Lucid dreaming

I've decided that the best way of getting some furry action is to dream it... so I read up on lucid dreaming.
I'm having some success getting in the habit of reality checks while awake, so the biggest problem currently is dream recall, all the FAQs say to keep a journal, but it would draw the wrong kind of attention in my current real life.
So -- anybody here who practices lucid dreaming and could maybe give some advice on how to get better recall without a journal?
