I was perusing laptops for school earlier, seeing is perhaps I could get one with a nice touch screen/tablet integration, because you know, that would be neet.
Then I had a random recollection from one ahole from my past : You can't just buy nice things to overcome how sucky you are as an artist.
My realization: My opinions of art and quality were generally shaped by asshats who couldn't draw.
