YIFF the cook!
1. What was your favorite food as a kid?
Either spaghetti, or mom-mom's home made macaroni & cheese.
2. What was the first food you learned how to cook from a package?
Macaroni & cheese.
3. What was the first food you learned how to cook from scratch?
Burgers.
4. How did you discover that you had a "passion" for cooking?
I just always wanted to make stuff and I wanted to help in the kitchen.
5. What do you remember about cooking and food from your childhood?
Pig roasts were good. Other than eating it, all I really remember is butchering the pig and doing a lot of other work.
6. What are your favorite foods?
Yes.
7. What foods do you dislike?
Octopus.
8. What food is a guilty pleasure for you?
Anything with chocolate and peanut butter, or meat sauce. Just not together.
9. Do you have any food allergies?
No.
10. Are you omnivore, vegetarian, vegan, etc? Why?
Omnnivore. I was forced to eat veggies as a kid, and they're not bad now, but I can't NOT eat meat. MUST HAVE ANIMAL FLESH. it tastes so good...
11. Do you have any other culinary restrictions?
No.
12. Have you had any official schooling in culinary arts? If not, do you intend to go?
I went to a vocational school for three years for culinary arts.
13. Do you cook for a living? Is your job in any way related to food?
No, and no. I work with leather.
14. Favorite food to make?
Burgers or chili.
15. What ingredients do you use most often? Or, what could you never imagine cooking without?
Salt, pepper, garlic, Italian seasoning, butter and cumin.
16. What kind of knives do you use? What's your preferred knife (style, length, etc.)?
I prefer to use a cleaver or 8" chef knife, the sharper the better. We have Henkel knives at home.
17. What would you like to learn how to cook?
Anything Egyptian or Greek.
18. What's your favorite restaurant? What do you order?
Casa Grande. Tacos and enchiladas.
19. Do you like TV chefs? Who's your favorite personality/show?
Yes; Alton Brown and Gordon Ramsey.
20. What advice would you give to someone who's just starting out learning how to cook?
Experiment! And taste your food!
