I love it when someone decides to proclaim their ignorance by getting all bent out of shape because of my name. Do a little bit of research on the source of C.S. Lewis use of the name Aslan for his famous lion character and you will find....

"The word aslan is Turkish for "lion" and is used as a title for Ottoman/Seljukid and Persian Empire (Turkish) rulers."

When I was 10 I had this crazy head of bright blond curly hair. Our neighbors were a nice family of turkish ex-pats and when I would play with their kids the mother would call me "Little Aslan". This is long before I ever read any of C.S. Lewis books and I doubt my turkish friends had even heard of him. I always liked the name and it stuck as a nickname through my childhood and then was a natural choice when I discovered furry.

So thank you, people who get all high and mighty when they see the name assuming I have a God complex or some other nerfarious scheme in mind and showing your own ignrance to the world.
