Ah... So I get this big box to write whatever I want? Interesting...
Anyhoo, hello FurAffinity! I'm a teenage guy who's currently trying to make it out of high school in his top 10 percent, and who's trying to get into college. It's my junior year of high school, so I'm rather close to finishing! I'm a Capricorn (my parents said I was born during a snowstorm) whose main ambition is writing.
Ever since I was young, I knew I had a knack for writing. From those silly story projects we had to do in elementary school, my realization for the literary arts took off in high school back in 2010, when I heard of this thing called the NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). I accepted the challenge of writing a 50K word novel within the month of November, and it turned out that I loved writing. I just couldn't stop. I just had to keep writing this story I had made up in my mind, I wanted to keep creating these plots, and I especially wanted to flesh out my characters even more! The novel that I wrote is what gave birth to my persona: Claybrook Sokki, a horned lizard out for adventure, accompanied by his raccoon friend Rorak Redeye.
I don't really abide by the whole idea of a 'fursona'. Rather, I prefer to refer to my character as just a character. He's merely a figment of my imagination I made up in my fantasy world. Anyways, allow me to introduce Claybrook Sokki. Claybrook is an anthropomorphic horned lizard male who starts my novel at age 19. Since he ages as the story progresses, I don't have a definite year. Being the protagonist of my series, he's got the typical heroic traits--he's ambitious, chivalrous, kind, gentle, careful, and concerned for everyone's well-being. Of course, he has his flaws: he's gullible, he's sensitive, and he is easily taken advantage of. Regardless, he presses on, never letting a single thing keep him off track.
My interest in the furry fandom began waaay before I even knew what a furry was. I guess if I had to state a root, it would be because of Disney's re-imagining of Robin Hood. As I child, I adored that movie. I just loved the concept of replacing humans with walking and talking animals. It added flair, interest, and personality to the series. Humans are boring anyway, so seeing something that involved animals and their "animal stereotypes" was quite interesting to me.
Over the years, I stared to investigate. I tried to learn what the concept is called when you put animals in place of humans. Through countless Wikipedia and TvTropes articles later, I finally found out what they were called. It was actually quite fun figuring out an enigma you've had since your childhood.
And then I stumbled across this site. FurAffinity dot net. I've been prowling the site for about a year now, simply looking at the interesting new content you people have created. My reactions to what people have submitted were all across the board: I was either amazed, surprised, curious, in shock, and even unimpressed or disgusted. Regardless, I had finally found a community that shares one of my interests.
I am also quite an avid gamer. Though I primarily play on my PC (that I built all on my own!), I also have a Wii and an XBOX 360. I'm a big Nintendo fan, so I have a couple of games in my shelves. The XBOX was much later, but I only got it since my friends had one, plus I wanted to play some XBOX games on it.
For PC, I play quite a bit of Steam games, including Team Fortress 2, Skyrim, and a couple of others. Currently I'm on my third playthrough of Bioshock 1. I also own Guild Wars 2 (Torrmek.5723) and I play League of Legends as well (though I don't play it an awful lot).
For my Wii, the most recent game I've played on it was Xenoblade Chronicles. I'm also working on my second playthrough of TLoZ: Skyward Sword. Also, I'm in love with Monster Hunter Tri!
As for my XBOX, it's not the most popular thing I have. I play a couple of XBLA titles (Outland is my fav), but I also play SoulCalibur IV, Final Fantasy XIII, and Sonic Generations.
Also, if you want to play a couple of games with me online, feel free to send a message with whatever game you want to play! I'm always looking for someone to play with!
Well, I guess that's all about me for right now. If you want to chat, feel free to send a message! Though I'm still new to the site, I'm willing to make some new friends.

EXPERIMENT: Content of WikiFur
A random experiment I decided to do upon encountering WikiFur.
Based on a sample of 100 pages. All of these pages were obtained by clicking the 'Random Page' button on the left sidebar.
Term: 8 - Definitions of any complex term, such as an acronym or a dictionary word (like digitigrade and plantigrade).
Project: 18 - Any professional or amateur work, including but not limited to writing piece, short story, webcomic, album, comic, film, etc.
Artist Profile: 42 - The equivalent of a profile page, this section includes anything that mentions a physical human and gives a biography.
Character: 12 - Any character, regardless of species and professional status (franchise, published or amateur), that is not a fursona and plays a role in any project.
Event: 5 - Events range from local gatherings to to national conventions.
News: 2 - Any form of media writing (news, blog, magazine) that mentions furries.
Site: 8 - Physical location or a website on the internet.
Organization: 5 - A group of real people, such as an animation studio or the administrators of a website, even a band.
The purpose of this experiment was to analyze the content of WikiFur. It is highly likely to conclude that about half of WikiFur contains an artist's profile/biography, as a sample of 100 random pages led to 42 'profiles'. This leads us to believe that while WikiFur has content to satiate those wanting to do research, it does not deter from the fact that the site is filled with artist profiles. It is safe to assume that WikiFur may even lack actual content, as most pages are quite trim or entirely empty. Some pages even lack reliable references, as if a user were to place in an opinion without evidence or support.
P.S. If you don't believe my numbers, the go try the experiment on your own. Come back with the number of Artist Profiles you pull up.
