General Overview -
Brustails are an anthro micro-species carrying both animal and humanoid features in equal portions. Meaning it is unlikely the race has ever advanced into a feral state at any point in their short evolution. Though their animal traits have been mostly noted to resemble canines or rabbits. There are distinction separating them as their own. Most notably the design of their tails and the specialized functions taking place within their internal systems. Thus their given name is based upon. They tend to be no bigger than two feet tall and are light enough in mass that they can be carried by most other creatures.
Physical Biology -
Their tails are generally long and always outfitted with a tip that is essentially a big collection of fur. As a Brushtail matures, this fur slowly forms to a point. In turn creating a paint brush type of appearance. This is more than just an aesthetic appeal, as the tail releases an ink-based fluid from pores located under the fur. Enabling them to use their tails as tools of artistic means.
The ink-based fluid released through their tails is created from within the Brushtail's body naturally. Their systems being able to process nutrients and materials from their dietary habits to establish attributes such as color and thickness of the ink. It is pumped through their system like blood through humans. Which is why it is considered their life force in much the same respect as blood.
Excess ink production is stored in glass pods located about the Brustail's body. The number, design, and location of ink pods are different from one Brushtail to the next. Some may have few or many. Some may have circular pods while others may have star shaped ones. It is theorized that the factors of ink pods are influenced by the given nature of the Brustail itself. However, there is no confirmed fact about all Brustails. There are always at the least, two central ink pods on each thigh.
Standard Pod locations include:
» Thighs (A common place found on all Brushtails thus far)
» Shoulders
» Hands
» Ankles
» Forehead (Very rarely found)
» Chest (Very rarely found)
Any other locations on the body are considered mutations and are highly unlikely given no concrete evidence for proof of existence.
Most Brustails, due to the nature of their creation, always have some kind of pattern or design on their bodies. These markings vary from simple to extravagant depending on the personality and terms of which they were created. Scriptures have also been noted as a potential markings upon Brustails.
Origin and Purpose -
Brushtails are the result of imagination and willpower brought to life. First and foremost they are a person's inner most creative consciousness brought to physical form. Able to interact, communicate, and fully engage with their soul bound creators. With their tails they feel compelled to carry out every artist whim their creator's desire. Whether that be writing stories, drawing, composing sheet music. They do as they were created from. A faithful and loyal companion to the end.
