I've been a furry for pretty much as long as I've had access to the internet. Even if I didn't know exactly what that was. Even as a kid I described myself as a "catperson" convinced that under my primate skin I was a humanoid feline alien. I feel like I'd be a lot happier if I'd just let myself make friends in this fandom but unfortunately I let my mom's negative views effect me. I'm almost thirty though and I don't really understand most "normal" people. Everyone's got something and just because my something is considered "weird" why should I be unhappy? I only get one life and this fandom is full of people who have inspired me for years. As creative and kind as a fandom can be despite its flaws... Which are pretty universal as far as fandoms go. I've lurked in enough of them to know that.
