Hey folks! The first snow of the year is falling outside and I felt like it was time to make an update journal for those watching or passing by... that and we've hit 1,000 views on my profile!

... okay, 999 as of writing this, but surely one of you will be 1,000 haha.

I've had a lot of fun meeting new artists and commissioning since starting this account 9~ months ago. Made a few new acquaintances and dare I say a friend or two, and artists I've now had the pleasure to work with multiple times. Thank you for treating me well, and I hope I've been a good commissioner experience in turn. Here's to more new encounters and interesting pieces of art to share with each other in the coming year.

While I've strayed a bit from the "Yokai" part of my username, I feel like it's still fitting and my own personal fascination with yokai as a concept has grown since then. The big surprise for me the past year was the desire to fully revamp my old wolf 'sona; he went through a few iterations but I'm stupidly happy with how his final design has ended up. Even more, I'm surprised at how well received he's been through the few pieces of art I've been able to commission, and I'd like to draw him myself as well sometime this year. That being said, I really do need to bring Mana's (fluffdragon!) art over to this account but have wanted to avoid pushing my more recent and relevant art back. So, I will be weaving uploads of those in finally as I'd meant to half a year ago.

So yeah! The trio became a squad now I suppose. I have my eyes set on a certain artist to do Valo's ref sheet and am super excited about the potential there, but we'll see if it's able to happen. I've also been attempting to work with some well-known Japanese artists, and I'm hoping the avenues available to me will eventually pan out and that I can share the fruits of those efforts sometime later this year. ^^ There's also a few indulgent cosplay pieces I want to make come to life, like my lynx as Aventurine from Star Rail or Nyanja from Fortnite, or Valo as Blaidd or an anthro version of Sif... which I guess would just be him in a stance holding a giant sword Zoro-like in his muzzle lol.
