I'm not really into 'furry fandom/con activities' much...but there are some creative art ideas with anthro animals worth a damn doing.
I'm a fan of the "Get Along Gang" concept...lots of good creative potential that match my sense of humor and straightforward fannish art style. "For all ages" and being faithful to the original concept without too much guilt or contrivance. There was a Yahoo Group and later a current Facebook page that accepted fan art work with the characters that explains why I have so many Gang artwork/gag panels on my page done in the last 20 years. No Rule 34 stuff...period. Absolutely No Graphic Cub or Babyfur Art. Absolutely No Interest.
I also like shrinking people characters, just so the tiny people and any nice big people are the sympathetic heroes. No vore, no abuse, and no graphic violence towards the tiny peeps.
Do I have the skills to draw professionally? Probably not. I'm in no position to critique or give advice on art techniques. I usually respond if the art reaches me on an emotional or sympathetic level or come up with a spur of the moment comment that I would hope would match and agree with the artist's point of view when creating the art. If one does not have a sense of humor...that's freakin' tough, ain't it?
Can I doodle adequately enough to communicate a gag punchline decently? In a proper mood, I don't see why not.
Not too good in drawing pin-ups...would prefer drawing characters doing stuff or reacting with a punch line rather than standing around posing...more creatively satisfying that way personally.
My mature content filter stays on all the time to save my sanity, by the way.
It is what it is. Deal with it.
Cheers!
