tl;dr Birthday on May 4th. Plan on having one or two VCs (in diff groups on Discord) during the birthday week (especially weekend). Still up in the air on exact plans/location/etc.

I don't usually try to make my birthday public. At least, not like this; where I do so weeks in-advanced. This is mainly just to inform people who might be interested. Especially those who'd wish to give me something (if you do, please DM me on here, Discord, Bluesky, etc).

Since my late teens, I've kinda stopped celebrating my birthday. However since two or three years, I've been trying to give myself the space to do so. At first, it was mainly just doing something special for myself that didn't require extra money (like, playing my favorite games, watching self-indulgent shows, etc). Overtime, I've been interested in hosting little discord VC parties where I stream some movies/shows (mostly old anime OVAs) or whatever everyone is in the mood for. Games are harder to set up since I know not everyone has Parsec or is able to get it to work (at least, whenever I've tried to get it to work).

All I really want for this whole thing is to just hang out with people that care and understand me. I also want to make sure it's a fun day for others; even if it means going against my personal choices for what we play or watch.

I'm still trying to figure out plans. The idea was to at least have a birthday celebration event on two or so Discord group VCs over the whole birthday week. I know people can't show up on the 4th because of work/school; thus the week thing.

I'm likely not gonna have it be on my own discord group. I just...don't have the proper moderation tools to actually set everything up, ESPECIALLY on my own end. At the moment, my executive function isn't equipped to organize/moderate entirely by myself. I know it's my fault for letting it get like this but other things in life have made it hard to actually plan shit. That's why I'm interested in doing this in one or two Discord groups I'm in. I'm still shopping around

I'm still not sure if I'll be doing anything IRL. I have one friend who'd be willing to do so if given the chance but they're REALLY busy with an IRL furry event and I don't want to distract them from all that. I don't have any money to spend on myself.

Part of me feels like I'm being selfish, even if I don't expect to get any actual gifts. All I want is to just...treat myself to something special. BUT, I also love giving everyone a fun time and a respite from reality.
