired YCHs.
Wanted to also say hello and thank you to the many new watchers I've received over the past few weeks, I really do appreciate it. <3

,woo test n' stuff! But damn is it lonely here. So I was wondering what's the most strangest thing you've seen in the past week?
This week I saw a get well balloon attached to a dead dear on the side of the road, three small chicken coops attached to the roof of a hippy school bus, and lastly I saw a 6-work-horse team attached to a covered wagon, traveling down the highway, with all sides painted with the words "Jesus Saves". Sorry for my bad grammar, just exaughsted. X)
[update] got discharged late in the night, but everything is ok. No appendicitis, just a bad infection. Got a lot of saline, antibiotics, and pain killers pumped through my system through an IV. I'm just really glad I didn't have to get any kind of surgery, that could have ended my employeement for the remaining trapping season ;-;

Life has been busy on my end, can't believe it's already November! This job has been a great experience so far, getting to handle cute small mammals (flying squirrels are so adorable and super soft), and meeting some awesome people. Plus I'm able to hang out with one of my best friends from college who lives not to far away from the station that I'm temporarily in. Which has been a big help dealing with some personal issues.
Some of you may not have known, cause I got a big influx of watchers recently, my grandmother passed away over the summer. She was a big supporter and a great influence on my life, as the holidays are drawing closer, the depression is slowly coming back. In all honesty, I was an internal wreck throughout the summer, it wasn't until RF that finally kicked me back on the happy train again. Now I feel like I'm slipping back. But, I've been doing some self reflection and have decided to do some traveling over my off season. Still not sure where I'll be going, but it is something I need to do.
Anyways, enough of my ramblings and onto some updates.
The raffle winner pictures are still being worked on. I'm really liking how they're coming along and it's been a great learning experience!

Week 1 update
General | Posted 10 years agoHowdy all! Life in the woods has been busy. Basically hit the ground running with work, and quite litereally too. Thought I was in shape before coming out here for the job, but the terrain proved me wrong. The first two days beat me up pretty good. I'm covered all over in bruises and cuts from getting tangled in vine maple and slipping n' tripping on everything. On my first day I was cloths-lined by a branch when the soil beneath my feet gave out and slip'n slid down the slope to the branch. I couldn't help but laugh when it happened cause it was just like a cartoon or something of the sort. But with all things, the more you do it and not give up, the better and stronger you get. :)
Anyways enough of my ramblings , onto the fun par of the journal; Free Art!

General | Posted 10 years agoYup, I got the job in Oregon! I'll be a research assistant with one of the universities over there for a few months trapping small mammals. I start Monday and my adventure back to Oregon starts tomorrow after work. A very long drive ahead. :,D
I'll be sparse on FA for a while since the first station I'm reporting has no cell service (except if you drive to the top of one mountain) and no internet. The small mammals team will be stationed there for a month then we're moving on to another location that is way more populated. Tomorrow if I get to the first stopping point at a decent hour I'll post some art that I've been meaning to post for sometime.
Anyone got any suggestions for music? Always interested in hearing different things so feel free to share some of your favorite music!
