Hi all! For the holiday season I’ve decided to offer some themed prompts at a 25% discount from my usual prices. These are for around 5,000 word stories for 75 USD with characters of your choice and the story customized to your liking. I think I will be taking only two slots, and they are first-come first-served, with an estimated turn-around time of three weeks. So they should be done in time for Christmas.

Yule: It is a time for new beginnings, and in that spirit, a Gallic tribe has invited their Germanic neighbors from across the Rhine to celebrate the Winter Solstice with them. There will be much feasting around the customary bonfires tonight as the tribes intermingle. A pair of strangers from the different tribes hit it off, and sneak away into the dark wintery night for some deeper cultural exploration.

Saturnalia: Revelry is in the air in Rome as the city celebrates Saturnalia. People exchange gifts, and masters attend their servants. The chief celebration is the Lectisternium, the public banquet before the Temple of Saturn. Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately) the “King of Saturnalia” has been chosen by lot and is in attendance, and by custom, when he makes an outrageous demand at the feast, it has to be followed!

Christmas: The spirit of charity shines through the bitterest cold at this time of year, even at the height of the Hundred Years War. A French city, besieged by a hungry English army, has agreed to open their doors to feed their former enemies in exchange for a promise to leave after the new year and never return. When a pair of soldiers from the warring sides get too close however, they sneak off to find some privacy within the stone walls of the city’s citadel.
