Posted 11 years agoSo, I just had to post this conversation I had with a team leader at work the other day. It is sad that this is the quality of people on production at my work.
Team Leader: Can I ask you a quick question?
Me: Sure.
Team Leader: How do I turn-on an ocelot?
Me: I would suggest scratching behind its ear, nipping at its neck fur and purring softly.
Team Leader: What are you talking about?
Me: Ocelots. I must caution you against any mating attempts with large cats though.
Team Leader: What? No! I just want to turn-on the ocelot on my machine.
Me: If there's an ocelot on your machine, you should leave it alone.
Team Leader: I can't. The message on the machine says that I need to turn-on the ocelot.
Me: I highly doubt that. It is probably telling you to turn-on the oscillator.
Team Leader: No, I'm sure it says ocelot.
Me: Do me a favour and turn-on the switch on the side of the machine labelled 'oscillator' and I'm sure the fault will clear.

***10 minutes later***

Finally in my new den
Posted 11 years agoAfter an insanely busy weekend, I am officially living in my new den. There are still some boxes at the old place to be moved, but all of the most important, largest and heaviest things have been relocated to the new place. (Yes, this includes a full car load of fursuits).
Special thanks to prplhaze and bt-armistice. You guys were amazing this past weekend. Thank you so much for your assistance in the move and especially for coming out from Kingston just to help.
I should have internet at the new place in the next day or two; so I will be able to stay in touch better as I slowly put everything away and reduce the current chaos of 'stuff' in the house. As much of a disaster as it appears at the moment, this place definitely feels like home already.

My house...in the middle of my street...
Posted 11 years agoAfter many years of saving and more than a few days without sleep, it has finally happened. Less than 4 hours ago I officially became a home owner! It's nothing fancy, but it's a very nice townhouse (which seems to be the only thing other than condos for under $500,000 in this area) and it wonderfully suits my needs. Unfortunately, I really only had time to go and change the locks before having to get ready for work tonight. *Grumbles* Tomorrow the fun begins as I start to clean and prep the house before slowly moving in. It's going to be a long night at work while I keep thinking of the things I need to do for the new place.

Posted 11 years agoLast month a group of local furries, including myself, were involved in the filming of the new music video for the talented Canadian musician Megan Lane. Yesterday the music video was released and I think it turned-out quite well.
You can see my SoulWolf fursuit in many parts of the video and Spirrow is even in it for a brief second. It was a very long and hot day of filming, but I think it was all worth it in the end and I hope my furry companions in the video agree.

Posted 12 years agoArrived home from MFF yesterday. Exhausted and a bit ill with a lot of things do do today before going back to work tomorrow. I had a great time with friends old and new. I'll post a more detailed report in the next day or two when I have more free time.

Home From FurFright XI
Posted 12 years agoAfter 9 hours on the road, I'm home from FurFright. As always, I had a blast! As always, I didn't have nearly enough time to spend with friends I haven't seen in a while or enough time to make more than a few new friends.
Rooming with gryphan prplhaze bt-armistice and 
myenuk was fun, as usual.
I'm glad I got to spend some time with
fionnadh on Saturday night, romping in suit around the con, it was a blast. Sorry I didn't have time to meet-up with you again later, time just got away from me this weekend!
Unfortunately, I have some repairs to make on my fursuit...a loose ear, a damaged sandal and a couple of broken claws. Two repairs will be fairly simple once I have time to do them, but I will have to take a close look at the claws and see what I can do about them.
I have a few photos and videos to sort through/edit before I can upload them, but that may take a couple of days before I have the time to do that. For now, it's back to work and my 'normal' life tonight.
Thanks to everyone at FurFright; staff, volunteers and all attendees for making this a wonderful experience.

An unexpected turn of events
Posted 12 years agoSo, earlier this year I was planning to go to MFF in November, but plans for a room share fell apart over the summer and I assumed that I would have to wait until next year to have my first trip to this convention. That changed just the other week. A couple of friends from overseas, who I met for the first time at Furnal Equinox in March, offered me space in their room! So, now my flight is booked and I've pre-registered, so I WILL be attending this year!

Posted 12 years agoSo, I was renewing my license plate sticker today at the local Service Ontario office and the lady behind the counter commented that I have the best license plate she's seen and then asked if I was a furry. Turns out that she has been considering getting involved in the furry community for a while now. Goes to show that there are more furries out there than we think!

Posted 13 years agoMy time off was just confirmed today for Furnal Equinox and Fur Fright this year. I'm already registered for both and have the cash set aside, so now all I have to do is wait. :) I'm hoping that I will be able to get to What The Fur as well this year, but that will depend on my work schedule and finances.
