Starting Uneven dance remix by ABSRDST
General | Posted a year agoHey everyone, new music! ABSRDST, a longtime favorite furry musician of mine, and also my partner now, has done a remix of Starting Uneven!
We worked on finishing it together! I learned a lot about producing dance-y pop music, and I think we wound up with something very special.
All the new ideas are Jacky's (that's ABSRDST) except for the mostly one-note synth line you hear at the end. aka the best part JK LOL. Also she made the dope patch for it
EXCLUSIVE TO FA INSIGHT/SPOILERS! SPOILERS! SPOILERS!: there is a constructed scene where Knuckles rips a gnarly guitar line, and Tails just can't control himself. He throws himself at Knuckles, and Knuckles screams TAILS, GET OFF! Oh boy, I hope I see someone just figuring that out on their own.
Also I'll only say this here, Mortis Jackrabbit did some vocals for the original version that's on the album Swell Up Sweetly, and Jacky kept and played around with them for this version. I hope fellow Seatheads will agree that the backwards vox ending is such classic car seat magic, it gives me chills.

Debut album out this Friday March 5th
General | Posted 5 years agoThe first Super Powered Yaks album is called Swell Up Sweetly and it's out everywhere March 5th.
When I was a kid my cousins would come up from NY once a year to visit. It was the four of us playing downstairs and the adults talking upstairs. We would play this game where we spied on the adults. But we couldn’t give away what we were actually doing so we would say “let’s play Super Powered Yaks”. SPY, get it? For me the name symbolizes the imagination and mischief of my childhood, which I’ve been trying to bring back to my adult life through music these days.
There will be beautiful CDs and cassettes offered here: superpoweredyaks.bandcamp.com when Bandcamp Friday starts very early that morning.

Solo album on the way!
General | Posted 5 years agoI've entered the solo music creation world and it's been lovely. I feel really good about what I'm writing and I'm just waiting on a couple paychecks to buy the rest of the recording equipment. I think by end of summer I could easily have a first album out
If you like car seat headrest, I've made too much pasta (Scurrow), XTC, and 90's alt like the Pumpkins I think you'll really what I have coming.
Here's some words that will appear on the album most likely:
Fat covers the stairs tension taut strings made it another day are you dumb or are you clever chewed through the charger chloroform cloth in hand
Pretty cool words yea? Thematically it's gonna be furry adjacent (not unlike csh)
Also very close to starting to assist Scurrow with his 2nd album (in some format)

ANE '20 show/singles on the way
General | Posted 6 years agoFull Color is in the studio recording first 2 singles. They should be up on streaming soon. It's been a slow (and maybe costly) process but we're pretty happy with the results! Opening for 1 trait danger at ANE '20. Still crazy to think....could be an amazing con, I'm hopeful!

Thoughts
General | Posted 6 years agoFigured I should make one of these. Let's see, band stuff is in a weird spot, hope to get a singer nailed down soon. I should really see Endgame, might see it by myself tbh, I've never done the theatre alone thing before. Newly single, having some physical fun with that. Weather has been lousy, c'mon weather. I really am rambling here. Might be drumming for a certain rabid raccoon friend at AC, we'll see. oh yeah XTC XTC XTC XTC XTC is LIFE. Favorite music discovery in years. Somewhat related, I should stop trying to make famous musicians that I've never met into father figures for myself, huh. Ah well. Guess that's it for now. Cheers, -Para
