Oh, hello, hello! Welcome to my little space on this site. I am Baadan, the balukath. Not a lot of people have heard of my kind before, it seems, so I decided to share a bit about my species here. :)

I have worked quite hard with Charem-tsa and Guan-daar to write up a comprehensive description of us balukathi, which can be read here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8188468/ Also of note is a detailed description of my own self, which can be found here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8188551/ I will also be posting up giftart kindly drawn for me from time to time. I myself am not an artist, however. It's somewhat difficult to attempt that when you happen to be a quadruped...not to mention, well...

For a summary about myself and my species... Hmm. I'm nothing too amazing, really. Just a big, lazy lug with a shameless penchant for overeating and an unyielding amount of loyalty for those I consider my friends. ...I'm a bit fat, you could say. But I'm not one to be underestimated in battle either; I don't seek out trouble, but I'm certainly strong enough to quell it - we balukath have a number of ways to defend ourselves. My species are often mistaken for dragons, but we are in fact mammals. I'm notably intelligent for my kind, though I still am quite feral at times. Like when I get hungry... *toothy grin* Oh, perhaps most notable of all is my status as Guan-daar's mount. My kind are big and strong, well-suited for carrying passengers and supplies; this is scoffed at by some balukath as a very demeaning thing to do, but I hold my position with the utmost pride. :) I also happen to be a bit 'impaired'...being blind as I am. Don't fret too much over it, though - I get along quite well with my ears and nose guiding the way.

We balukathi aren't 'dumb beasts'...at least, we used to be smarter. We once had quite an established and respected civilization, though something...happened. Nobody is really sure what occurred; no records of the event, or events, exist. But our cities fell, and we became rather-nomadic desert-dwellers. This certainly kicked our more instinctual traits into overdrive, and we sort of lost ourselves to that. Necessary for survival, I suppose. But it has made many to see us as simple animals, which is a bit of a shame, if half-true; we have a lot of potential that we don't tap into these days...

I'm always willing to answer a good question or two as well, if the provided information doesn't sate one's curiosity enough. *waves his tail in a slow, heavy wag*
