TOS of Buying Adoptables
(1.) “Holds”.
I will never ask for a “Hold”. Ever.
I either bid or AB, there is no in between. If you asked me for the money, I could pay you on the spot… Like an actual auction.
Ø Within that same vein of thinking, if you choose to take the promise of a bid (a “Hold” in this case) over my actual one, then I am instantly freed from the auction. You may feel free to message me if I had the second-highest bid and the “Hold” falls through, but do not be surprised if I no longer have the funds to pay you.
(2.) Copyright and Adoption:
When I buy an adoptable, I expect to have full custody of it.
Meaning: if I choose to put it in a webtoon/comic, or use it commercially, that is within my right. There is a lot (and I do mean a lot) of legal mumbo-jumbo that goes into actually giving someone the copyright to a creation. Such as a lawyer, certification, and some amount of extra money… I’m not in the mood for such a headache, especially not when creators are selling their creations left-right-and-center.
So, what I’m mostly relying on here is your integrity as a creator. By reading this and agreeing to it, you are removing yourself from any decisions involving what happens to said creation.
Do not be mistaken! You may, of course, continue to use it as an example/piece in your portfolio as an artist. I will credit you with the creature’s design at every available opportunity. But as such, you have also removed yourself from any say to it/him/her/whatever.
(( I will probably add more to this later, but for now, this is what we're looking at, as of: 01.24.2020.
Updated as of: 01.26.2020. ))
