Starting Again!! ^w^

Haiii~! If you're reading this, then welcome to my journal! I don't know what brought you here, and I'm not exactly sure how these work, but I figured this could be a fun lil way to keep track of updates and write out all my silly thoughts :3
When it comes to drawing art—whether it be traditional or digital—I'm still relatively new. I used to be drawing constantly when I was in middle school, and I ended up filling two sketchbooks entirely. Unfortunately, it was nothing of much interest: just stickmen comics and simple sketches of video game characters that I liked (I was like twelve years old, so I guess that's reasonable). To this day, I still remember a particular drawing that I made where I recreated someone's fanart of Asriel from Undertale. I was really proud of that piece when I made it, and it would remain my best artwork for quite a few years...
By the time I reached high school, I had almost completely stopped doing art. The most fun I was having was from playing video games and making YouTube videos; as a hobby, drawing just didn't give me the same satisfaction anymore. However, my love for doing art would soon be revived thanks to my feelings for my best friend in the whole world, Lak~
I met Lak when I was in middle school, but we didn't become such close friends until the end of high school. Despite her also being an artist, she's quite different from me in a number of ways. For one, not only can she do traditional art, but she uses a screen tablet to do digital art as well; her art has always been so impressive to me, and most of it is actually from scratch! Besides that though, another major difference is that she has SO. MUCH. PASSION. In a similar manner, she's also been doing art since middle school, but she never stopped like I did... she just kept going, learning more about being an artist and further improving her skills. It's no wonder her artwork feels so incredible nowadays—but anyways, back to me.
The more love I had for Lak and the closer we became, the more I admired her work. Then, the more I admired her work, the more I began questioning my own capabilities. Sure, she was amazing and all, but I started thinking... "Maybe I can do that too?" I knew I wouldn't be able to do it as well as her (again, she has years of practice), but if I really wanna make lovely drawings again, I've gotta start somewhere, and there's no time like the present! After such a long time of not doing art, my brain has come up with so many wonderful dreams and stored them in the back of my mind... and now, I have the motivation to bring these dreams into reality.
So what's this whole journal you're reading? Well, it's just the start of my wild motivation!!
Just yesterday, I posted my first digital artwork. For the record, I finished the drawing itself about two weeks ago, but I didn't think to post it until yesterday. It's pretty simple compared to most kinds of digital art, and it's a lil rough around the edges too; however, being that it's my first time experimenting with turning traditional art into digital, I'm happy with how it turned out, and I'm optimistic that things will only get better from here!
Anyways, I'll stop writing here. This entry has gotten unnecessarily long, and I have lots of silly plans to put forth, so for now... baiii~! <3
