Hello! My name is Bazelikov, and I love to draw, play games, and meet new friends, and am a HUGE tech nerd. I have been (more or less) drawing/sketching since 2013. Taken by my lovely Aeneas Noodle Dragon~ 23/09/2025

Found out something about myself 🇨🇦 (G)
Last week I was perusing YouTube as one does, when I came across a video from CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) about a recent change to Canada's citizenship law back in December of 2025. It's called Bill C-3, and it extends citizenship by descent past the first generation of Canadians born abroad.
"Lost Canadians
The term “Lost Canadians” refers to people who lost or never obtained citizenship because of certain outdated rules in earlier citizenship laws.
Most cases were resolved through legislative changes in 2009 and 2015, which restored or gave citizenship to about 20,000 people. However, some people remained excluded, including section 8 “Lost Canadians” and descendants of “Lost Canadians.”
Bill C-3 extends access to citizenship to these remaining “Lost Canadians,” their descendants and those born abroad to or adopted abroad by a Canadian parent in the second or later generation before the new law came into effect."

I qualify for Canadian citizenship based on this, which is life changing for me, as I don't even need to go back that far to find a Canadian ancestor. I never knew about my Canadian ancestry before, but I am already in the process of submitting the appropriate documents and such, my mother's into Genealogy so it's not been that difficult to figure out. I had to go back less than 80 years to find my last Canadian ancestor.
Based on what I've heard and researched, I've been a Canadian my entire life, but only now is it being recognised!
Furthermore, I think anyone who thinks they might have Canadian heritage should look into it; my life's trajectory has been completely altered by the knowledge of this law, and for once in a good way.
