I have been designing a species for about 2 weeks now. So I'm gonna share some of the progress I've made. Also this is a wip species so for now please do not make one of my animals as they are not done yet.

So for now they are called Krygons, they mostly are cats mixed with dragons and sweet treats. But they might majorly change.
So for the dragon+cat part of it:

~Features~
Krygons are mostly cats with features of dragons with dragon magic. Their features include two horns on their head, a gem on their forehead, a gem on the part of their body where the tail meets the body, two small horns on their shoulders, and very rarely they have wings and/or hair.
~Patterns and Coloring~
Krygons always have neon fur or black fur. Their eye color is normally a shade lighter than their fur color. Their paw pads, tongue, and inside of their ears are two shades lighter or darker than their main fur color. Females are the only known Krygons that have more than one color (ex. blue and green are females, and just purple are males). Krygons have glowing silva, blood, tears, and other bodily fluid.
~Magic Abilities~
Krygons are the only known creatures of their world that are able to twist and bend reality, time, space, or anything. When ever they use their abilities the brightest shade on their body glows brilliantly, their eyes will shine, and the ground beneath them start to glow. Unfortunately they become very weak for twelve hours after they use their magic, and can only use their magic when there is light around.

~Kithood~
Krygons are born live, and will age like normal cat kits. But they will require fish as their main food source. They also will be more active then normal kits.

~Location~
Krygons at the moment have a basic look as this species is very new. But later Krygons will evolve to fit wherever they happen to live, if they live near water they will grow fins and be able to breath underwater.

~Diet~
Krygons mostly eat fish, vegetation, and nuts. Although Krygons can virtually eat anything as long as normal cats eat as Krygons are very self-weary and like to fit in with normal cats.

~Origin~
Krygons began as Ara began her tale(a character from a story I am writing)

~Social Structure~
Krygons are varying levels of social as one may be shy, but another may be mean. Krygons tend to live with other Krygons or cats as they are close ancestors.

Now for the sweet treat part!

Physical Traits:
-looks like sweet treats (ex. Ice Cream, baked goods, candy, etc.)
-ribbons (ex. starts from a paw and flows everywhere)
-bells (ex. bells on tip of tail, jingles only in certain situations)
-bows (ex. tiny bows on tips of ears, on front paws)
-sparkles (ex. saliva is a pastel color with sparkles in it)
-extra fluff (ex. extra fluff on shoulders, inside ears, above eyes, extra fluff on paws where bows are, etc.)
-lace (ex. lace on back legs, tail, ears, etc.)

That's all I have some of the ideas in here are conflicting, but this is more of a rough draft for a species than a final paper. I also have some other sections of making a species to do like:
