   Xenoforge: In my HW they are sentient, and capable of understanding basic human language if taught. they do have individual personalities like any domestic animal would.

Xenoforge: their mannerisms are a combination of horse and big cats. so they have hierarchies in their packs. if allowed to form one ( usually only ferals) domestics dont have any needs to build a hierarchy. for the most part.

Xenoforge: domestics also have a different dialect then the ferals. helps keep the domestics from running off to the calls of the ferals ( for the owners sake lol)

Ren: you can teach them how to communicate to a degree.?

Xenoforge: I guess itd be like toothless and his understanding but not as expressive ? idk

Xenoforge: they are self aware and can think for themselves.

Ren: Could you give an example of a typical brief interaction with a felkin to illustrate their capability to respond to someone approaching the felkin does not know.. I'll give an example.. Individual has stumbled on a domestic felkin after being lost in the nearby woods. The individual is not familiar with a felkin in any way so asks for help.

Xenoforge: I mean, it can go how ever you want it to go, id assume itd be like finding a lost dog.

Xenoforge: you can teach them how to communicate to a degree.

Xenoforge: they understand. and can respond by trained queues or the best they can with getting the person to understand lol 

Ren: Am I right in saying that a felkin is capable of a fully sentient level of thought, or is that beyond their capabilities?

 Xenoforge: like koko the gorilla level maybe? she was nearly fluent in ASL

Xenoforge: So cognitive capabilities similar to that of a 8-12 year old, or there abouts.. But heavily driven by instinct. So if faced with a situation they don't understand they will act upon instinct while supported by an intelegent and calculating mind

Xenoforge: they move like horses , act like dogs, built like big cats.

Xenoforge: they can stand on the hinds like bears too

Xenoforge: they eat more fish then any other sort of meat since its easier to get. but they do eat big game animals too.

Ren: If startled do they do the whole cat vs cucumber thing? What would happen afterward.. Well I'd rather not find out.

Xenoforge: they have a wide range of view, so startling them would be hard. but id imagine it would be like a horse. they are heavy af animals so jumping like a cat wouldnt be easy 😆

Ren: yet some how they can manage to climb trees?😏

Xenoforge: Dunno, maybe like bears or big cats do. Unexplainable natural evolution.

Xenoforge: they are good swimmers, can open and close their nares.

Xenoforge: Animals to reference for vocals, movement, diet, temperament and anatomy: Bear, Horse, Big cat, Wolf, Orca, Stellers eagle.

Xenoforge: Felkins are MAMMALS and whelp 1 or 2 offspring at a time. Live births, no egg laying.

Xenoforge: They have an omnivorous diet. (plants, animals, insects)

Xenoforge: They live in communal packs, with an established matriarch/patriarch.

Xenoforge: Males and females engage in battles for dominance/order. There is no sexual dymorphism. Only males have rear hind paws spurs they are capable of learning/understanding the human language the same as a dolphin or chimpanzee.

Xenoforge: they can not verbally speak a language. Imitating sounds like the clicks of dolphins or the growl of a bear and other represented animal species, which I mentioned earlier.



    DO NOT:

Xenoforge: put wings on them. ( any you see with wings is likely a first gen type and are no longer cannon)

Xenoforge: put horns anywhere but the head,  put scales/feathers on them, make them magical/ or have special abilities, make them toxic/venomous.
