What is BottomlessHerms About?
If you have that unexplainable love of seeing herms bare their lower half, this is the place for you. It doesn't matter if you're an artist, a writer or just someone who can appreciate such depictions, BottomlessHerms is meant to be a gathering point to share culture, ideas (and of course art) surrounding the pantiless. While the intention is to keep things as tasteful as possible in order to appreciate the fine art of the subject, the occasional hardcore material won't be frowned at. Keep in mind that this operates like a regular club: upon subscribing you'll receive art updates, newsletters and notices of important group communication. There will even be a bulletin board for discussions soon. However, this operation is planned to be minimal, so don't be worried about account spam. When an update is made, it will be something you can really sink your teeth into. So, What is Bottomless?
'Bottomless' is a state of partial nudity, often involving a lack of garments below the waist. This may include references to "going commando," even when a skirt is worn. Most functionally, however, the term refers to the complete absence of clothing surrounding the waist, giving total exposure to the buttocks and genitalia. It has been depicted in artworks throughout the ages, appears in many works of fine-art nude photography, and serves a purpose in many religious ceremonies across the world. Increasingly it has become a favorite among individuals engaging in sexual activity.

Why Go Bottomless?
Since the beginning of the Golden Age of Animation, characters of the 'toon animal' sort have appeared only in shirts. Why? The reasons are unclear. Perhaps pants were too difficult to draw quickly. However, there is an upside--it accentuates the curves of the body, front and back. It is visually appealing in this regard, putting prominence on the uncovered area of the body. It is also a very stimulating feeling, especially for those who do not go without clothing often. Be it while doing your daily household tasks or while sleeping, going bottomless is a liberating sensation.

Why a Fan Club?
Ultimately, it's about the appreciation of the herm figure and all the mystery and awe-inspiring beauty it has to offer. Some might argue full nudity might accomplish this better, but nothing can accentuate curves the way a tight shirt can--not even pants or skirts. So why should you be interested in all this? It's widely open to personal interpretation. The beauty of 'bottomless' is that it can be as sexy, as exhibitionist, as teasing or as tender and cute as you want it to be. There's no set rule for how or why you come to be attracted to it.

Bottomless Art is also becoming a movement unto its own. Increasingly this category of nude art is becoming recognized as one of the 'standard' types of fine art, especially in the world of photography. This isn't a reason not to take "furry art" back to its roots in animation, and to appreciate this century-old phenomenon in the context of the lovable, adorable Toon Animals.
