I suppose I should probably get this out of the way so nobody has any mistaken impressions...

I am a writer. I don't draw any more than the occasional sketch, and I certainly don't pretend that I can make people swoon with stunning images. It's not my cup of tea. I love and respect people who have and nurture that talent, and am more than happy to serve as a critic and offer critiques and pointers to anybody who puts up art, but I don't mix my critic's eye with an artist's pen. No, I write. Poetry, short stories, potential novels, doesn't matter, I write what I feel like writing - and as blatantly arrogant as it sounds, I do a damn good job of it. Writing is my skill and my art. So if you want to watch me, please, keep in mind that I'm not going to be putting up pornographic artwork, or stunning paintings, or any of that unless if it is a commissioned piece. I am a writer, and I intend to keep it that way. So please, if you're watching me, make sure it's for the right reasons.

Now that that's out of the way, hi there! I'm Akiera, or just Aki to my friends~ As stated above, I like writing! I like it a lot, and as such happen to do quite a bit of writing. Shocking correlation there, huh? Well, anyway! I'm 20 years old, and managed to start my first year of college in the Fall of 2010, so hey! The vixen's going places. Yay! There's good and bad to that; plus side is, I'm at college, earning a degree and getting a higher education. Delicious~ Downside is... I kinda don't have as much time to do my own personal writing now that my days are full of classes, homework, and studying. Nature of the beast, sadly, but obviously that hasn't stopped me from continuing to write. I've been trying to take a less sexual approach to my stories lately than I have before... Something to be said for a piece of literature that holds the reader's attention despite the lack of hip-smacking, and as I refine my technique I continue to try and make my stories more and more interesting to the reader!

Now, it should be noted that I don't have a problem covering some controversial stuff in my stories. It's just so much fun to poke at the gray area between right and wrong when it comes to morals, beliefs, other people, current-day segregation... You get the idea. If this is the kind of thing that offends you for any reason, then... too bad, I guess. Just pick and choose your stories so you're not getting the ones that confront big issues upfront, and enjoy the literature for literature's sake.
