            Fáilte! Welcome, kin!
This group is for the handful of CR, or "Celtic Reconstructionist", practitioners here on FA.
But what is Celtic Reconstructionism?
Celtic Reconstructionism, or CR for short, is a polytheistic religious movement aimed at the reimmersion of the ancient religion of our peoples that hailed from the regions of England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales, know as the Celts. By Reconstructionism, we mean to model the beliefs, culture and spirituality of our ancestors. There are NO Wiccan ideals or practices involved in our religion and ways and we do not include elements of Wicca into our practices. Wiccan practices, and worship of "The Goddess" and the concept that all deities are just fractions of one bigger deity goes against our belief that every god, goddess and spirit are real and individual, and not a part of one big, all-powerful, all-knowing god/goddess.
Now, CR is a sort of "umbrella term". There are many sub-groups of CR that may have different practices, or hail from a different region (such as Scotland) that solely focus on the practices of that group of peoples. These groups are:
    Amldduwiaeth (“Polytheism” in Welsh)
Aurrad (“Member of the Tribe” in Old Irish)
    Celtic Restorationism
    Ildiachas (“Polytheism” in Irish Gaelic)
    Ioma-Dhiadhachd (“Polytheism” in Scots Gaelic)
    Liesdoueadegezh (“Polytheism” in Breton)
Pàganachd (“Paganism, Heathenism” in Scots Gaelic)
Págánacht (“Paganism, Heathenism” in Irish Gaelic)
Págántacht (alternate, and more common, Irish Gaelic spelling of Págánacht)
Senistrognata (“Ancestral Customs” in reconstructed Old Celtic)
    Yljeeaghys (“Polytheism” in Manx Gaelic)

So, how exactly do you we practice?
"There are some survivals of pre-Christian Celtic traditions in the lore and folk practices of the Celtic countries and the Celtic diaspora but, after centuries of Christian overlay, most people do not find these folk traditions by themselves to be a whole or viable spiritual path. By studying the old manuscript sources and the regional folklore, combining this information with mystical and ecstatic practice, and working together to weed out the non-Celtic elements that can arise, we are nurturing what still lives and helping the polytheistic Celtic traditions grow strong and whole again. We approach this in part by trying to envision what different Celtic Paganisms might look like today if they had been uninterrupted by Christianity, much as Hinduism has changed over the centuries, remaining the same religion but changing in form with the changing times."

You do not have to be of Celtic descent to become a CR practitioner. "Celtic" is not a race, it is a grouping of language and culture, not heritage. Anybody who wishes to become a Celtic Reconstructionist does not have to meet any requirements, as we are welcoming to all persons, as we are all of one blood, and one family. Gallery
