As of this journal post, it has now been officially 2 years since I stepped into the fandom. Normally I'd be excited or something. But now.......I'm just not that entirely eager.
Not too long ago, thanks to my miscommunication issues, I lost a friend I made here and obliterated a possible friendship by creeping the person out by mistake. I was even labeled a stalker. And that has completely shattered me to pieces. And because of that I've been questioning my role in the furry community. Because a few reminders to people who may not have already known......

A - I am never going to own a fursuit
B - I won't ever step foot into a furry convention
C - Despite my writing dreams, I am not a "content"
creator (streamer, YouTuber, etc)

I'm perfectly content with staying in the shadows. I'm not famous, nor do I have a desire to be. I only hopped onto this train because I wanted a bit of escape from the harsh reality we live in. Plus I've been interested in anthro characters forever now. But from my own experiences these past 2 years, I haven't really......done anything to benefit the entirety of the fandom as a whole. Granted I'm in a good number of furry groups and I've made a ton of good friends, i'm just another brick in the wall so to speak. I'm not a bully, I'm not a troll, and I'm CERTAINLY NOT a stalker. And I'm not going to sugarcoat this when I say that there will be the day where I just leave the fandom and never come back. I have personal reasons for that choice, but I could probably just hop off right now and nobody would notice or care. That's how low In popularity I am (FYI, as mentioned previously I have no desire to be famous).

So.....there's where I'm at right now. This 2nd year in the fandom has definitely been the year where I lost friends. One that was probably for the best given that persons mentality and no desire to get help for. However I am grateful for seeing who my actual friends really are. Here's to hoping year 3 in the fandom is better.
