The TOS below will be sent to artists I commission. Should the artist decline the terms of this TOS, no transaction will take place. The terms below were written to provide protections for both the artist and commissioner. These were written to be as fair as possible to both sides, while providing some "common sense" protections against some things that seem to be abused within the community. Suggestions and comments are welcome.




The below Terms of Service provide a way for me (herein “Commissioner”) to protect myself, while at the same time allows me to afford some other protections to you (herein “Artist”). These terms can be altered at any time, though any alterations to terms while art is in progress will not apply to that piece, unless otherwise communicated and agreed upon by all parties involved. Artist’s Terms of Service still apply and any conflicts will be resolved in writing prior to payment being sent and work being started.

Payment
• Unless otherwise discussed/pre-arranged, Commissioner agrees to submit one half (50%) of total amount due as payment for services rendered at the time of commission.
• Remainder of balance (50% of total due) is due upon completion of the commissioned piece.
• Parties involved may discuss and may make other arrangements for payment amounts and due dates, but on a case-by-case basis and only when both parties agree in writing.

Conduct
• Commissioner agrees to read and abide by Artist’s Terms of Service (if available) and will discuss any questions or concerns prior to submitting initial payment.
• Commissioner agrees to discuss full scope of work prior to submitting deposit payment to artist.
• Commissioner agrees to not request alterations to art or change scope of work after submitting payment.
• Artist agrees to provide a response to legitimate questions or concerns within a reasonable timeframe. This commitment does not apply to communication where Commissioner has requested changes/updates to piece after scope of work has been agreed upon and/or work on the piece has begun.
• Artist will provide an up-to-date queue in some fashion (i.e. Trello, FurAffinity, etc.) or agrees to provide regular updates on the status of work via Twitter or email (this is NOT a request for works in progress, but rather allows Commissioner to see that work of some sort is being done).
• Artist and Commissioner agree to make an attempt to settle disputes privately and amicably prior to proceeding to PayPal/Credit Card disputes, Artist Beware posts, etc.
