An Important Reflection
Hey. It's me. I uhh... usually don't get active on here with my personal matters and I never had made a journal entry to talk about some things. But with my gallery and favs being a part of who I am, and with what recently happened, it's safe to say this needs to be talked about and needs get off my chest publicly.
If you don't know who I am or what my quirks or gimmicks may be, I am just some guy playing a skunk sona online who is mildly in the furry fandom. The one thing I like is topics that involves farming and such, specifically harvesting big veggies and what not. Stories like 'The Giant Turnip' were part of something I loved as a kid and I loved the idea of putting my character(s) to work with them. Sure, I have other interests like stucks, chubs, and strength related things, but with that being said, turnip stuff, or what I would like to call 'veggie tugs', is something endearing to me and it's what I get on a regular basis from a variety of artists (who were very nice with accepting and kind to create everything you see in my gallery and favorites).
Recently, I had commission one from someone to get a piece, and I have received around 3 commissions prior before this; two being in the same genre of 'veggie tugs' and one being a stuck. For background, I somewhat knew this person for a time and were in their discord. I hardly do my best to get involved with some of the topics but I thought we were still on good terms since we do have fun in VRchat. We did have a conversation about commissions and I told them about my liking to all this turnip stuff, and they said joyfully that it was fine. A month or two went by, and I haven't got anything from them for quite some time and I wanted to support them again with my same theme and with something I hoped they would of liked as well. However, they have told me to stop asking for the same thing or they will refund the commission the next time. I was very confused and was put in a very uncomfortable position with false senses. Out of the many commissions I have got under my belt, and with a handful of them being the same person who took the same idea, I have never encountered something like this before where someone got fed up with my stuff. I would say it is in their right to turn down the offer if its something they don't want to do, but it could of been brought into light a little more subtle than just dumping it, especially to someone who is supporting you and was a commoner to your group. Probably the person's fault of not being sincere for their customers, or that's just me being thin-skinned. Regardless, its a very uncomfortable feeling.
This whole incident made me wonder about myself if my sort of theme is becoming 'too repetitive' to commission. I have had this thought and I was always so afraid it would be too much for someone. Yet, the people I return to with the same topic for a commission never said a thing about it. So having this happen is very conflicting, yet eye opening at the same time. So to anyone I commission, more or so the ones I return to, if you found my stuff repetitive every time I commission, I am sorry to put you through it. But I 100% appreciate your time and efforts to making something I enjoy and love.~
