TL;DR More care repairs, very expensive, need to make in the ball park of 2000-2500 USD, plan to try and sell off the rest of the originals I have up and offer commissions to cover the cost.

WHAT HAPPENED

So for those who have caught my small update on Twitter and BlueSky, You will have seen that I have A LOT of car repairs. This is to provide a little more context beyond just the sheet with the written items and quotes.

To keep it brief, I went for a routine oil change and Brakes Plus did their normal courtesy inspection, and found that the rack and pinion assembly and the front struts were leaking and needed to be replaced. They quote me a price for the struts, but were unable to quote out the rack and pinion, so I figured I would call Kia, ask them for a quote, and they wanted to do their own inspection first before I bought the rack and pinion myself just to make sure before doing the work to not have it fix anything.

One inspection later and there is a lot more that they recommend beyond what Brakes Plus originally found. Attached is a picture of everything that Kia wrote down. I did buy my rack and pinion assembly for about 400 cheaper than what they quoted, the front struts were similar to Brakes Plus, but the rest of it I am going to be calling around for.

But in any case, for the most immediate things (what Brakes Plus originally found), I am looking at about 2000-2500 USD but I won't have the final amount until the work is done and taxes are included into all of it, and needless to say, I need to try and make some money, (again. v.v) [Talk about a year from hell]

THE PLAN

So my plan to help make money to cover the cost of it, not really something that I feel is GoFundMe worthy, is a few things.

1. Finish selling the originals that are still available by making them "Best Offer" and not limiting the number of them that people can claim, with discounts if people claim multiple.

2. Sell commissions once I finish the two I am working on an make a very basic pricing guide so I can have more examples and a better idea of how much things should be.

3. Have people 'sponsor' the completion of unfinished sketches at a discount from a normal commission rate, being the harder part is done.

4. (?) Put together an HD art pack and sell it directly like in the good old days before Gumroad and etc (?) I am thinking like 5 dollars, make it super accessible.

If there are other things that might be feasible, let me know, but ultimately, NO ONE should feel like they need to buy anything from me, life just sucks like this sometimes, and I know money this year has been extra tight for a lot of people. PLEASE, take care of yourself first, we all have lives to lead and things to do, and the last thing I want is to cause financial hardship on anyone else for any reason. I am very good at figuring things out when push comes to shove.
