Bengal cats are hybrid cat created from the hybridization of the Asian Leopard Cat and the domestic cat, giving rise to the intergeneric Bengal
(Prionailurus bengalensis bengalensis X Felis catus)
Bengal cats have "wild-looking" markings, such as large spots, rosettes, and a light/white belly, and a body structure reminiscent of the Asian Leopard Cat . The Bengal cat has a desirable "wild" appearance with a gentle domestic cat temperament, provided it is separated by at least three generations from the original crossing between a domestic feline and an ALC. The Bengal Cat has a happy, active, interactive and extremely intelligent personality. The breed is relatively large-boned, shorthaired cats with males averaging from 10 to 15 pounds and females usually smaller. Bengals are a serious handful for any cat owner, and has the mischief of two cats combined.
