0phanim's Commission Terms

Hi! Thanks for taking a look at my commission terms! These are in place less to police your options as a commissioner and more to make the process easier on you and I both! That being said, please try to read through this thoroughly if you're interested in ordering something from me! The terms will include everything from general policy to subject matter availability to payment and refund. Don't be afraid of how formally I write; university papers have done this to me. Please feel free to comment or note me in the event you have more questions before ordering art!

General

◦ Commission status on my profile will update as soon as, if ever, it changes.
◦ Your commission's progress can be tracked with the trello link in my bio.
◦ I check furaffinity every day. Comments and notes on here are but sufficient methods of contacting me.
◦ When you commission work from me the art will be posted on furaffinity in a lower resolution; you will be provided with a link to the full size image.
◦ YCH dimensions vary. If you're curious about what size the full res of the image you're looking at is, just ask
◦ Commission dimensions vary. I start work on a 4kx4k pixel canvas, and work from there.
◦ If you have desired dimensions in mind, let me know and I can work to accommodate that.

Artist and Customer Policy

◦ I have the right to refuse any commissions under any pretense.
◦ I have the right to use my art how I'd like, even if it is a drawing of your character. This includes posting art on furaffinity or elsewhere. If you've requested this not be posted on furaffinity beforehand, this rule does not apply.
◦ I have the responsibility to update you as I work. If the commission is going to take an extended amount of time, it is my job to inform you, and your right to know.

◦ You must be available for contact via furaffinity. After the initial ordering process I like to show updated progress if I have any questions or before I complete the work. If you never reply, I can never finish your art!
◦ You must provide sufficient references of your character. This means at least a frontal view with colours. If you have no means of doing this or if I'm producing the first reference of your character this rule does not apply, but please be ready to work with me to iron out the details, otherwise give me artistic liberty!
◦ You may repost my work for you once it has been completed. You are allowed to make alterations but please keep the watermark, or credit me sufficiently.
◦ You may not remove my signature/watermark from the image, or claim my work as your own. This should go without saying.
◦ You may not use my work commercially or for profit.
◦ You have the responsibility to be understanding of the time and effort that goes into commissions. This is not my day job, and I work around my normal schedule. Please don't hesitate to ask time estimates upon ordering, but keep in mind they will vary based on complexity and my personal life. It is your responsibility to keep this in mind while I work. Due dates may be given, with reason.
◦ You have the right to send me a message if you are curious about your commissions state of completion!

Payment
◦ Paypal only.
◦ USD only. Some exceptions will be made for CAD.
◦ No cent amounts will be charged. If by math your commission isn't round dollars, the charge is rounded down to the nearest dollar.
◦ No cent amounts will be charged. If by math your discount isn't round dollars, the discount is rounded up to the nearest dollar.
◦ Payment is preferred upfront.
◦ YCH commissions are to be paid upfront.
◦ Simple commissions are to be paid 50% downpayment, or full, upfront.
◦ Complex commissions are to be paid 50% downpayment, or full, upfront or after a rough sketch is available.

Discounts (updated 4/12)
◦ A 5% Discount is given to return customers of any commission type.
◦ A 10% Discount is given to return customers after that.
◦ A 15% Discount is given to return customers every purchase after.
◦ A 10% Discount may be given to full commissions if the character is in a simple enough pose and/or has a simple design. Feel free to ask about this, if I don't mention it in a quote but you think you may be eligible.
◦ A 20% Discount is given on your current/next purchase if you refer a friend who makes a purchase themself and mentions you by furaffinity username.
◦ Discounts in exchange for art, or full art trades can be discussed over note.

Edits and Alterations

◦ Before the work is finished I will send you a preview to make sure I have rendered the character(s) correctly.
◦ Edits and alterations are available at any point in the period I am working on the art. Do not hesitate to message me if you remember something important.
◦ Major edits and alterations may be subject to a small fee for my time; these are classified at my discretion.
◦ If you wish to have frequent updated previews sent to you, just ask.

Refund

◦ If I am unable to start or complete your commission, you will receive full refund.
◦ If you would like to cancel your order and I have not yet begun linework, you will receive full refund.
◦ If you would like to cancel your order and I have completed up to half of the linework, you will receive a 50% refund.
◦ If you would like to cancel your order and I have completed the linework or further, you will receive no refund. The work I have completed to that point is available to you if you still want it.
◦ All artwork is non-refundable after complete
